***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Hey guys! All went well on my front! I was pleasantly surprised. As of this morning, FEA is available pretty much anytime 1:15 on.
No problems at all with any of the other rides, which was nice!
And thank you all so much for the tips!! I didn't even look at the times listed at the right; I just clicked on the icon right away. Thank you so much for that tip!
Someone had suggested actually writing down the time you get for each attraction. I had my chart of what I was trying to get, but I didnt' actually write or record the exact one I got....
that would have been helpful to have when you went to book another and it said there was a "conflict" with times. Someone definitely suggested this this week, and I totally forgot to do it! so..do it!

So I am really very happy, BUT.... I asked my husband to keep the girls busy while I was doing "my business."
at 7:00 ON THE DOT my daughter comes in, "happy birthday mama, I made you this card." #($*@()$*()@# AHH! So, I was like a deer in headlights...grrr..sooo annoyed at my husband! lol . I said thank you so much!! I love it!! and I told her to come sit with me while I did the Disney stuff. But, I felt SO Bad because I didn't open it right away. After I booked FEA and 7DMT and got a feel for how to do it I stopped and opened her card, and she was happy. I still feel like SUCH A BAD MOM i'll regret not just waiting to book and taking the time to open it from her right away. So, I'm excited today, but I also feel pretty lousy

I think I got everything I wanted but left a lot of holes because I'm not too sure what to do. I don't think I'm running out of FPs since I'm not looking to hard to get rides (got FEA already). Need to think about it outside of DH and DS shouting 'mommy, are you done?' every 5 mins.

Got everything I wanted, but things were really in flux! the first thing I tried for was a late night FEA for the 3rd (our arrival night). Nothing available until later I went back to tweak and low and behold! a 9 - 9:30 became available

Also got a text from TP that a H&V dinner came available while I was booking FP. I guess there were people who were faster than I and already canceling ADRs! I dropped a 3:30 for a 4:15 on the 8th.

There's speculation that they aren't doing FP+ for PFH any longer because they could be adding Elena of Avalor. But if it were me, I'd try to FP+ Enchanted Tales with Belle; I hear the line gets pretty attrocious.

Glad it went well for you! I also remembered reading this tip and had my spreadsheet up on my 2nd monitor with the desired times and then filled in the times actually reserved. It was helpful to reference since it did happen that I had to adjust some other desired times because they now would cause an overlap.

don't feel lousy. I actually believe that it is a good thing that kids learn that the world does not stop revolving for them all the time! yes she did a nice thing for you and she sat with you and waited for 10 minutes. Believe me, even if she ends up in therapy it will not be high on the list of things she has to discuss with the therapist You are not a bad mom. there are times in our lives when there are things we need to do and the kids need to wait. It sounds like she waited, you gave her lots of love and affection and it's all good.


AND you got FEA!

BTW I think all of this availability bodes well for crowds. a friend of mine went to disney with her son a few weeks ago (september) and had no FEA at 60 days available.

You can try the modify trick later today to check times. That's what i did last night and got everything I wanted

Thank you all so very much for the birthday wishes I'm not a big birthday person, but this was just so stressful I had to tell you all about it! Lol! my daughter seemed very excited to be able to help me with Disney so that's good. I've posted her card up and I keep telling her how special it is. She went off so happy to school so that's all that matters

I have a crazy idea.... My daughter is a Harry Potter nuts. I did not think that Uni was possible this trip. Now I'm seriously debating taking a day out of our Disney plans and heading to Uni. Can you do all the Harry Potter Stuff in one day?

Thanks to all of you. It made me feel a bit better! A bit hectic here this morning (of course!) I'll pop in a bit to see how everyone's morning went!! I was thinking the same thing @Lisa F about the crowds!!! This was a completely different experience for me than making the adrs at 180

the ADR thing is different because there was a free dining promo ending with check in on 11/28 for up to 14 days so those stays overalapped with our first week of december stay, only those people had earlier check ins so their 180 days opened before ours. Free dining ALWAYS makes ADRs scarce but does not necessarily correspond with higher crowds. Also I read an article (maybe on easywdw) that WDW maintains 80-85% occupancy of their onsite hotels all year round no matter how low the season (they offer deals to fill rooms) so on site occupancy has little to nothing to do with how crowded the parks are.

I think @areno79 ans some other ppl are going for the day. It may be doable depending on the hours of when you're going and what you plan to do. I know the dates I'm going the parks open at 9am and close at 7pm.

I have a question. How long do you all "schedule" for Disney Springs and what do you do there? This is a big unknown to me right now. The only thing I remember from DTD on my last trip many years ago is the Adventurer's Club, which is no more! I've looked at most of the restaurant menus, but haven't investigated any stores yet. We aren't interested in the bowling, movie theatre, or Cirque de Soleil. So does that leave just eating and shopping?

We're only got it planned for the morning of our MVMCP. Mostly I just like to shop and snack.

Got my email from Touring Plans about tomorrow being my FastPass day! Gah, now I feel like tonight I will be panic planning and going back over my touring plans. I made some of them a WHILE ago, so I don't even remember when I "planned" fastpasses!

I've considered this. But then I thought that is a great time to get over to AKL to check it out and have a late Boma breakfast. But even after 2.5 hours at AKL, that could still leave me about 2 hours to explore DS before the party. Why does there have to be so much stuff to do?! I'm starting to reconsider the idea of a rental car...

He would see the same people lounging by the pool all day and night for several days. When I felt better to leave the room, he would point out these people and we would both see them in the same spot daily like statues, I tell you.

a friend of mine went to disney and stayed at AKL on the dining plan and ate at Boma EVERY NIGHT. I mean... I like Boma but I'm not sure I can eat at the same place every night. having to schedule stresses her. People are strange

Sidenote, I think it was you who sort of convinced me to look up Boma. Since I dropped my 2nd AK morning and therefore the TH breakfast is going to get dropped, I decided to do a late morning Boma ADR on our MVMCP day and then check out the AKL afterwards. Then I have time for about 2 hours at Disney Springs, or just go back to the resort to rest, before MVMCP. So at least I'll still get a breakfast buffet in there.
