***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

yeah, I was doing some research last night and it seemed that was the case. So I could probably order 1 adult meal and if kiddo is still hungry (if we went to the restaurant i would have asked for some mac and cheese as a booster since he will eat the meats but not the sides) we there are snacks at the MK. it's not like anyone goes hungry at WDW. also would have to pick up some ice cream beforehand since it doesn't come with it.

I would still prefer to go to the restaurant and have it there but if that's not possible we have a backup.
Great back up! Mine is 1900 park fare... But I'm not very keen on the food...

I hope some stuff frees up. This free dining thing is spilling over into our week even though the last day you can check in is the 28th, booo. I'm trying for super early dinner for 2 on 12/8 but can't book til tomorrow. like 3:45 right at opening would be perfect.

See, I didn't realize that Free Dining also had the ability to check in on the 28th until like two days ago. That totally messes with our week! Both dining and crowd wise. Hopefully they'll thin out towards the second half of our trips!

yeah i am not really keen on the food or atmosphere there (have never been, i should say menu and not food since the food may be just fine). but people seem to really like it. I might also try to book BoG dinner, wouldn't it be a kick if that was available but ohana wasn't? :P we'll see tomorrow. also worried about getting my signatures as well :P Narcoossees used to be a lot easier to get but it sounds like that one sells out frequently as well. It's gonna be a bumpy ride, that's for sure. I was hoping my desire for early/odd times would help.

the 28th is a Monday so in order for it to interfere with our week people would basically have to book more than a week vacation. I kind of figured that most people would be arriving over the weekend and leaving the next weekend, not checking in on a monday and staying for nearly 2 weeks. I know people DO it but I didn't think it was really the typical vacationer, even for free dining.... i mean it's not like going in november when you are surrounded by nothing but free dining. but anyone who can book free dining can do so up til the 7th I think, if I am counting the 180+10 right? does anyone know how it counts? 28th, 29th, 30th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th is 10 days.

Well...just made my ADRs. Pretty much got everything I wanted except for that darn Ohana! I put Boma in it's place for now but will still be searching for Ohana although I'm sure Boma is lovely, I just need Ohana in my life.

Others that I got no problem were Le Cellier, California Grill, BOG, Liberty Tree Tavern & Mama Melrose. There are some time changes that I'd like to keep looking for as some of my dinners are a bit too early for my taste! Also, will have to try and somehow add F! Dining Pkg to Mama's....is this possible? Or will I have to cancel my current reservation and make a new one?

P.S. THINGS ARE SEEMING REALLY REAL RIGHT NOW AND I'M SO EXCITED!!!
You'll have to cancel and make a new one. I decided to just go ahead and get a regular reservation so we can still eat at Mama Melrose, with or without Fantasmic. Maybe we'll use a Fastpass for Fantasmic - we have little kids so we aren't looking at Tower or RocknRollercoaster.

yeah i will be booking it as a backup without the package, although for that day it doesn't much matter because that is pretty much ALL we are planning to do. but doing the DDP so it is 1TS either way and i think the dining package seats are a little better than fast pass are? We are doing minnie's holiday dine.

I know the anxiety just keeps building!! I feel like I won't be able to get anything. My signatures are all in front of my trip (mostly) so that seems a little difficult. Plus I'm waiting for stuff that's not open- dining packages and new/ newly refurbished restaurants like Flying Fish and the new DS restaurant- Florida Homecoming kitchen... (Seems interesting :))

Ok, what telephone number do you guys use to call for 7am dining reservations? I'm going to try and call for the 2nd part of my stay and hopefully get my ADRs! :p

Edit: how long does it take to make reservations over the phone? Is the wait very long? This is usually the time my DH and I would get ready for work

isn't it just 407-wdw-dine? lol not even joking.

it might take a little bit as they have to enter your information.

for me too, esp since i think someone here said narcoossees was fully booked for her days too which may be the same as one of mine? But maybe that is just fireworks time (I want 5pm right at opening). Or maybe it was CA Grill but again since I am not doing fireworks time I had assumed I could book it right at 5pm - i had no problem on my last trip in 2014 booking it at about 5 months.

Man! I've been missing you guys, summer break has taken over at my house. Anyway, I've been freaking out and constantly thinking of ADRs & schedules in my brain and see that everyone else is too, so I'm in good company. My ADR date is this Monday. I'm ready I guess.
I have a Minnie's Holiday & dine question. Is that only at dinner? Or if I booked it at lunch would it be the same characters in Christmas attire experience?

ok panic averted. I just checked reservations for 11/30 for both narcoossees and ca grill and both are available at 5pm. So maybe what I saw was for fireworks times. Which is not what i want anyway, lol.

actually it's not. crystal palace, ohana breakfast, garden grill breakfast, sci fi lunch, yak and yeti dinner, are all already fully booked for 11/30 (last day I can check right now). I guess we will see and I will report back.

holiday dine is only dinner. breakfast and lunch are disney jr. characters. But dinner starts at 4pm or something. I am hoping that my desire to do things at odd times (later breakfast and early dinner) will help with my planning a bit.

holy moly I go offline for a bit and miss a bunch of stuff! ;)

So I've rejigged again but I'm feeling pretty good about my schedule:

Dec 2: arrival
Dec 3: HS - H&V breakfast, starring rolls lunch, 50s Prime Time dinner. Priorities are Jedi training and SW stuff. Hope that there are SW fireworks! We're planning to go back to BC for a break in the afternoon so Starring Rolls might turn into Hurricane Hannah by the pool.
Dec 4: MK - BoG or Ohana breakfast (flexible but prefer PPO), lunch QS (Pinnochio Village Haus maybe), Dinner at Kona Cafe or Trader Sams (DD in Lilo's playhouse). We won't go back to the hotel this day since we need to leave the park by 7:00pm due to MVMCP
Dec 5: Epcot: Akershus PPO Breakfast (depends on availability - if we cannot get Akershus we will book the Pirate Cruise and eat at Cape May), QS in World showcase for lunch and dinner, Illuminations
Dec 6: Epcot: Akershus PPO Breakfast or later, Sunshine Seasons Lunch, Placeholder dinner at Il Mulino (DD wants to go to either Sandcastle club or Club Dolphin - we figure it won't be hard to get a dinner either at Yacht club or Dolphin. Il Mulino makes sense to me because we love Italian and we get 2 free hours for her in Club Dolphin - or maybe Todd English Blue Zoo?)
Dec 7: MK: Cape May (if Pirate Cruise Booked), Lunch at Boardwalk Cafe, head to MK, stay late for nightly entertainment, dinner QS
Dec 8: MK: Ohana/BOG (flexible), lunch QS, Dinner 1900 Park Fare

What do you all think? ADR day is SUNDAY!

I just had a thought. Since Ohana is now an OOP meal for me... I'm actually just wondering if maaaaaaaybe I should do it as room service instead of making myself crazy for a reservation at the restaurant, maybe I will just do it as room service instead. It is about the same cost, $40 for me $20 for the kiddo... so maybe as part of our relaxing resort day before MVMCP we will just have a nice room service meal. only problem might be timing, I had wanted to do it right when Ohana opens but I wonder if I could order it in advance earlier in the day to be delivered as early as possible. This way we get Ohana without the noise and the chaos.

I mean I guess I still will try to get it but... we can eat in our room too. I might not even have to get the kid meal if the portions are as big as they say they are. It might be a way to self regulate a bit before going to the parks too (i mean not eating quite so much, lol)
We ordered room service twice there last year. I would definitely go that route if you can't get a reservation! It was nice and relaxing

did you do the ohana twilight feast or something else?

LOL, yes, I thought there was another number you can call that might get you in faster... oh well, i'll go with that... :D

Eeeek, scary... Garden Grill and Crystal Palace plus Yak and Yeti too is on the list for me... Hahhh, how will I get through the weekend!

Your plans look great! Love that you have a date night! :) All the Swan/ Dolphin restaurants seem to get good reviews but I have seem more reviews for bluezoo. It's something I am considering too if I do not get a Flying Fish ressie. :)
If you have a late dinner for H&V, you might not need lunch :)
Nice that you're flexible. I think all of us are interchanging Ohana and BOG to see what's available :) I have Akershus for Dec 5 breakfast too. Not looking for PPO but I think it'll still be difficult. I may just go with Garden Grill. :)
