***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I'd love to see ALL of the storytellers!!
We only saw a couple of them back in 2013 and I really want to try and catch more of them. We saw the Kanzaa storyteller and she was very entertaining. :)

And just scratch everything I said before because I really think I need more Epcot time now!!
That what we said back in 2013 and we are determined to catch it all this time.

Is anyone planning to go to see Whoppi Goldberg at the Dec 3rd Candleight Processional? We will probably be over there that night.

.I'm talking about all of those innovation and learning stations (a color one?) and buildings that I think are located there in the center? Worth doing? Or can skip completely?
You can skip them. I would only check them it if you are cold, or hot, or bored or it is pouring rain out and you need a place to hang out. The Colortopia one might be interesting though.

Can I ask a random question? Our flight gets in before 10am. I know we can't officially check in to the poly for our rooms until the afternoon, but I was wondering... Do you think we would be able to use the pool that time while we're waiting? Or not until check in. Thanks :)
We routinely take a flight that lands around 9:30 am. We usually arrive at our resort around 11am via the Magical Express. I would say that our room has been ready about 50% of the time when we arrive on a weekday. We usually grab lunch and head off to a park for a few hours before going back to the room to rest or swim or whatever. Since you will be at the Poly it will be easy to go to MK when you arrive. We will be at the GF and will go to the MK for Tony's for lunch and spend a little time at MK, maybe catch the parade, before going back to the resort.

Just a heads up - it might be too cold to swim in early December. It could also be beautiful swimming weather. I'm hoping we can take advantage of the beautiful resort pools.

We did HDDR in 2009, and surprisingly loved it! We were really skeptical going in, but the show and the food were a lot of fun. It was a great way to end our vacation. We're doing the same this time...going on our last night. I have never done Spirit of Aloha, but I would have if HDDR didn't open up.
The campsites are supposed to be all decorated for Christmas. We've never managed to see them, even though we've talked about it.

I'd actually really like to know this too. @Wood Nymph mentioned mission space has a play area at the exit and Test Track has a showroom. She also said there are play areas inside innovations but not sure which ones are still there and which ones have been pulled off.
I checked out the mission Space one at it is listed on the Disney website as Advanced Training Lab. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/attractions/epcot/mission-space-advanced-training-lab/
You can scroll through the gallery and just barely see the playground area for kids to climb around it.

It looks like Innoventions just has Colortopia now. When we are at WDW in just two weeks and one day we'll stop by and report back what we find.

That reminds me, I can pick up park maps to mail to anyone who wants them. Just send me your address and let me know what you want. We'll be staying at the BC from Oct 1st to 5th. I am willing to do research, too, if anyone wants something checked out at the parks. :)

I didn't have time to look at reviews yet, just menus and prices. Flying Fish could be an option for us also as a signature. I did watch the review video a little while back when it reopened. I think I want to get at least 1 signature meal in there.
I've heard nothing but good things about Flying Fish from people who recently stayed at the BC and ate at the restaurant.

That would be awesome re park map but would you send to Canada?

they (supposedly) heat the pools to 80, which is MUCH warmer water than I am used to in the northeast (either at the beach or in the Y swimming pool, right now water temps are 72 and that is probably peak for the year) the air temps could be cool but they typically still get into the 70's in december which is plenty warm to swim (but will feel cool on your skin vs. the pool water), especially in the afternoon with the sun shining. I personally find it much harder to go swimming in lower water temps even with very warm air than the other way around. If you are from the south and used to things warm all the time you might not enjoy it though!

Here's what I do when my DH gets a "bright idea" about Disney plans once I have everything set up ... I listen, smile brightly, say "sure honey" and then do absolutely nothing about his suggestion. If he does remember once we are actually at Disney , which most of the time he doesn't, I say "gee I don't remember that, are you sure?"and show him how to check for available last minute ADRs on his phone. So far so good. Maybe not the best marital advice, but it helps save my little remaining sanity.
I love this!!! Lol! I think it might just work! Except for BOG... I think this stuck a lot with him from our 2012 trip.... But with suggestions like this, have to agree with Lisa about your name! Absolutely and perfectly suitable! ;)

oh oh. I hope he isn't disappointed. seems like people are most disappointed when they build a place up in their mind from last time and the reality doesn't live up! then the sky is falling and the DDP is ruining disney restaurants!

Thanks!!! I'll definitely check out the site for Mission Space :) is Colortopia in Innovations East or west? That's two different buildings right? Or am I confused with something else? That's so great you're going in October! Are you going for food and wine?

do they still list the attractions open at EMH somewhere? if it is no trouble at all (and I mean no trouble, like you are standing somewhere you already were and see a times guide) could you possibly just verify what is actually open for AK EMH? please do not make any special trips to the front desk or anywhere for it. I will live without the info :) so jealous you are getting to go while MSEP is still there and sweet of you to offer.

I don't know... We went there when it was soft opening so I'm not too sure what to expect. either way I think I'll take a second (x1000) look at my plans... My last 2-3 days are as clear as mud to me right now... I wanted to do Epcot on my last night but now leaning to just staying at MK the whole day, have dinner and early night.

I think you're going to be pooped the last night. remember my xmas card :D

Hi all I took a few days break from the boards (busy!) So am 20 pages behind. :( question is the touring plans app worth it? I feel like it would help me.

Also I watched YouTube video of rock n roller coaster and tower of terror. I hate to spoil my surprise but I need to know if dd can handle them. I'm going to say yes to rnr and no to tower of terror (it looks like it would give me a heart attack!)

I finally got up the nerve to go on ToT during my last trip. It was cool, but SO scary! I don't think I'd go on it again. LOL

Lol I've written procedures for work so I think this shouldn't be any different. Check Kenny the pirate first and I'll try to put one together on Monday or Tuesday depending on how bad work will be in Monday :) like @areno79 work has been crazy lately...

Seriously...it's like they*know* we need to plan our Disney vacations and our stopping us. Priorities, people! :rotfl:

I like how you think. This is mostly what I do to DH, unless he is very adamant about something more than once.

I totally agree! It's like they know you need to concentrate on something else and interrupt you right in the middle of pressing the search button for your missing ADR! :rotfl2:

Lol, that's DH and BOG, mentioned it a couple times saying 'we're eating there right? Can we eat there twice?' :sad2:

NO

I see AK is open 'til 7 pm now for December. Was it 6 before? I was thinking so. Of course, if ROL is open I'd expect it to stay open even later than 7.

Yeah!! The 7pm time is definitely new. Hmm, if they do ROL what times do you think they'll do? Do you think the last one will be at 7 with a closing time of 7 (like HS fantastic at 7 with a HS closing time of 7)? Curious because right now we have both a tusker lunch at 1pm and tusker dinner at 5:25 and were going to pick one. We had been leaning towards late morning AK arrival (staying for illuminations night prior at Epcot so don't want to RD at AK) and staying for a dinner there. Now, wondering if dinner will be in the way of ROL? Obviously I'm not canceling any ADRs without knowing more but just curious what you all thought.
