***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

The only time we went to WPE, we had no money with us other than our magicbands and we were using the dining plan. I had no idea we were supposed to tip so I was blissfully ignorant at the time (and we had no way of leaving a tip anyway) but I felt awful after we got home and I was talking to a friend online and found out we were supposed to leave a tip.

Hey everyone! Busy day, no chance to log on and trip talk!

No, we aren't doing EMM either. We have a lot of late evenings (for us anyway), and I just don't feel like its the right thing to do this time around.

@Lisa F did you hear anything regarding SWFW?

Oh, if anyone comes across an Ohana dinner on 12/8, could you give me a holler if you think of it please? I have it booked on a different night, but would give it up if I could go on 12/8 before MVMCP!

Although I will say, I was shocked at the prices for one day at Universal/IOA! $300 for me and DH, and that's park to park because if you want to see all of HP world, you have to go between the 2 parks.
But still, I'm paying it because I love HP so much. It angers me to have to pay that much though. :sad2:

I know I just couldn't justify that amount and when I told M, he was shocked as well. A meal at Toothsome and a stroll around CW works for us!

It's expensive but it's really the same price as a 1 day hopper at Disney. For 2 people to get 1 day hoppers is $320. Just like Disney it gets cheaper as you buy more days. They really try and get the most out of the people just going for the day! It's really crazy how expensive these theme parks are.

I suppose, although we would never go to Disney that short of a time. For our 10 day PH, we are looking at just under $1000, which means $50 a day for each of us and the ability to enter 4 parks. Huge difference when you look at it like that. Honestly, we just aren't into looping coasters or HP(though would be neat to see).

I took @Mal6586 advise and checked for BOG but no luck :p

For universal tickets, it is expensive for one day but I'm spending 400 for DH and I for 3 days and would need to pay maybe less than $50 to upgrade us to an annual pass (for hotel discount which is sometimes available). I feel it is more worth it for a few more days which is why I opted for a few days there :)

I just finished reading 4 pages back since 4pm last night! This thread really moves!

@Talby thanks for the Disney springs! I'm leaning towards keeping my night there. :thumbsup2 I was thinking just to go during the day time but I don't know, somehow I think it'll be more festive at night.

Regarding ROL... I'm hoping it would start but I'd be happy with them just extending the hours! If they do come up with dining plans, I don't think it would be as bad as h&v. Just because I can still find lunches and dinners for Tusker house. (Just not breakfast)

I'll let you know if I let go of my ADR. I'm looking for an earlier BOG that day and will let ohana (3:30pm for 3) go once I find that :-)

I hearya on the EMM, I think that is why too - 12/4 we have solid morning plans and by 12/6 I am shifting my schedule later and that rest day will help, I don't want to ruin my flow by turning a sleep in day into a get up very early day.

I haven't heard anything but following yulilin3's thread. I may not be the first to hear it but if I am I will tag @Talby if she hasn't heard herself yet so she can set off the text tree lol

I wish we were going to disney springs but no time in the schedule. On the flip side, I am really happy with the flow of my schedule and can't wait to start planning adrs.

And I think I finally get SDFP after re reading thread. But am confused it I was going to use my mvmcp ticket for it. I think I'll stick to my friend's borrowed cards it seems easier (maybe).
yes it is easier, lol. Did you buy your mvmcp tickets yet? if you have then don't even worry about using them, you can't at this point. if you haven't I can walk you through how you can if you want.

I never spend much time at disney springs either (also I always call it downtown disney so if I slip no one yell lol. I just have a couple of hours built in there on one of our rest days for shopping. We will have breakfast at 'Ohana at 9:35, then over to DS where we will stay on the marketplace side. Lego store, Christmas Store where I will get my personalized ornaments, I love the disney art gallery there (is it still there?), Basin, the disney home store, and world of disney and the co-op. My IMPRESSION that the rest of the shopping they added are just high end stores that aren't disney, so I plan to stick to the marketplace. All of the new dining sounds fab too but I already had to make difficult cuts of park and resort restaurants so no time to try those this trip. Maybe some ghirardelli ice cream though lol. Then back to the hotel for swim time and then changing for an early dinner at H&V @4:30 with F! package. I'm thinking after dinner and before F! we'll have a chance for a quickie ride so might book a FP+ for TSMM from 5:30-6:30 window or star tours if kiddo would prefer.

In our past December trips (back when it was still DTD) they also had a Santa Village set up (they took photopass pictures with Santa but you could also take some with your own camera as well) and they also have choirs, bands, and other musical acts perform at the Waterside Stage area in the Marketplace area. With all the holiday decorations and music there definitely is lots of Christmas/holiday spirit.

We're doing Memory Maker and Universal. Plenty of good ADRs, but we have free dining. Not doing EMM, but hope to do MVMCP, if either of the days we go aren't dangerously close to being sold out. Just don't want to have to fight huge crowds and lines at the party.
is memory maker the photo package?

ex and I went in on a DVC annual pass for kiddo since he took him in february (spoiled child). It was $585 so my half was $292.50, less than the parkhopper, and it includes the photopass for the full year (which is like memory maker but photos never expire until the pass does).

Also there is a deal right now in the fall where you can get a $79 one day parkhopper ticket with an AP. I am SO tempted to fly down friday night, spend the day saturday and fly back sunday morning one weekend to see MSEP one more time but i think that kind of a whirlwind trip would be too hard for kiddo esp after school starts again. boooooo. it's nice to dream.

I have never spent much time at downtown disney at all. I used to before kiddo - we'd go to pleasure island sometimes lol. Anyone remember when they did NYE every night? a countdown and fireworks at midnight. The comedy club was lots of fun as was adventurer's club (although I only went there once, we were never among the super diehard fans). good times.

I must be showing my age now lol. I loved the name "downtown disney" though and was sad when they changed it.
