Day 2 25th October 2007
DSiL had continued to be sick during the night
and woke up feelimg really groggy. DH awoke feeling hungry....good sign
So after a slow start to the morning we were all ready to leave for the parks by 10:30. Again not quite what we had planned but at least everyone was up and walking.
We headed straight for Disneyland and left some more layers in the left luggage office. It was sooooo cold. But again the upside of being cold was the perfect blue sky.
First off we saw Pluto for photos at the side of City Hall. The interaction was great here. There was a cast member on site and everyone queued.
was really naughty and kept knocking our ears off. Then he refused to have his picture taken, wagglling his bum at us.
After this we headed to Halloween land for FPs for BTM. We took a ride on PM, again walk on and then over to PoC which we walked straigh onto. Brilliant ride. We then went for a cruise on Thunder Mesa Riverboat, which was lovely but freezing cold. After this we were walking bak to use our FPs when we spotted, chicken little, Captain Hook and Pinochio. DN made a be-line straight for Pinochio, were a little group had gathered. Unfortunatley this was not quite the nice interaction we had had with pluto earlier.
Having read on the forums that there was a little arggey barggey, we attempted to get DN near on to pinochio for a photo. Bless her though if another child shoved thier way in, she kept standing to one side. So with a little encouragement we got her to the front only for a mother of another child to physically push DN out of the way and stand her child in line for a photo. Well that was it... we were so
DSiL said a few choice words to this mother, who was totally oblivious to what she had done. Anyway we made our point by standing in front of this woman so she could not take any photos. Rather sad for the child involved i know, but if DN couldn't get a picture because of this woman pushing her out the way, i saw no reason why she should get what she wanted. Now this whole episode upset me and DSiL greatly. We are both really nice people..honest. But no adult should ever push a 6 year old, well especially not one that is travelling in our party without taking the consequences. I'd really like to think this woman will think twice in future before pushing small children around!!! But I feel that if she was capable of doing this in the first place then she probally is beyond help. The other thing that upset us is that we had to get so angry in the first place. After all Walts dream was to build a place where adults and children could have fun togeher in "the happiest place on earth" and this woman had made us spoil our manners. Unfortunatley though it was not going to be the only time at charachter greets where we were to spoil our manners. 
Well we put the episode behind us and headed for BTM. Having been on both American BTMs i have to say that the one at Paris is the best by a mile. It was brill.
Far faster, longer and the setting on its own island was great. We had soon forgotten about the earlier upset.
After this we decided to take a walk into the village to locate Cafe Mickey, as we had made a reservation for 7pm as a surprise for DN. Wasn't hard to find and we decided to go to Mc Ds for a snack. We then took a look in the shops before heading back to the park and Discoveryland. We got FPs for Buzz, then me and DH took a ride on Space Mountain. Yet again WOW. The best SM we have ridden. We walked straight onto the ride and couldn't understand why, until we saw it was a true coaster. Autopia as everywhere had huge queues and we never did make it back onto here.
We then headed over to the castle to watch the parade, which as we expected was stunning, though very cold to stand and watch.
We then did a few rides in fantasyland, though Dumbo still had 50min queues. We rode Indiana Jones and found this to be a let down before heading back to Buzz for our FP time. DB came out with a mega score, indead we rode this 3 times in total and everytime he won. At least all those years playing computor games as a child paid off
As time was getting on we headed out the park and across to cafe Mickey. As adults we were excicted and DN did not know what was going on. We were shown straight to our table. They pulled a chair out from another table and tried to sit 5 of us around a table made for 4. This meant DN was stook out into the aisle getting knocked as waiters went past and that there was going to be no room for dinner plates. What made it worse was that when we had gone upstairs and were shownt o the table it was made up for 6, but she had split it up. We ordered and the first group of charachers came out, though not everyone visited before they left. Then when the food was brought it was cold. DN had 3 lots of nuggetts sent back before they brought out hot fish, 2 steaks went back as they were cold. And we waited forever for our sweets and even longer to pay the bill. This was not what we were expecting having read some great reviews. So after 20mins of waiting for the bill we requested our ammended bill again from a manager who was passing. They did give us a discount for the problems we had encounted. Once we had settled on a price however, she did not look too happy when we gave her the money along with an annual passport to claim another 10% discount!!
Never mind. By now DSiL was feeling really bad again. She had kept going all day, but she was totally exhausted and was feeling very faint. DN, was wanting to buy Dumbo and we had a bag to pick up from left luggage. So DB took DSiL back to the hotel and while me and DH took DN back to the parks. We collected our bag and went to renter the park at 8:55pm, only to discover DB had DNs pass.... oh no. So after giving the CM out tale of woe and asking if he wanted to make a little girl cry, he let us in and DN chose her Dumbo. Phewww.
So we headed back to the hotel and once again it was early night for eveyone, except DSiL who was still being sick.
We were keeping our fingers crossed for tomorrow.
