***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I'm by far not an expert, but this does seem like a lot of eating to me! I remember @Lisa F suggesting that you keep meals 6 hours apart, and in many cases you are too close. It also seems like a lot of running around between parks for meals.

On day 2 I would drop the Tony's dinner (i have heard not so great things anyway) and eat snacks or a light quick service since you will have lots of desert on the on the Pirates and Pal cruise.

You also have a lot of meals on day 3. Is a character meal important for you for your 17 month old? If so, I would drop one of the two WS sit downs (they seem really close together anyway) and keep the 'Ohana breakfast, or maybe consider swapping Garden Grill for Ohana. You could drop a sit down and just snack in the WS.
that's a rule of thumb I read here for people doing DxDDP and I have kind of thought about it when I've eaten out twice in a day (like when my parents were here) and it seems to work. 10:30 breakfast and 5:30 dinner is what happened when my parents were here and I was pretty well starving by 5:30, an hour earlier would have been ok too. one day when I was more active I had a snack somewhere in there. this is pretty much my plan at disney.

I'm looking over my plans and attempting to make them somewhat finalized. How does this sound? Just as an fyi we are styaing 4 nights at SOG then 3 nights at AK. We have a rental car and plan to do 1 day at Universal. Also this is our 1st trip 1) in more than 20 years since we were kids for both DH and I, and 2) traveling with a 17 month old.

Day 1- Sunday
Early flight arriving at 830am. Get rental car from airport, head to target or Walmart for a few items, check into SOG.
12:35 brunch at Trail ends
Go to Disney Spring
6:15 Raglan Road

Day 2- Monday
Magic Kingdom
1:25 Liberty Tree Tavern lunch
6:30 Tony's Town Square dinner
8:30 Pirate and Pals fireworks voyage from Contemporary

Day 3- Tuesday
Check out the decorations at other resort, hang out by the pool maybe.
4pm head to MK for Party.
620 Be Our Guest dinner ( I know this will take away from some party stuff I'm hoping to move it earlier)

Day 4- Wednesday
7:35 Ohana breakfast (I might cancel this)
Head to Epcot
1:20 Biegarten lunch
6:30 San Angel Inn dinner

Day 5- Thursday
8:50 Kona breakfast
10am first haircut at MK barbershop
Move from SOG to AK
1:40 Tusker house lunch
Spend day at AK park. Should we do the safari at dusk or wait until the next morning?

Day 6- Friday
12:20 Hollywood and Vines Play n' Dine (may have to cancel this because I could only get it for 2 people and we need 3)
Spend some time in HS then back to AK for
5:30 Yak and Yeti dinner

Day 7- Saturday
Head to Universal

Day 8- Sunday
9am flight home

It seems like alot of eating. I didn't want to miss out on some places but it just seems like alot to me. I might want to snack more than sit down.

What should i change?

I will agree with the others and would either move or remove some stuff... and I will say we have a lot of similar choices. :) I'm going with my 2 and a half year old and DH on the DxDP and we're also doing 2 TS a day... I think there's one day where we may do 3 TS but I'm going spacing it a little more 8am/ 12:50pm/ 6:30pm. :) Still considering cancelling the breakfast but we'll see. It's the Wave so I havent made the reservation yet too.

Hahaha! We have about the same situation but my DH is just indifferent to Disney. (or maybe he hates it but I love it so he doesn't want to tell me, LOL) I would usually get him shirts that can be passable for everyday wear like grumpy shirts. I hope my love for Disney passes to my son though so it'll be 2 against 1! :rotfl:
Same. Dh has never been to disney but he dislikes crowds so he already has a bias. I think that's why he agreed to emm at mk! I just hope he loves it.

On another note for those that have been going a long time, did disney used to sell Nestlé toll house cookies? I could have sworn they had a shop that did in mk on main St.

nestle used to be a big sponsor. They sponsored the land and coffee used to be very crappy nestle machine coffee. They pulled out of sponsorship in 2009 and I say good riddance. They are probably the most evil company out there! So no toll house cookies I don't think but yes to chocolate chip cookies!

Would you fastpass Buzz or Space Mountain on a party day? I'm thinking Space Mountain would be a really hard SDFP on a party day. I'm looking at today for example (yes, I know it's a halloween party and not an xmas party) and Space Mountain FP is gone but Buzz has tons of availability.

I currently have TOmorrowland Speedway, Buzz and Ariel's Grotto on Sunday 12/5 and we're not staying for the party (we're coming in the PM). Wondering if I should change this for 2x us for Space Mountain (son can't ride) and leave 2 for Buzz since son can't ride Space Mountain? We can always try and SDFP buzz for all of us?

I'm not opposed to dropping character meals other than Tusker house, that's really the only one I want to do. What is WS?
I would think that in Epcot especially we would want to snack more than sit down meals, right? From all the different countries?

3 a day TS for me is a lot and 2 a day is even a lot IMO if both are lunch and dinner. I would do the following:
sunday looks ok
Monday: keep LT lunch, do QS in MK for dinner, if you want italian Pinocchio's looks pretty good nowadays with their flatbread pizzas and garlic knots and pasta alfredo. I do not love the QS personally because it is so hard as a single mother but if I were doing 1 TS a day I would def keep LT over Tony's.
Tuesday: fine
Wednesday: If you don't want to be all over the place but still want character breakfast, I'd consider one of two:
cape may breakfast
garden grill breakfast
I think both are more convenient to epcot. it depends on what you are trying to achieve though.
then I would pick either Biergarten OR San Angel Inn for dinner, you shouldn't have trouble getting either at a reasonable time. Both have QS choices that are decent if you want to have both cuisines. That is too much food in one day IMO. I would pick biergarten because they decorate it for xmas and save San Angel for another time. Also with a little one I think biergarten is a better fit than dark and very close together seats.
Thursday I'd try to move TH to dinner from lunch, even an early dinner
Friday
I'd try to move H&V to late breakfast instead of lunch. Give yourself a couple of hours to do some rides then a lateish breakfast seating.

I'm glad to see you both agree that it's a lot of sit down meals. So Monday I will drop Tony's and get something quick serve. I didn't realize there were treats at the Pirate thingy.
I agree Biergarten for Wed. That was my pick and San Angel was a suggestion by a friend. The baby is a major social butterfly so he would love sitting with other people.
Although H&V was again my pick I might have to drop it. I don't really like breakfast so that's why I picked lunch.

Thank you both for your help. I feel so much better now knowing it was a lot of eating and running around. I know DH will be much happier going at a more relaxed pace rather than rushing to eat again.

Sorry, @CaleCakes i meant World Showcase and typed WS. I'm getting too used to these acronyms, if that is even one! :-)

well maybe you can just get a bit earlier lunch at H&V. I like eating at off times personally. less crazy and crowded even though the restaurant might be fully booked :)

I have 3 days at the MK and here are my FP+

first is 12/7 after 5:30 dinner at Narcoossees and I have:
7:15-8:15pm Buzz
8:15-9:15pm Space Mountain
9:15-10pm Peter Pan
then wishes, then EMH. I figure i will do most of tomorrowland and attempt to pick up a SDFP for tomorrowland speedway, pooh and small world before wishes and whatever looks good/tempting during EMH.

then 12/8 I have 3:30 dinner at 'Ohana
4:30-5:30pm Peter Pan
5:30-6:30pm 7DMT
hoping to pick up pooh and barnstormer @30 days with MVMCP tickets
after Wishes going to maybe hit up BTMRR, HM, and Adventureland and maybe Peter Pan standby, really want to see the standby queue which is supposedly worth seeing but not willing to spend a ton of time in it.

then 12/9 I have 9:50am Crystal Palace
hoping for SDFP for HM 12-1pm, but will standby otherwise and then muppets show at 11:55, or HM after Muppets if I don't have time between breakfast and 11:55 show. .
12:15-1:15 Splash Mountain (hoping it is nearing the warmest part of the day lol)
country bears
1:15-2:15 BTMRR
either SDFP for 1:45-2:45 and 2:45-3:45 or about in that range for Jungle Cruise and Pirates or Buzz and Tomorrowland Speedway depending on what we feel like
4:20-5:20 7DMT FP+
begin making our way slowly to the front of the park by about 5pm for HDDR at 6:15, be at boat dock by 5:30 or so.

edited to add I just made some changes to times while I was sitting here thinking about it. I had Splash Mountain a half hour earlier because I was trying to use my FP+ as quickly as I could in the day but now that I have the later 7DMT FP+ there is no reason to crowd my late morning/early afternoon. I am leaving room for a worst case scenario of not out of CP until 11:30 then we need to go see Muppets right away with no room for HM in between (we can shop for a bit and take our time walking there) or maybe if we have some time do hall of presidents before muppets then HM after... or maybe I should just plan for HM after and hall of presidents before if we have time... so just revised SDFP goal again lol.

So packing for little ones... Does anyone pack in your little one's favorite toy that's huge? Mine has a Lucifer (yes the evil cat from Cinderella :lmao:) plushie that he can't sleep without  Going to take up room in our luggage for sure :faint: Anyone else has that one thing you dread to pack?
How big is it? Could you fit it into a large zip bag and squeeze the air out to compress it? It's amazing how much air is trapped inside the stuffing. . . Just an idea.

You have such good plans, @Lisa F. Hmm. This planning is so hard. We're starting in Tomorrowland on our first day and then moving onto Fantasyland + Pirates/Jungle Cruise/Aladdin the first day we are in the park, but we're only going to be there from 1-7 before leaving. I just wonder if my chances of a Buzz SDFP are better than Space Mountain? I looked today on the lines app, and all Space Mountain has been distributed, but not all Buzz (there was tons). Since today was a party day and similar time we'd be entering the park, wondering if the FP+ availability might be similar. I am thinking changing the fast pass to be 2 for Space Mountain (me and my daughter, and do child swap too so that she and my DH can ride), and then FP+ Buzz for my DH and DS so they can do something fun while my DD is on Space Mountain. Then, hope for SDFP for all us to

this is a great idea. Zip Loc makes huge bags for this very purpose, I believe you can even get them with a port you can attach a vacuum to to really suck out the air... I may be combining in my head zip loc huge bags with some other packing bag, but do this. I spent the summer in Italy and we stayed at a monastery. People thought i was nuts but I packed my down pillow, very compressed. I believe I was the only one who slept the entire time due to how uncomfortable the pillows were.

kiddo still has a lovie, a little blue dog (looks kind of like blue from blues clues but is not, it's a carters dog). his name is "dog dog". he goes everywhere with us. He will not be in checked luggage though, consider that too if god forbid something happens to the checked bag, is it replaceable? dog dog is not.

I think I'm leaning towards Trails End because it looks delicious and is a new experience for us.

On another note, the other day my rental car price went down $30 and today our return flights went down $20 each (or about 1,400 points since I booked with points). I've been waiting for those flights to go down because I had a hunch they would eventually. I love being right :yay:

I keep posting them because every time I do I end up tweaking a bit, thinking about it more etc.

I would FP+ space before buzz, in my experience there is a lot more buzz than space available. BUT you can't COUNT on it. that's the thing. but those are the odds I'd play. You can sometimes get on buzz in not much time too. Also during the 3pm parade is a good time to catch rides, if you are not going to watch it the queues empty out a bit.

just went to see ride waits right now and buzz is 35 minutes, space is closed, but space is almost always more than buzz if you do standby.

It's bigger than a large ziplock bag... about the size of a large plushie from the disney store or the size of a real fat cat :P
yes they have a few sizes, L (3 gallons), XL (10 gallons) and XXL (20 gallons). a large kitchen ziploc is 1 gallon.

https://www.amazon.com/Ziploc-Double-Zipper-X-Large-4-Count/dp/B003U6A3EY?th=1

but you could also get space bags, those are the kind with the vacuum valves.

I have travel bags that you roll the air out instead of vacuuming. Which is nice because you likely wouldnt have access to a vacuum at a hotel for your return trip packing.

I think i'll just squeeze it in our small roller bag. :) Won't fit in the one gallon, which is what I have at home.

I just got a PIN code in the mail! DH is going to have a really hard time fighting me against upgrading to APs and planning a return trip in 2017. :D

Edit: I should also note that I also got my first medical bill from my emergency surgery also. Boo! I'm going to choose to focus on the positive for now.
