1st trip to Disneyland - Where to dine?

We've been to WDW more times than I can count, but, a week from today, we'll be at the DLR for the first time. We'll be there 3 nights (at the GC) with 2 days in the parks (w/ hoppers). I feel the need to eat at Ralph Brennan's and the Blue Bayou. Where else would you suggest? It'll be me, DH, and DD who's 22. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I am leaving for DL tomorrow. I like the 2 you have so far. Also, the Storyteller's in the GCH has a good breakfast. It's character, but the food is really good. You can order off the menu or do the buffet. I have also read good things about the dinner there too.

Ooooh don't miss Caranation Cafe on Main Street. Order the baked potato soup...YUMMY. Hungry Bear is really nice on the lower level by the water.
A do NOT miss is Billy Hill and the Hillbillies at Golden Horsehoe! Plan your lunch around their performance times. Pacific Wharf Cafe in CA makes really great soup served in sordough bread bowls made on site. You can also take a tour of the bakery and get a free loaf of Mickey Bread made fresh!
As for Character meals Goofy's kitchen breakfast is fantastic and Storytellers Cafe dinner was great also hth

Also..at GC go to Whitewater Snacks for nice quick service meals..and La Brea Cafe in DTD, and Steak 55 in DL Hotel.

Oooh good one we stayed at the GC in November!. The breakfast wraps at WWS are humoungous. Two grown men could share one. I did not eat one due to my egg allergy but dh and ds14 shared one every morning and said they were delicious!

I would definitely recommend Napa Rose at the Grand Californian. It is WONDERFUL!

Thanks, Dave. I made a reservation there for our last night. Now, tell me if we'll feel out of place if we walk in there coming from the park in those type of clothes? I am aware it's an upscale restaurant, but so is Artist Point in the Wilderness at WDW. And, I've seen diners in there in jeans and tee shirts.

I totally agree with the above and the Blue Bayou (sp) is amazing, I had the chicken and it was incredible!! HAVE FUN!!!

1. Goodfy's Kitchen (try the PB&J pizza!) at the DL Hotel

2. Blue Bayou in the park

3. Brennan's at Downtown Disney

It is a little more upscale. If you have a chance to run back to the room and freshen up before you go, I think you'll feel more at ease. I did see some "fresh from the parks" folks, but most of the folks were a little more dressed up.

It really is a great restaurant. The service was superb. Have a wonderful trip!!!

We love all of the places already stated. We also love Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone, and the beignets at the Jazz Kitchen Express are so yummy! If you are looking for something close by they also have a P.F. Chang's, Cheesecake Factory, and Buca di Beppo. All of which have EXCELLENT food. Have a great time!

For quick & easy, we love Riverbelle Terrace for breakfast and Hungry Bear for lunch. At HB, we love to go way around the side overlooking the river.

Another vote for Storyteller's breakfast!! Since we have a 2 hour time change, it's no big deal for us to be up for the first seating of the day. You'll have the characters almost to yourself!

We just went to DLR at the end of March. Strangely enough, the only on site restaurants we ate at were the Jazz Kitchen Express and the Storyteller's Cafe breakfast.
Both were good.
