***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I went ahead and opted for the EMM on 12/4. The $209 was a tough pill to swallow, but ended up canceling our Akershus reservation to offset most of the cost.
My thought process was the following:
  • Free breakfast probably about $40 value for 2 adults 1 kid
  • Based off our weekend this Summer at Cedar Point, know DD4 will love SDMT. If we didn't do this probably would only be able to ride once via FP+
  • Being in the park early will let us get a good start without battling rope drop crowd. Can hit Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel right at 9AM now to make up for missing Akershus

Although I'll be with my nephew, I'm planning to jump to those princesses around 8:45 too!

Our reasons for wanting EMM:

1. I can't stand the crowds of regular park touring and will enjoy walking around Fantasyland with very few people to bump into.
2. 7DMT is my dd16's favorite rollercoaster in wdw.
3. 7DMT is enjoyed by 4/6 of our family and I might like it, too, once I get a chance to ride it during the daytime (it was a bit too intense for me the one time I got to ride it at night).
4. We all love breakfast!
5. I want to ride PP and WtP at least once but I hate to burn a FP+ on either ride.
6. It'll put us in a good position to get a lot out of the rest of our day, including a quick trip in to meet Rapunzel when the park opens just before 9.
7. Did I mention I don't like crowds?
All of those reasons are why we decided it fits our family!

DD17 and DS14 are beyond excited to ride 7DMT multiple times! That day we can FP space mountain, BTM and Buzz... and hopefully pick up a few good SDFP.

I am officially calling myself an ADR border.... I just picked up a CP lunch for 12/5. I'll get my hugs from Eyore! pooh:

Here comes banana man.....

I was wondering about EMM just now... Would it be a possibility for MK to change hours to 8am opening on an EMM day? I don't think they could do that, but what do you think?

I would SDFP buzz and FP+ splash close to BTM if you plan to do splash.

anything is POSSIBLE but it is highly unlikely. also highly unlikely during our time of year for them to expand hours without good reason (ie RoL opens)

@Iowamomof4 Agree with most of these too! (crowds, princesses, crowds).
Also, my nephew and I have never been on any of the 3 rides and he loves all rides, even the huge coasters (Dorney, Universal). And... you gotta eat!

I really hope RoL opens!! Do you think there'd be a dining package for it with priority seating? It'd be great if they incorporated 2 or 3 restaurants like for the fantasmic show!

I would think opening the park earlier to overlap EMM would royally tick off those paying for EMM. The description of the event says that only a very limited number of people will be let in for the event. I guess they could open the rest of the park at 8:00 and keep the EMM area closed off for EMM.

my child has no interest in princesses thank goodness. I think that makes my life a lot easier as I don't have to plan any character meet and greets beyond our meals (except maybe buzz& woody and baymax)

they might have a dining package but when they opened the dining package for F! after the 180 day window it was on whatever availability was left (which wasn't a ton). I suspect if they open dining packages Tusker House will be very hard to come by but Tiffin might be a bit easier. I am quite sure they were not holding back based on the off chance of getting it done.

Are baymax, joy and sadness in the same place? And is there a fp for that at Epcot? Which tier if so?

I wonder how they choose? I was wondering if maybe yak and yeti would be an option too. And if any of these are, we'd have to cancel our reservations and then try to rebook a package, do you think ? ( I know this is total speculation) but at this point, I'm more certain RoL will be open

No fastpass for these 3. I've heard Baymax doesn't usually have too bad of a wait, but Joy and Sadness can get quite long. We plan to hit them at rope drop once.

no fp for them. for us it will be a "if it works out" thing not a "must do" thing. He REALLY prefers his characters at meals and I am happy to oblige and amortize the overhead of characters and meals into one experience. I will ask him when he comes back but standing in line for buzz and woody took some convincing last time. he may not care. or he might. He is still with dad so I can't talk to him about it but I will soon since I need to get serious about planning FP+ in the next month

I'm glad @Tattylou mentioned the Minnie's Beach Bash breakfast. I booked a Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast for our last day because I found one for 6 people at a good time (still looking for that 'Ohana though, LOL!). Have any of you ever done the Minnie's Beach Bash breakfast? It seems cute enough but wondering how it compares to the other ones that are not in a resort? We won't be in a park since it's our last day. I'm trying to avoid Chef Mickey since we will already have eaten there. 'Ohana was my number one pick, but the Minnie Beach Bash does look kind of cute and the buffet spread looks pretty decent. Not sure about 1900 Park Fare (it's not available anyway) but we would have had lunch at Crystal Palace the day before and the breakfast characters there would be Pooh again.

We are doing this breakfast for the first time on 12/7.

@SilSprBea I have this booked for my backup scenario of the star wars fireworks being offered but not being offered on saturday (based on last year's schedule when they only ran them certain nights). I have read very good reviews. the food is good. no mickey, just minnie, donald and goofy. very laid back and not very crowded. I am not particularly interested in the theming but it filled a spot for me, but I just can't get excited about it. I want my first plan to work out more (maybe because I have to give up yak and yeti for it lol). they apparently have breakfast crepes though!

Going to be tough to justify everyone on my 'extras' list. Maybe went a little too crazy:

  • MVMCP
  • Memory Maker
  • EMM at MK
  • ADRs...CRT, Tusker House, O'hana, Be our Guest, Sci-Fi
  • Universal day

We're doing Memory Maker and Universal. Plenty of good ADRs, but we have free dining. Not doing EMM, but hope to do MVMCP, if either of the days we go aren't dangerously close to being sold out. Just don't want to have to fight huge crowds and lines at the party.

It would be cool but so many of the restaurants are already pretty booked. Not sure how that would work. We currently have a Tusker Dinner but I'd hate to give it up to snag a RoL package if they go that route.
