1st Trip to Disneyland Paris - Need ideas for spare time

Hi all,

Me and my girlfriend are going to Disneyland Paris for Valentines Day next month. We are going for two nights and have bought Discovery tickets to allow us to do both parks in one day.

On the last day of checkout our train is not scheduled to leave until 19:50 which practically gives us a whole day to do something. Problem is that I have never been before and don't know what we can do to kill some time.

Are there any places (that are not Disney) we could check out but that doesn't require a lot of traveling? Shopping areas, swimming pools, leisure centres are a few places we are looking for but any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Hi

Have you thought about travelling into Paris? It only takes approx 35 mins on the RER train, or there is a large new shopping centre called Val D'Europe one train stop (or free bus away), this is quite large with an outdoor shopping outlet, and a sea life centre, cafes etc too (plenty to keep you occupied!)

I assume you only have tickets for one day in the parks.

Is it the friday and saturday nights you are staying? where are you staying?

If its the saturday you are in the parks they are open til 10.00 as we are there that weekend as well (studios til 7) so you will have plenty of time in the parks.

You can go into Disney village without tickets so if you want to continue the disney magic I would suggest leaving any shopping til the next day and spend the day browsing in the shops in the village, having a meal there and perhaps exploring some of the onsite hotels - you could have a drink in one of the bars and a wander round the lake.
the ice skating rink will be open outside Hotel New York as well.

If you want to get away from disney however I would definitely recomend a trip to paris or as others say there is the val d'europe shopping centre nearby

As all the others above I can highly recommend the Val D'Europe and there are also lots of restaurants as well and it is only one train stop from DLRP.

Thank you, this sounds like a good idea. We have 7 hours to kill so there's plenty of time. Do you know how much it would cost for the journey into Paris on the RER train? Also how long would it take to get there by the free bus?

Yes that's right. We have got the Discovery tickets; 1 day 2 park hopper

We ae arriving on Saturday and doing the parks on the Sunday, which leaves us with a full day on the monday before going home. We are staying at the Kyriad Hotel at the Disneyland Resort.

Yes, we plan to start at the Disney Studio and then finish at the main Magical Kingdom park as it is opened until 10pm.

I've been to Disney World in Florida about 5 times and they've always done night time parades & fireworks, will we see anything like that at Disneyland Paris?

i dont think the park is open til 10 on the sunday - you can check on dlrp magic

we stayed at Kyriad in november and really liked it

There arent any nightparades or fireworks at this time of year

I dont think there is a free bus to Paris- not sure what you are thinking of

If I remember right the RER was about 13 E for a mobilis ticket - there and back and unlimited use of metro while in paris

the Sealife centre is in the Val d'Europe but Ive heard people say about being disappointed with it

Sorry to be the odd one out here, but I'd strongly suggest you jsut extend your tickets (2 day is only a little more than a 1 day ticket)

As One day during a weekend will not be enough to see all of both parks in my opinion.

We were there for 4 weekdays (with no queues and you'll have about 45 mins for big attractions on a sunday) and still had stuff we had to squeeze in on the last day as we hadn't gotten round to it yet.

Are there any places we can go for a swim?

Unfortunately the Kyriad Hotel at Disneyland Resort does not have a swimming pool. I'm looking for anywhere nearby (swimming pool/ water parks).

I highly doubt we can walk straight into another hotel and use their swimming pool.

Unfortunately I dont think there is and you cant use the pool in other hotels as you need to show your room id

I will third saying about extending the tickets to two days as well. Would be much more relaxing too.
