***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Sidenote, I think it was you who sort of convinced me to look up Boma. Since I dropped my 2nd AK morning and therefore the TH breakfast is going to get dropped, I decided to do a late morning Boma ADR on our MVMCP day and then check out the AKL afterwards. Then I have time for about 2 hours at Disney Springs, or just go back to the resort to rest, before MVMCP. So at least I'll still get a breakfast buffet in there.
I am still on the fence about my last day breakfast. Kona gets great reviews but the menu looks meh to me. I think while I am not super in love with a dinner buffet, I am in major love with a breakfast buffet. I like being able to graze on whatever appeals for my first meal of the morning and I like a variety. I like some fruit, some eggs, some bacon, some carbs and a bite of something sweet and if you order all that a la carte you end up having too much to eat and spending a fortune, so I usually forgo the fruit and will go for some egg dish and miss my fruit, lol.

plus. pecan bread pudding? yum. lol. I also like the african spice flavor profile!

Ah... you guys!! All this talk of Boma breakfast... :hyper2: I so wish we could work it into our plans without messing other things up. I think I'll keep it in mind as a last-minute addition once we're there if we're looking for something to do.

I'd do Boma if you're using dining credits, keep the Kona if you're OOP.

I was thinking we'd like a Boma dinner buffet better, though we both love breakfast buffets. But that is more complicated for our schedule. We often do a breakfast or lunch buffet once each weekend. Wake up at 8am, do the farm chores because the animals get fed before we feed ourselves, and then come back into the house starving. And we love the variety like you.

All the dining I have planned for my last day is an Ohana 4:05pm. I had a Trail's End late brunch until I found the Ohana and now my breakfast is unknown currently. Trial's End is going to be too hard to get too before heading to MK in the morning, which is why I was doing a brunch for after MK touring. Plus I'm not sure I want to wake up early enough to eat a breakfast out and then get to MK for 9am park opening. So I think we're down to just grabbing something at a QS in MK after an hour or 2 of park touring.

it's oop but with discount and tax only about $30 for both of us. Kona might be a few bucks less but not enough to make a decision on. with ordering juice, coffee, entree, kids meal it's about the same

Eek just had a thought! Since 12/7 is a non party night I should not make that my leftover day at mk...I should switch my 12/8 mk flow. Meaning that dh want have fp for 12/8 (on theoretically less busy day). Does this make sense?

Could you repeat the question? haha :) I'm following you that 12/7 is going to (theoretically) be busier than 12/8 (non-party vs. party night). But I'm not quite sure about what you're switching--is it FP days you're talking about doing a switchero with? And, really, just ignore me if someone else has answered this for you--I haven't finished playing catch-up yet! :-)

@areno79 and @jillyh I'm in the tweak H&V ADR boat!! This one ADR has eluded me for months now. Other hard-to-get ADRs have come and I've let some go. I've got ideal times for everything else through stalk-stalk-stalking and tweak-tweak-tweaking, even back-ups for the hard-to-get ADRs! But this H&V dinner has been the toughest of them all for me. :headache: I do have a 4:15p and a 5:40p, but am wanting 5:00p. Minutes matter! lol I think, in part, the difficulty is because there really are only like 2-2.5 hours of options if you want to catch the 7:00 F!

@Lisa F I remember that Disney theming is important for you and The Wave really lacks that...but the reviews for breakfast are outstanding (I'm sure you know!) I think we're going to do that for our last morning before we fly out because I can't seem to find a spot to fit it in anywhere else and really want to try it! Maybe last day might not be so bad to not have the theming? Sort of weaning yourself....off...Disney....slowly...?? lol

PS: Apparently the Wave is relatively inexpensive comparatively speaking! ;)

:banana:I am so excited! I swear I have clicked that stupid search times button on Be Our Guest 11,000 times trying to get a later dinner time for our last night, and I finally got some progress! We had 4:05pm before, and now I have 5:05pm! Even if I never manage to get any later time, that time makes me WAY HAPPIER than 4:05pm!

There's an Ohana 340 dinner for at least 6 12/5 available

People seem to be dropping stuff left and right. Just now as I was searching for chef mickey 12/5 I've seen dinners for between 4-6 people show up for Akershus and H&V. These haven't been showing up. My advice for you all looking for more ADR's is keep checking a lot this week! I snagged one last night for 'Ohana this way.

CONGRATS @Mal6586! Wouldn't it be great if we could bottle up how thrilling that feeling is! lol This is awesome news! :flower1:

I have a question. How long do you all "schedule" for Disney Springs and what do you do there? This is a big unknown to me right now. The only thing I remember from DTD on my last trip many years ago is the Adventurer's Club, which is no more! I've looked at most of the restaurant menus, but haven't investigated any stores yet. We aren't interested in the bowling, movie theatre, or Cirque de Soleil. So does that leave just eating and shopping?

We really enjoy the World of Disney store, and eating at Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express. We probably won't spend more than a couple of hours there. But, I haven't been since they redid everything. And yes, I'm old school and still call it Downtown Disney! :rolleyes1

@rasadkowski :bday:
Your a great Mom... but I understand how those small things can pull at your heart strings!

@Party.Of.4-NY>>>FL Congrats to your daughter!! That is great news! and more planning for Dad!

To everyone that made FP+ yesterday and today!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Three cheers for one step closer to Disney! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I have a crazy idea.... My daughter is a Harry Potter nuts. I did not think that Uni was possible this trip. Now I'm seriously debating taking a day out of our Disney plans and heading to Uni. Can you do all the Harry Potter Stuff in one day?

I'm an HP nut and have been begging to go to US for the HP stuff. We are only going for one day (on 12/7), and getting there before opening. We don't care about the huge roller coasters, but we are doing park to park tix so we can ride Hogwarts Express. I'll be happy just to drink some butter beer, use a wand, and pretend I go to Hogwarts! :flower1:

I'm still so bummed about missing that one last night. :( Right now I've got a 3:40 and a 6:20 reserved for 12/6. If nothing around 5 opens up we'll suck it up and go to the 3:40. :confused3

I wrote to dh this morning and asked if he would be mad if we dropped our dining upgrade, went to Disney, and ended up keeping every single one of our ADR's. He said, "Me, mad? No." :D

I know this doesn't make you feel any better, but I really know that feeling too well :( it stinks. But, I do know that for some reason it's worked out ok without getting that adr that I lost...
.......either it showed up again another time, or I ended up actually needing my later time that I had already had booked, or I ended up not even needing that day entirely for some other reason...or by not getting it I was focusing on something else at the time that made me learn that I'd actually rather have this "new" thing than the "old thing" . (if that makes ANY sense)....but, like everyone says...I definitely would keep pressing the search button often these few weeks...tons are being dropped.
Im really trying for a 500 ohana (have 4)...but in the back of my head am thinking that maybe in the end the 4 will be better....(if we're seated late...etc)...
who knows! :)

Hmmmm....well, I sure wouldn't want to leave Disney with that taste in my mouth! hahaha :rotfl2:

@JamieOak I second @areno79's Disney Store suggestion!! Great place to buy ornaments and t-shirts/hoodies among other things if you're interested in getting those. Also, I think Ghiradelli is a must-do if you're a chocolate fan! We'll be going to TREX (a DS must do). Thought about Boathouse, have an ADR at Boathouse, but I think we'll end up at Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express (promise I'm not stalking you @areno79! lol) We are also going to the 6:00 Cirque du Soleil show. We went in 2013 and fell in love. I know you said you weren't interested, but just mentioning it because it adds to the number of hours we plan on being there. We're looking at about 3:00p to at least 9ish I'm thinkin'.
