***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I see California Grill has a lounge too. And same menu. Is it within the restaurant or separate? Wondering if we walked up at opening if we could get in? Also wondering from anyone that has been if it has the same feel as the restaurant? Or should I just keep our reservation?
I haven't been in 4 years so I can't really remember... maybe @Lisa F can help you out :)

it's kind of out in front of the restaurant if I remember correctly. I sat there having a cocktail and waiting for our table to open up when we went to CA Grill in 2014. I think if you wanted to eat there you could right at opening, I don't remember it being packed - it was mostly people waiting for tables (they let you up and you can sit in the lounge).

I have a feeling I'm going to go overboard with food for my little one since I'm concerned he won't eat! :faint:

Yup. We are ordering from garden grocer. Same kind of stuff. Besides it's healthy options for us in the park to offset the greasy food.

I hope people don't start punking out on the star wars fireworks now lol!

Im all in for sw fireworks no worries.
I was thinking of getting a case of bottled water but I'm wondering if it is even worth it. our flight lands at 5pm and I have 6:45 at Sanaa. I could make it later but I am going to just assume that everything will go smoothly and if not, I can deal with it at the front desk and we will be able to walk up to Sanaa later. Worst case I lose $20 but I think if you are staying at a resort and eating at the resort and your plane is delayed they might be understanding. who knows. But I did not leave time for a grocery stop. A 24 pack of 16.9oz bottles weighs 29 lbs. 24 pack of 20oz weighs 31 lbs (thank you google). Maybe I will just squirrel 14 bottles of water (one per day for each of us) into my 3 suitcases.

Last time at disney i stopped in the little shop and I bought eggos for the kid. He didn't end up eating a single one. We did room service a couple of days and the rest of the time we had breakfast out. I will probably end up buying water in the parks as taking the time to stop at a CS and stand on line for a free cup of ice water that I then have to pour into my filtered water bottle that I need to carry around sounds appealing. We can get a bit of a head start with frozen water bottles in the backpack but then will probably buy as we drink them. Last time we bought 1 at a time and shared it (and finished it). Also the water filter bottles are not inexpensive either, they are around $30 for a good one so that is like 12 bottles of water right there. the savings might not be enough for me to worry about it.

what is everyone's thoughts on water?

Tupelo? Really?? It's my dream to visit Graceland one day. I think my obsession started when I was 8 and stole my grandmother's Elvis & Me book. It seemed age appropriate to me at the time, I guess! :rotfl2:

Yep! Born and raised! (With a brief college intermission about an hour away from 2004-2009, haha!) My roommate is a walking talking Elvis knowledge library. She has so many books and movies. I didn't get much into it until she convinced me to volunteer for Elvis Fest with her a few years ago. It's every year in June, and while I can't say I'm up to her level, I at least appreciate him a lot more! We've been to Graceland several times, but now on our bucket list is to go when it's decorated for Christmas!

Going to be tough to justify everyone on my 'extras' list. Maybe went a little too crazy:

  • MVMCP
  • Memory Maker
  • EMM at MK
  • ADRs...CRT, Tusker House, O'hana, Be our Guest, Sci-Fi
  • Universal day
Those aren't so many extras! We're doing all of those except for EMM, but we're doing the SW dessert party. As for the ADR's, like @Lisa F said, you've got to eat!!

Although I will say, I was shocked at the prices for one day at Universal/IOA! $300 for me and DH, and that's park to park because if you want to see all of HP world, you have to go between the 2 parks.
But still, I'm paying it because I love HP so much. It angers me to have to pay that much though. :sad2:

Releasing BOG FOR 3 December 13, 2016. At 3:35 central time. That is in 6 MINUTES. I hope someone here gets it !,,, the time is 6:30

Amen! I have a local friend who is about to start work as a seasonal and hopefully after that part or full time team member at Universal, and I am so putting off getting tickets until the last minute on the hopes he can get us a discount once he gets in and gets to working.

That is exactly the reason it was scratched from our trip... It would cost us not much more to go with a military discounted ticket for 3 days. We just couldn't justify it at all for one day after 4 straight days at disney. Neither of us can take more than a week off work so extending our trip to fit in 3 more park days and at least one down day is just not going to be an option. We've settled on planning a Seaworld/Universal trip next year maybe during Halloween time for the HHN. But the gf is the biggest scardy cate ever so maybe just another Christmas trip :).

I am so undecided about extra magic hours do you think it is worth the cost? Worried about people being let in at 9 will it be enough time to make it worth the cost to ride these rides several times. I booked a Wishes Dessert Party Plaza Garden Viewing as my youngest daughter has some sensory processing issues and thought it might make her less likely to be pushed and shoved and be able to see the show better. Now I am wondering if it is a better use of the money for early morning hours. Also is there a castle show and wondering will we be able to see that from the viewing area. This is our first trip so sorry for all the questions. Thank you!

Our reasons for wanting EMM:

1. I can't stand the crowds of regular park touring and will enjoy walking around Fantasyland with very few people to bump into.
2. 7DMT is my dd16's favorite rollercoaster in wdw.
3. 7DMT is enjoyed by 4/6 of our family and I might like it, too, once I get a chance to ride it during the daytime (it was a bit too intense for me the one time I got to ride it at night).
4. We all love breakfast!
5. I want to ride PP and WtP at least once but I hate to burn a FP+ on either ride.
6. It'll put us in a good position to get a lot out of the rest of our day, including a quick trip in to meet Rapunzel when the park opens just before 9.
7. Did I mention I don't like crowds?
