As for checking in on-line I think the DVC owner needs to do that for you. It has to be done from the DVC member site. It should be no plroblem if they are willing to do it for you. We rented points for a while before we decided to become owners and it is an amazing money saving option.

As for your park attraction list - Jungle Cruise is a fun ride if you like sarcasm and cheeky humor. Also it's great at night!

Oh wow!! I hope we see each other! Are you staying at Jambo House? That's where we'll be. Would you mind posting a pic of your family on here so I can know who to look for? I understand if you don't want your photos online...but if you don't mind...

Hey Katie! I'll update as soon as possible after we get back!! Imageworks is after Figment. Innoventions is divided into East and West. They're located by Spaceship Earth. I think your kids would love all of those places!! There's a lot of hands-on things there. The Kidcot stations (do you know what those are?) and Innoventions and Imageworks were my little sister's favorites when she was 5. There are places where they can jump around and land on things that make noise. Or star in a video game. Or make paper. Or all kinds of fun, interactive things!!

I'm glad we're alike in our "no lists"! Michael and I just aren't for some of the longer, not as active rides/shows. But I know that when we go with my grandparents again we'll be doing ALL of the things on our not-do lists

I'm having all of the girls in the youth group over tomorrow night, though, so it might be Sunday before I get around to taking pics. That's a really good idea to laminate them! I'm sure your family will probably take it harder on the last day than we do. Kids never want to leave! Are you flying back into OKC? We're heading to Dallas since it was cheaper and a direct flight. My family and I will be there the 21st to the 26th. We are staying off property (thanks to mom's hilton/dbletree connections..employee rate). Anyway we plan to be in MK on wed (it''s my 30th bday) and then and probably monday as well to catch the evening shows. I think we are diong HS on tuesday and firday and epcot on thursday. We are trying to be able to catch all the great fireworks b/c we aren't doing park hoppers. Anyway, I have loved reading your report. Your outfits are too cute. I have made t-shirts for 2 of the days (tye dye mickey heads are drying..not sure if they will make the 3rd shirt or no)
I am starting to pack but have a busy weekend coming up also. Trying to do a yard sale tomorrow morning as last minute extra spending (neighborhood yard sale). Tonight I have our Sisters In Spirit ladies night at church (think my mom may have been planning a surprise b'day thing tonight ) so it should be fun. But I'll be ready to start packing soon!!

Hi!! Thanks for reading! I'm SOOO excited we're going so soon!!! Sorry--don't mean to rub it in. I'm jealous that you're going in December though--I've always wanted to go then. Really?! I LOVE our wedding date! I think it's just perfect. I'd never imagined getting married in the winter, but it's our favorite season (since it's so romantic and Christmas and everything) so it was perfect for us. Plus, Michael would have had a cow if he had to wear his hot tux in the summer! I do have a question...how do you all celebrate your anniversary since it's so close to Christmas? I'm about to update more...it's right around the corner

Yay! An update!

Well…needless to say, Disney World has definitely been on the mind since we leave in SIX DAYS!!!! Even Michael woke up yesterday morning and said, “I can’t believe we’ll be at Disney World in one week!” We’re both SUPER excited.


As promised, here are a few pictures of the awesome maps we got in the mail last week

They’re customized with “x Family Vacation” stuff everywhere. It made me smile so huge.

I accidentally made this picture smaller…oops. The maps are double-sided with one park on each side. Our “favorites” are marked with yellow dots, and the other attractions are marked with blue dots.

It gave us a little sticker to put on our resort. I must admit, I probably got a little too excited when I stuck it on AKL!

I also wanted to show you all my notecards! I don’t even care that my husband, dad, brother and plenty of other people make fun of me about them…I think they’re going to come in really handy!

I typed them up/made tables in InDesign and then printed them out on 3x5 notecards. I think these will be a perfect way to keep track of all of this little info while we’re in the parks.

From Top Right, clockwise: 1) Detailed Park Plan: I’ve listed a general plan for each day—i.e. Rope drop at EFW, Afternoon Break, dinner and more at EFW, MK for Wishes and Spectro. 2) Snacks: I wasn’t kidding when I said I want to try all of the yummy snacks you all have talked about! 3) Disney Dining: I’ve listed out where we’re eating each meal. On the right-hand side, I’ve left a space to write in how many credits we used at each place. On the back of this card is a handy little tipping sheet I found on the DIS. 4) Reservation Numbers: I’ve listed the restaurant (or tour), time, and ressie #. This way, if I need to call and change something, I’ll have it handy.

I’ll carry these with me into the parks. And since they’re so small, they don’t take up much room at all!


I also made little cheat cards for each of the parks. They pretty much list out what I typed for our plans. I’ve included tips for different rides, show times, etc. Hopefully these will come in handy as we go throughout the parks.

Yesterday was also the day that we…drumroll please…pulled out the suitcases!!!!

Let me just say, our big suitcase is truly BIG! Michael started joking about how he could zip me up in it and ship me to Disney… Well…

I almost fit!


We decided that since our suitcase is so huge, we’ll try to pack both of us (our clothes…not literally us) in it and then take my purse, a small suitcase, and a backpack for our carry-ons. We’ll see if this works or not. I think it should. But we won’t know until we pack a little more.

And then it was time to pull out the Packing List!!

We didn’t necessarily get a lot crossed off the list, but we got a lot of the tedious things accomplished. We packed up all of the snacks (by the way, do these have to be in ziplock baggies too? I couldn’t remember…), started/almost finished most of the quart-sized baggies with our liquids for the carry-ons, & packed some of the non-clothing items like meds and liquids we’ll be taking in our checked bag.

So all in all, it was a very productive weekend!



On a closing note, here’s a few pictures of our countdown calendar! Keep in mind, this morning there’s actually another head crossed off!

I used my mom's name and the reservation number that the DVC owner she is renting from gave her. Are you using the last name?
If it is not working you might want to contact the DVC owner and make sure he switched the reservation to your name.

Love your notecards! I do something similar. I laminate mine with contact paper - because of the sudden downpours and water rides you never know when the paper will get wet.
