Well - another hot start to the day - and yet another huge breakfast consumed! Not the best idea before going swimming but Hey! were on holiday!!
We get to Blizzard Beach at 9.30 ish and park our equipment at the nearest available set of deck-chairs.
Then were off like the possessed family that we are - intent on packing in as much as possible in the shortest time available!!
The park is great fun - but more importantly - after our initial surge up the Blizzar Beach mountain to come hurtling down the slides - we can relax and chill out for a few hours.
The Lazy Creek is an absolute Godsend - just lying there in a rubber ring as the current gently sweeps you around the park is brilliant. Why can't we build water parks like this in the U.K.?
We spend the rest of our time here just relaxing (not the kids of course - just us old's!)
DF has decided to stay at the villa today and has a lie in. I'm glad about this as I feel that I may be pushing the pace a bit too much.
Anyway - we return to the villa to find him in his more familiar role of surfing the T.V. channels!
DS1 wants a game of golf! DN does not and sulks begin to set in.
I do the decent (but stupid) thing and volunteer to stand in.
We hire the clubs and buggy (not bad price - $40 each) and set off into the searing heat - 3.00 p.m. and it's @ 95.c !!!! We take two bottles of water each which are ice cold but by the second hole are up to room temperature !
Highlands Reserve is a great course - excellent condition and even quite undulating.
As we pass our villa on the 10th fairway DW & DD come rushing over to greet us - unfortunately they did not bring anything cold to drink but I suppose the thought was nice!
We tee off on the 14th (the shortest par 3 on the course) with an audience of a four ball standing on the 15th tee. I hate that - you go thru all the usual set up proceedures and realy look the part until you top the ball off the tee and duff it 10 yards into the rough! BUT - on this occasion - I hit a beauty - a nine iron off the tee lands with a touch of back spin and drops to 18 inches from the hole. A small ripple of applause from the four ball and my DS almost faints on the spot - I stride away trying to look cool and desperately suppressing the urge to scream with delight....
We finish off without loosing any more balls and head back to the villa. It takes approximately 3.5 seconds to open the door / get my clothes off / get into the pool.....AAHHH! Bliss.....
We round off the day with a trip to the 192 Market for a spot of retail therapy and then back to bed.
Tomorrow its ......... I dont know - lets wait and see how we feel in the morning.......
