We're planning our first trip to DLP in Sept 2016 for two nights. Where should we eat? What should we be sure we don't miss?
We're big Disney fans with lots of trips to WDW and DL. This may be our one and only trip to Paris.

The new Ratatoulle ride in the studios is good.

Next year some of the rides will be closed for refurbishment for 2017 25th anniversary. So double check before ya go.

Definitely looking forward to Ratatoulle!

We're bummed that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed since we've heard it's better than WDW and DL, but we'll still go! DLP is not the main purpose of our trip next year but we're sneaking in 2 days there! I'm also looking forward to Space Mountain since I hear it's so different than the other versions.

I really have no idea what to expect as far as restaurants though. And wondering if there are any good snacks or food that is not to be missed. Mostly I've heard DLP is not as much about the food as WDW and DL though.

You really need to keep a check on the refurb and closures list http://holidays.disneylandparis.co.uk/eep.html As you are not going until September 2016, some things which are not listed now may be added to the list in the future. I have seen on another forum where people are angry that things were not listed for closure when they booked 8 to 10 months in advance but were added to the closure list a few weeks before their departure date.

Current closures for September 2016
Big Thunder Mountain
Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing
La Cabane des Robinson / Adventure Isle
Disney Railroad

Restaurants
First off, unlike the American parks, ADR's are not really that big a deal. You can only do ADR by phone +33 1 60304050 (French phone number) not online. They take ADR 60 days before arrival date. Most people only do ADR a few weeks before arrival date or at check in when they arrive or a Town Hall on the day.

It depends on what kind of food you eat. The food is very different to the American parks. Have a look at the restaurant menus here http://www.dlpguide.com/planning/dining/restaurant-menus/ They might not be up to date but they will give you a good idea of what to expect
Some restaurants, like Plaza Gardens have the same name and location as in the American parks but have a very different menu. Even Starbucks and McDonalds in Disney Village are different to American branches.

If you just want proper American food, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe or Annettes in Disney Village would be best.

If you have been to Disneyland and WDW then I would suggest places that are unique to DLP. We love Walts and Bistro Chez Remy which are unique to DLP. If you like Blue Bayou then I would suggest Blue Lagoon, IMHO the theme of the restaurant is much better as you walk further into the ride and so, unlike in Blue Bayou, there is no outside light coming in.
Enjoy your trip

Thank you! I do think Walt's and Bistro Chez Remy will be our two choices. Wish we had more days to spend at DLP, but I figure we better spend more days in Paris than DLP since it's our first time there too!
