***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Well.. It's all because of rol and my booking the mvmcp :)
I have a lot of options... And I'm having a hard time deciding..incorporating rest time, and the fact that different plans mean purchasing an extra day pass for everyone.... So, trying to save money, time, exhaustion :) and wanting to do the main adrs I selected early on in my planning....
But you guys know I'm leaning towards doing 2 1/2 AK days over 1
The problem is I'd need to buy an extra day ticket for that...( the 2 1/2 days)
Also... If I do the 1 day, that means I get the rest day before th mvmcp; which means I can use my fp for the party (4-7) not for the originally planned AK that morning.... I "think" at least!!!
I would like to get an early Tusker house breakfast, which I really think I'll be able to get.

I know this is really confusing and everyone must be so sick of hearing my problems! I think I'll have this figured out soon.. I'll probably just plan on the 1 day AK to make my MK fast pass, and I can always switch to 2 1/2 days later

The extra cost for another day is pretty minimal. We added one extra day for the 4 of us and it was $60 total, so basically $15 per person. It made so much sense for our flow and on that extra day we are only going to be in the park 4 hours. When I looked at the per person cost it totally made sense for us.

Are any of you waiting or searching for any more adrs that you have sketched into your final plans? I am really excited about fp coming up soon, and I am up in the air about what I should do...
I am for the most part all set with my park days, and I do have some flexibility with things like Rol, but I would like to plan my fp around one adr that I am hopeful to get. ( it would mean switching up park days) There is quite a bit of time between now and the trip that I really do think something will come up. But, if it doesn't, that would stink. What do you think? Plan fp around missing adr?

Yes, I'm still searching for an H&V dinner on 12/6. Right now the one we have is at 6:20, which is too late for Fantasmic. Nothing has come up, and I search every day. I guess my plan B is to keep our 3:45 on 12/3 (before SW party), then on 12/6 eat dinner at QS and try to get a FP for Fantasmic. Plan C is to go to the H&V early and beg them to let me in. LOL

I just watched as the TP reservation finder missed a BOG dinner that it should've alerted me on. Unfortunately I'm looking for pre-party and the time available was during the party. But in my reservation finder, I just put in "dinner" for the timeframe and I didn't get an email and the search is still active. I can see why some of you worked so hard for your ADRs just hitting the search button over and over. Since I read that on here, I'm doing the same today when I think of it and that's how I found the one that TP didn't alert me on.

Ugh, that stinks!!! Sorry you missed it :(

Just to get everyone in the holiday spirit here is a picture of us visiting Santa in MK on our last trip in 2007.

Oh my gosh!! You are so right!! I had the travel agent add an extra day to our package last week, and I just assumed it was like 100 a ticket! I just checked her email and it really was less than 60 bucks total like you said! That's crazy!! I feel so much better now! 60 is better than 600! More $$$ for shopping:woohoo:Thank you so much for pointing that out. I absolutely should have noticed that before :scared1:

ok guys, thanks to all of your help, suggestions and @SilSprBea 's post that made me jump for joy, I think I am officially finalizing my plans!!?? :cheer2: *now what am I going to do with myself? . ,,maybe still hunt for my one adr just to be safe ;) and that will help the weeding off process of hyper-planning mode; at least for a few weeks until fp day ?! I'm excited for all of us to share our trip itineraries once fp are done!

I was stressing out about the same thing and then my travel agent pointed out it was $15 per person per day, which is less than I'll spend on miscellaneous stuff if we had a down day somewhere else. In the disney price world the $60 was nothing!

Is it strange that I only got MVMCP tickets so I could enjoy more time on the rides? Seems like I might be the only one, which was the idea behind it so that I didn't have many wait times. We only have one day in MK our entire trip and that also happens to be our MVMCP day. I am of course excited to see the castle all lit up and will be watching the fireworks on Main Street. Maybe catching a glimpse of the parade while walking by. We're not into characters and probably won't watch any of the specialty shows.
They might not have all the rides open during the party. I know that they aren't all open for the Halloween party.

We will be ASSp 11/25-12/10. How worried should I be about pop Warner week?

I wouldn't worry about it. I've heard good and bad about pop warner. I was at ASsports in April during a cheer leading competition thingy and it was a little crazy with all their practicing and stuff, but not too bad.

I need to read from page 293 til yesterday sometime :P yes the thread exploded. maybe friday night I can sit down and indulge.

I need this trip so badly I can't wait, only then it will be over and there will be nothing left to plan :(

Hear that....post Disney blues are so tough. I always get it so bad. The only cure is planning the next trip - be it in 2 months or 2 yrs.

I have been reading reports of the SW dessert party, and they aren't great. People have mentioned the space being crowded and loud. Why is everyone just a debbie downer? Or am I just wearing rose colored glasses?

ETA: Our binder is coming along. I need add just a few things before sharing it. I may even wait till our FP day comes so I can add those and we'll be complete!

It's exciting to review all of our confirmations! So close! 75 days!

I think it sounds like they're trying to cram too many people into the dessert parties lately. It's too bad, I was kind of interested in trying to do one until there started being so many poor reviews.

crowded and loud is tough for my kiddo (he will zone out). I'm wondering if we need to do the private dessert party thing again on the 3rd (where we stake out our own spots and get star wars treats from the bakery).

My anxiety about flying is all about the airport security. I don't know if I can handle them putting their hands on me. I just don't know if I can do it. :(

@Iowamomof4. I has to suffer through this many times because I refuse to go through the x-ray scanners (no problem with standard metal detectors). The TSA people are just as uncomfortable as you... I never found it overly invasive, just annoying. And they play games sometimes and make you wait while they call over a female who is standing just a few feet away. I finally got PreCheck in January so no more x-ray scanners.

@Wood Nymph, I'm at a Hampton Inn out in Westchester (Oak Brook). I forgot I'm supposed to Skype with a friend from AUstralia tonight, so I'm probably not going to try to hit downtown. I'll probably take the hotel shuttle over to Oakbrook Center Mall, browse a bit, then find someplace to eat dinner.
Hi Amy,

It isn't very easy to go to downtown Chicago from Westchester. I hope you have a nice visit and your event goes well. :)

Found this tip in FB..... another cool thing to add to the list.

So here's a very little-known fun thing to do at Hollywood Studios - become an Honorary Citizen of Walt Disney World, by taking a citizenship test!! Stop by "One Man's Dream", ask the very first cast member you see for a citizenship test. Use the exhibit to complete your test (3 short questions), turn it in to the cast member at the end of the exhibit hall, and receive a certificate, button and your name will be written in their logs! Only 10-20 people do this each day out of the thousands that visit WDW - they don't advertise it, you have to ask. Have fun!

On our last trip we watched Wishes from the middle of Fantasyland. While not the typical castle view, it was really cool, and something I think everyone should see once!!
We did this in October. It is fun but I would also make sure you see Wishes from in frnnt of the castle, too. You can't see the laser projections on the castle from Fantasyland.

12/12 MK PPO, fly home...
You have a very long trip and there is a really good chance that you will want to sleep in on your final day. ;)

I think one man's dream closed? back in July

OK....I've been trying to stay up with this thread, but you guys are BUSY!!! Just got my mom moved into assisted living - past 3 weeks have been a nightmare! My mom's husband passed away and his cousins went into the house and stole all my mom's credit cards / debit cards, computer and took every piece of paperwork they could find - so you can imagine the fun my sisters and I have had trying to piece the puzzle together as my mom is almost 90 and her memory isn't so great.

I'm now almost 100 pages back! So....going to do it backwards as I'm afraid I will have missed something timely if I keep trying to catch up from where I was! Can't believe our FP+ day is so quickly approaching!
