Have any of my smarter neighbors done a cost benefit analysis of the Annual Pass with the DVC discount vs no expiration /parh hopper tickets? I think the AP will be a better deal, but would hate it if my plans changed and I couldn't go for as many days as I originally planned and the AP expires.

Thanks in advance.

Just to help you compare, I ordered a DVC discounted AP last week. The total cost was $358.71. That included tax and shipping. I got it in the mail 8 days later.

The standard AP with the DVC discount is a better deal, as long as you'll use at least 8 days in a given year. If you want to use 5 days this year and 5 days a full 12 months later (or whatever), then go with the 10 day non expiring park hopper.

Depends on how often you are going.

I bought an AP for myself because I was taking an extra trip with my mom that I wasn't taking with my hubby and kids.

I bought them 10 day non-expire and it will span over 3 trips where the AP would have only covered them for 2.

So see when you are going and how often you will use it.

Here's the deal: If you get the AP's, you will find a way to get your money's worth and will probably end up going more within a 12-mo period than you originally planned -- that's just the way they work (black magic, or pixie dust...you decide!) :teeth:

Each year I would not buy the AP thinking that I would only take 1 trip. This year I wised up! Our APs came in a few days ago and as Dumbo pointed out,the price is excellent.

With an annual pass in hand, $39 Southwest ding fares are IMPOSSIBLE to turn down! We have always taken last minute surprise trips when we have our AP's.

YEP! And then pretty soon you need more points so you can get the most out of those APs and cheap airfares! :teeth: It 's a vicious cycle - where will it end? ;);) :teeth:
