***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I love Robo's maps! So clear and easy to understand!

Since our trips are so close to thanksgiving (those in the US), is your trip impacting your turkey day plans? What about the following weekend?

We don't live near family. We originally moved here (St Louis, MO) when I was starting school, and we've stayed due to the fact that DH loves his employer and position. So, for the past 2 years, we've had a "friendsgiving" with those who don't have family nearby. I'm hosting again this year, and it'll be about 30 people. Then the Saturday following thanksgiving, we have a local wedding to attend that DD1 is a flower girl in. The following day I have a baby shower to attend and then we leave Tuesday afternoon! I really have only 1 day to pack! Crazy!

It is impacting my mother's plans more than my own. She always hosts Thanksgiving and this year it will be at my house. We normally eat Thanksgiving for lunch and then play cards or games afterwards. We won't really have time for games this year because after lunch my parents will drive us to the airport for our flight to Orlando! Then they return back to our house to begin their first ever farm-sitting adventure.

I was invited to my first Friendsgiving this year for November 19th, so I'm glad we get to do that before our trip. We will be Thanksgiving-ed out!

I never did go out for Black Friday shopping, I do most of that online. So I'm not missing anything there.

Is everyone settled on flights now? We have ours booked but I keep checking the flight down on SW to see if there's any chance I can move us to a morning one so we aren't getting to Disney SOOOO late. At this point though, I think we're probably stuck with what we have. Thanksgiving weekend is not a great time to fly, huh? lol

After I moved my return flight from super late on Sunday night to early Monday afternoon I can finally say I am set! I've extended it as much as I could by flying down late Thanksgiving night and flying back on a Monday afternoon. I have over 31,600 reward points on SW now just from rebooking every time the price went down after my initial booking, which was quite a few times. The Sunday night to Monday switch saved 10k points alone. My Thanksgiving evening flight got pretty cheap, probably that is a slow day for flying, but the days around it are busier.

We will be flying down to Texas for a family member's wedding in January and I hope I have enough reward points to cover those flights now.

I've booked our flights on SWA but I check several times a day for the price to go down. I could get a cheaper flight going to Orlando if I book a flight later in the morning, but DH and I like to be on the first flight out of Midway in the morning. The plane sits at the terminal overnight and we don't have to worry it arriving late to our airport. :)

Yep, we're locked in. We booked months ago, pretty soon after we booked our resorts. Glad we did because prices have sky rocked. If we had waited, we probably would have driven.

we ALWAYS go to my BFF's parents house, then DH's aunts house - both live 2 hours away. We usually make a weekend out of it. I'm sad to miss that, but a day trip thursday would make for a LONG day since we fly out friday morning.

Our SW flights have went up since the day the fares opened, and stayed up. Our $950 flights are currently at $1300. So glad we booked that day!

Got mine last week so I'm all set :) Ours cannot be changed after booking so I do not have that choice anyway...:sad2: It's a good thing and a bad thing. I just have to make sure not to check prices again so I won't be disappointed.

Thanksgiving in Canada is in October, so I have no issues with that either :rotfl2:

I start packing usually a month before a big trip like this so I don't forget anything. Luckily I have a guest room I use for packing, but I think that will be problematic because my MIL has been staying with us a lot lately. My FIL passed away unexpectedly a little over a year ago, and my MIL is just not doing well on her own, so she's eventually going to move in with us. Luckily we have a finished basement with a full bathroom, but we're in the middle of remodeling it after a flood A few months ago.
Anyhow, I always host Thanksgiving at my house, then my SIL and I go Black Friday shopping; we've been doing it for 13 years! This year will be a little different because I won't be buying as much on BF, since me and DH agreed that the trip is our gift to each other. My nieces and nephews will likely get gifts from Disney. Also, DH and I will need to make sure we get the Christmas tree and our outside decorations/lights all put up before Thanksgiving weekend is over, because sometimes we procrastinate. :rolleyes1
Then Thursday the 1st will be my last night to pack because we're leaving from work on Friday 12/2 at 3pm to catch our 4:30 flight. (Luckily we live less than a mile from the airport!)

Yes, I booked on SW last month. Glad I did because the prices have gone up a bit. I still check the site every day or two to see if it's gone down, but I think it's unlikely since the flight to MCO is the last non-stop of the day, and the flight back to MHT is the last non-stop of the day.

Outside decorations will be done. I'm not sure yet, if I want to put up a tree this year. DD2 is crawling (and may be walking by Christmas), and I just know all day everyday, we'll be moving her away from the tree! Maybe a baby gate will do.

Oh that's a good point @areno79, we'll have to have all our Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving. That actually isn't unsual for us though. hehe
Would it be weird to have thanksgiving dinner in a Christmas decorated home? I think I'm over thinking this.

We have had ours for a couple months. Jeblue, they were $300 each round trip from Logan. We are there Weds to Sun. Going down is direct flight, leaves at 7pm, but DH is a teacher and can only take off 2 days so we had to go after school Weds. Coming home we have a 1 hour layover, but I'm ok with it. From Boston to Florida 300 isn't too bad. When I've gone over spring break it is always way more than that BOS to MCO.

@pigletgirl OMG, have you been talking to my DH?!?!? He has this idea that he'll decorate and put up the tree the weekend before Thanksgiving, which I think is no bueno! It just seems weird to have turkey while the tree is up. (Although truthfully I know people who do it.) My problem is I just can't have my decor mixed because I'm OCD like that! :rotfl2:
If he had his way, as soon as he took down the Halloween decorations outside, he'd put up Christmas. For this year I told him I'd concede a little bit and he could put up the outdoor Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving, but he can't turn them on until after Thanksgiving!
