Next year will be our first trip to disney with my 2 little ones. I am thinking of making a goodie bag for when we first arrive at the hotel. I saw some nice minnie ears on e-bay which I thought I would put in them & maybe a costume which they can wear in the parks & character dinners??. Is there anything else I can put in the bags and any other suggestions.

How old are they? If they're not too young, the passport kits from Epcot would be fun, books to hold any pressed pennies and quarters they collect during the trip, their own cameras so they can take pictures too. Autograph books and pens would be a good thing for any age, especially if you're planning to do character meals. I always do a goodie bag for the drive down and put in snacks, coloring books, activity books, crayons or washable markers - things to help pass the time. These usually come in handy when we have down time back in the hotel room also. HTH:)

Here are some ideas:

* sunglasses
* swim goggles
* jibbitz
* pins for lanyards/trading
* quarters and pennies for penny press machines
* flip flops
* Disney light spinners/glow necklaces,etc
* pvc Disney character toys from TDS
* Disney t-shirt
* bathing suit
* beach towel
* autograph books
* small photo album
* Disney plush

It is also fun to parce the goodies up into daily treats,sprinkle w/a little glitter as if Tink left them when you were out of the room!

I am going to Disney with my 11 yo daughter in 5 weeks. We are going on a cruise first and I am sending down a package to be held at the Wilderness Lodge where we are staying. I think the gift baskets are great, but expensive. I will be including the following that I have purchased both in the Disney store and from Laughingplace.com:

Micky canvas bag from Disney store - $2.50
Mickey head key chain
pressed coin book
roll of pennies and roll of quarters for the book
Disney thong style slippers (I can't stand the thought of walking on the hotel carpeting barefoot where so many others have done the same!) Or just he plain flip flops
Disney themed pillowcase
Disney pajamas
101 things you never knew about Disney book
Princess crown sterling necklace

for my husband:
Dunkin Donuts coffee (he is an addict and I heard the coffee down there is horrible...although I haven't told him)
filter for the small coffee maker in the room

I'm still thinking of ideas to include...
"to go" cups
disposible Dishwashing cloths to clean out coffee pot

I also think it might curb my daughter's enthusiasm for spending lots of money on souveniers!

thanks everyone those are great ideas! My kids will be 5 & 7 when we leave.

I was able to put a bunch of stuff together for both kids (dd-6 & ds-2) before we left...and packed it all in their backpacks.

Did it all at local toy stores, The Disney Store and our local Dollar Store!

TDS has EXCELLENT sales. I stocked up on the character sets (currently on sale for $5 each), the smaller stuffed animals (3/$10..got the whole Fab 5 and then some, Mousekeeping has a ball w/ them!), family sets of t-shirts ($5/ea), spinny light toys, and other smaller items in the deep discount section.

The Dollar Store is great for stickers, pencils, crayons, coloring/activity books, flash cards and GLOW stuff (necklaces, bracelets, lanyards and balls).

Our local toy store was great for magnet sets (TDS now has some for Playhouse Disney), activity books, travel magnadoodle and other small stuff.

Everything was Disney themed except the magnadoodle (that was a Diego one).

I wouldn't bother w/ a tote bag... just another thing to bring home! Each of our kids had their own backpack and they weren't allowed to look in them until we were ON the plane! I held back the stuffed characters and brought them out throughout the week.

Have fun! Dh griped a bit about my "pre trip" purchases...but when he saw how happy the kids were...and how we didn't get nickeled and dimed w/ requests for all those small expensive toys and amusements... he was VERY thankful!

thanks for the suggestions I will have to check out the sale items in the store. I know what you mean, Im not even going to bother telling GH about these goodie bags and will find out the same day as the girls. Im trying to find things as cheaply as possible and will probably only buy things which I get a great deal on. I have found a bunch of great deals on e-bay today.
I bought 2 lanyards (mickey & minney on them) which also have a loop at the end to hold a water bottle, my girls will love these (they drink all day long) and got them for $1.99 each, I also bought myself a black tinkerbell one also got very cheap shipping so all in all $10.25 total for all 3 which included the shipping, . Im sure they will come in handy next year.

my sisters and i make bags everytime we go. We usually find everything on sale. We find a lot in a local dollar store, a lot at the disney outlet online and also our local Disney store when they have clearance sales. I just buy them when i happen to see them at a really good price. Ussually after we get into our room , the first time we are about to leave I linger behind and put them out on their beds . They are always so excited. I like to get things like those light up spin things. This way they can take them to the park at night and we buy them for a much better price. i hope you have a great trip .:cheer2:

thats a good idea. I was wondering how I was going to get the bags in the room before the kids get in there but I guess I can also do this after the kids leave the room also.

Great list!!!!!

I am creating a Bday Basket/Box from Mickey Himself that he will find in the room.
I am modeling it after one I saw on the Disney Florist site - it was a basket with Mickey hands holding it. So I picked up Mickey gloves from ebay and I will attach them with thread or double sided tape onto a box. Then I will fill it with Mickey ears (haven't gotten on yet), a Mr. Potato Head base set (so he can Fill a Box of just parts at DTD), Autograph book (that I will make from the DISign boards) and pen, Stickers, a small pouch filled with a small sketchbook and crayons to take to restaurants (I will also carry this in my pack at the parks to keep him occupied on line- he loves to draw and play tic-tac-toe), personalized bday tshirts, a fanny pack and water bottle, a lanyard, and pins from www.mousepinsonline.com , I am also picking up little figurines (Happy Meal Toys and the like) to add to it. I also found a small Mickey plush in the clearance section for $1.00 - (the only thing wrong with it was a hole at the seam -easy fix)
I am borrowing the goggles, sunglasses, glow sticks, and penny press coins idea from your list. Thanks

These are great ideas, I'm planning our first trip for this December and have added these to my never-ending list! :rotfl:

FYI-A good place to find small Disney stuff (like lanyards) is Claire's
They have a really cute lipgloss keychain in the shape and flavor of the Mickey bars on a keychain.

thanks for more ideas! I still have over a year to go but it is so much fun making up the goodie bags starting now.

I was looking at Disneyshopping.com and they have princess sunglasses on sale right now. This might be a great thing to put in your goody baskets! Thinking about ordering them for my daughters!! :cool1:
