***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Aww well I'm glad it all worked out anyway except the lack of sleep :) you can make up for that in the next few days! :) great thing is you got all your grocery shopping done with a little discount! That's super mom! :thumbsup2
yeah the storm seems to be hitting us hard now. Very windy and rainy. They stopped running ferries 3 hours ago but they ran much longer than the forecast last night would indicate. When will I learn that the worry doesn't help anything and it is usually for nothing? lol.

I was SO exhausted I laid down and when I got up kiddo had emptied the silverware in the dishwasher (one of his chores). We made taco meat together for tomorrow night (easier to reheat than come home and cook) and dinner for tonight. I showed him how to do his laundry too. It was a productive night!
We're doing the party on 12/1!!

@Talby love the idea of some kind of identifying color.

I think the SW party on 12/3 would be so much fun with you guys. I thought it would be easier for food/drink gathering and getting good spots for the Fireworks!
My kids really want to march out with the storm troopers... I think that can only happen if we have a group for the party. Some can go out early and reserve prime spots. Then the kids can march with the troupers (at least the older ones).

@LisaF so sorry you had a rough weekend. It's not like when we were 18 and could function with 2 hours sleep. Hope you get some rest and the kiddo is back in schedule.

I must say I'm kinda jealous of peeps with strollers. It was so easy to pack (over pack) for the day and just toss it all in the stroller. Now I'll have to be very carefully not to pack too much and keep things light.

I am not sure even at 18 I could function on so little sleep. 4 is kind of my minimum and even then I am more than a little rough around the edges. I could have slept all day but I would not sleep tonight. BF is safe in his hotel tonight, we are safe at home, the storm is pounding the island but everything seems fine so hoping I can relax and BREATHE tonight. I am not always neurotic!

I agree about the 12/3 party. I think it is a great opportunity to meet up.
We c

Yes.. I think my teens would love to ride them multiple times! We could do the party on 12/3 and just head to DHS on 12/2 for the extra hours.

I've considered getting and umbrella stroller just to push our stuff around.

Personally I would stick with AKL.

I actually think that your plan would work better. The rides are going to be dead empty during F! and the fireworks. You will probably have the park to yourselves for that hour or so (including time people are waiting for show to begin).
Oh that's great if that fits yours schedule! :)

Lol, I'm not into pushing a stroller but that's me. :)

Ahh... I can't help but think the Swan is more convenient in terms of being closer to Epcot and DHS especially for RD... On the other hand, AKL seems more unique. I'm so undecided...
are you going to uber to the parks? if so then it is probably about the same time to just uber over and be dropped at the front gate. You can RD Epcot from international gateway but then you have to walk to future world so you are a few minutes behind. I will do this because I'm staying there but if I had the choice I'd RD from the front not the back.

woohoo!! We could do the same thing as @Talby suggested and wear a coloured something to identify each other or make some plans to meet up somewhere on Main Street or the hub to save some parade and fireworks spots, possibly have our own mini dessert party if you all are up for it ;)
I made a booboo during MNSSHP in 2014 not realizing that the special party treats were ONLY for the party and the waffle sundae was ONLY for the party. so we missed the pumpkin waffle with candy corn ice cream or whatever (my child loves pumpkin spice as much as any middle aged white woman in yoga pants lol). he was so sad when we'd missed it but we just didn't plan for it. So he has been promised a special party treat! The peppermint sundae or the sugar cookie ice cream sandwich might have to happen - one or the other!

Planning dilemma 2459:
Ok I've been pretty settled on my resort choice until today. I just checked Swan hotel and it's less than USD100 more than my reservation for AKL and this is for a resort view room. (Loved dolphin on my last stay) The only other difference is I won't get magic bands with my resort reservation. WwYD??

MBs don't matter, if you get them for the second part of your stay they will work for the first. You don't need two sets. I love how AKL looks but honestly it is rarely my go-to. I prefer proximity to the parks. of course now you really would be copying me splitting epcot/ds area with mk area ;)

MVMCP: I just added a second page to our ADR spreadsheet where people can add in which night they're going to MVMCP.

SWGS: I also added a sheet for the Star Wars Galactic Spectacular Party. I didn't put any dates in, since they haven't officially published them yet. If anybody wants me to, I can go back and add the TENTATIVE schedule that we discussed (opposite nights from MVMCP, except for Friday nights which should have both, based on the schedule for October).

Anything else: Feel free to add other extra pages (sheets) to the spreadsheet for anything else. Just click the + sign at the bottom of the spreadsheet, next to the page titles, to add a new sheet.
you are not only a tigger maniac, you are a shared spreadsheet maniac! thanks for doing all that. I admit I am clueless.

@Candycane83 I would stick with AKL since it's such a gorgeous resort.
Thanks! That's definitely a major consideration... It's that vs convenience.

@Lisa F wow! That is productive and your son is such a trooper! That's really great!

As for Swan vs AKL, I realize most of my time during dec 3-5 will be at DHS... Dec 3 for SWaGs, dec 4 DHS am EMH and dec 5 for F! In between Dec 4 afternoon to evening will be at AK and Dec 5 Am EMH but not in a hurry to do EMH since it'll just be the safari we're riding during that time... This is driving me to really consider the Swan... Plus seeing illuminations from our room would be a plus too. ;) AKL on the other hand is just so unique and so Disney...

Hey all, I love the idea of meeting up at the Star Wars party 12/3! I'm down with it!
So just as I thought I was done with ADRs, I booked a 50s Prime Time lunch (in case SW fireworks are confirmed, as I think my 4:15pm dinner might be too close) and also Narcoosees dinner 12/7 (because I'm scared the fireworks are going to be so busy that night as it's a non party night at MK and we can watch from the restaurant). I actually wanted Cali Grill but couldn't get a reservation. I kinda like the menu at Narcoosees better anyway. They pasta and a Nemo cupcake on the menu so DD will eat something LOL.

I need to get a grip with ADRs. I have like 3 Akershus and 3 Ohanas booked at this point. LOL.

OK. Another topic I feel might need to be addressed (we've kind of discussed here) is TRANSPORTATION. I will not have a car so I need to figure out timing in terms of getting places. For example, MK ppo BOG - do I risk the bus or Uber? (Also, I believe you don't need car seats in FLA for 6 year olds?)

I can't believe it's less than a month until FP day! I need to SERIOUSLY strategize! I don't think DD is going to be down for Rock and Roller coaster so that makes my HS FP Tier 1 easy I guess.

I'm at Narcoossees on the 7th at 5:35. IMO CA Grill and Narcoossees are the most family friendly sigs... they have the most choices on the kid menu adn the most things kids will actually eat. No offense to people whose kids will eat it but most are not all that into "ancient grains" which are appearing everywhere. CA Grill made my son's pizza without sauce the way he wanted it. We are doing both :)

also HATE rnr. it makes me feel like my heart is stopping. i won't go on it again. even expecting it it makes my chest feel compressed. no way.

I am probably in the minority but I am in love with the epcot area resorts and would pick that over AKL due to location. I still find myself looking for something there my first night even though I want to do Sanaa and go to AKL EMH the next morning. I love the lobby but not as much a fan of the room decor. I'd be happy having dinner there and touring the lobby a bit but staying in the middle of all of the action. That's just always been MY priority though.

@Lisa F Glad everything worked out with the storm being a non-issue. I saw the projected wind gusts for the island and was thinking of you. So glad it ended up being ok, especially with school starting and transitioning and all that. We were forecasted for rain today but it ended up being a beautiful, breezy day.

@Candycane83 you are so funny with your second guessing. I totally do that too, but I think it's even funnier that you're doing a triple split stay and still doing it! LOL That sounds exhausting, but super cool that you get to stay in different places during the trip. Personally, I'd stay at AKL over Swan/Dolphin...just because the theming looks so cool. I totally get what you're saying about it being closer to Epcot though. If Swan and Dolphin were in the DDP and did the DME transport, I would consider it; I just like the perks that come with staying at a Disney resort. It's a tough decision at such close price points though!

@BDFmom Not gonna lie, I don't have kids but have thought about the convenience of having a stroller. I might get some strange looks just having a bunch of crap in it instead of a child though! :rotfl:

@TiggerManiac thanks for adding the party info to the doc; good idea to keep things straight!

I'm gonna miss the stroller. just being able to push the kid and let him rest when he gets tired was nice in 2014. we are going to be at a SLOW pace and that is ok!

That's pretty much my attitude too. I love convenience over everything but I don't know, AKL seems realily pretty... I don't even plan to eat at any restaurants at the resort but I figure since we are staying there, we have time to explore the resort a little...ugh... The indecisiveness in me.. I probably need to talk to DH after I get the numbers again tomorrow on a PC rather than just my phone...

Wait...special treats JUST for the party?!?! I'm going to have to research this because I literally had no idea; and I heart peppermint anything at Christmas!
I'm also :rotfl2:at the description of your son with the pumpkin spice. I'm picturing that meme with the Spice Girls, and the last one is Pumpkin Spice and it's a woman with leggings, Uggs, and a Pumpkin Spice Latte :rotfl2:

I hear you on the ADR's! I have multiples as well, just because my plans are still not set!
Also, I realized DH will not ride roller coasters (except for BTMRR, TT, and 7DMT), so I can use the single riders line for the big coasters and won't have to FP those. Hoping he changes his mind so I won't have to ride alone, although it's unlikely.

if you uber it won't matter. is that what you are planning?

@Lisa F Sorry you've have a rough weekend, but yay for getting him back and teaching him how to do laundry and getting a start on the week. Also, woohoo for a 4 day week!

What time are you looking for CG? I feel the same way as @Lisa F in saying it looks like those two besides the park signatures seem most family friendly.

I need to strategize and get my butt moving on touring and FP too! Instead I'm rethinking my resort reservation at this point! I'm going completely nuts.anyway I think I will book flight tickets this week and if ever change my resort... :p

On transportation I plan to uber for my PPO and anytime we're running late, lol. Unfortunately, even if my son wakes up early, we are a family that tends to linger during mornings. (DH says I like taking my time but I say he likes taking his time too...) regarding car seats, there's uber family or you can request for taxis with car seats or boosters at resorts.

Your DH and my DH are the same! No coasters! Well he would do Disney coasters but not universal ones. I'm on my own there! :rotfl2: I think that we would probably do rider swap at universal but only 3 at Disney- 7dmt, Soarin and tt... :)

Edit: I agree I shouldn't be second guessing after being decided for so long especially on a triple split stay! Lol! But it's so hard..
