The choices are very overwhelming, especially when you start reading the mixed reviews!

I would REALLY appreciate some feedback on my choices. We have 6 TS available (but are combining 2 to eat at Cinderella's RT).

-Supercalifragilistic breakfast @ 1900 Park Fare
-Dinner at Cinderella's Round Table
-Breakfast at Playhouse Disney, Hollywood and Vine
-Breakfast Chef Mickey's
-Dinner at Whispering Canyon

Keeping my kids' ages in mind, are these good choices? I want to make each dining experience as magical as possible for them! Are there any substitutions that you would make?

We are going in August, if that makes a difference.

Thanks so much for any advice!

I would switch Cinderella's Round Table to breakfast or lunch to see the Princesses. I like the dinner for adults, but I think the kids would prefer the breakfast/lunch character interaction more.

I would ditch Chef Mickey and change it to Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. LOVE Donald's Safari Breakfast.

I would ditch Hollywood and Vine and change and change it to the Crystal Palace. Who doesn't love Pooh?

Of course, these are just my favorites. I'm not at all impartial, lol. :goodvibes

I just want to add, for a 3 year old and 7 year old, in the end, all of the choices well be amazing and magical. pixiedust:

My kids were five and almost three when we went in 2007, and they loved Chef Mickey's!! We haven't tried Donald's Safari Breakfast so we can't compare, but I'm desperately trying to get an ADR into Chef Mickey's this time around :goodvibes

I could be wrong, but I thought I read that Cinderella's Castle has the princesses at breakfast, lunch, AND dinner now. I wouldn't change that before calling to confirm who (if anyone) is at dinner.

I haven't been to your other choices so I can't comment first-hand, but they all look fantastic!

Last thing, I wanted to second the other poster's opinion about Crystal Palace. Our kids aren't huge Pooh fans to begin with, but they had a lot of fun here, the food is outstanding, and Tigger was amazing with his silliness! The kids LOVED him! If for some reason you're second guessing any of your choices (again, all of which seem fabulous!), Crystal Palace is worth considering :thumbsup2

I think the kids will really enjoy the character meals that you chose, and you will appreciate the character interaction while resting rather than standing in long lines in the parks.

I want to add that I think Crystal Palace is one of the best character meals -- Pooh and friends in a lovely glass building! I would consider adding it to the mix.

Also, we ate at WCC recently, and it was lots of fun! Another fun place like it (without characters, but with fun stuff for the kiddies) is 'Ohana at the Poly.

Good luck with your decisions -- I think you made good choices and your kids will be thrilled!:goodvibes

These are all GREAT choices. WCC is family favorite: be sure to ask for ketchup sometime duing your meal. :rotfl:

I think Crystal Palace is a better buffet than H&V, but that is your best choice at Hollywood Studios.

It looks like you've done your research and made nice choices for your little people. Hope you have a great time!

I might ditch Whispering Canyon and look at Akershus in Epcot (if you have a park day planned there) for more Princess interaction. It doesn't have the same cachet as eating in the Castle, but it is more relaxed and an easier reservation to get.

My DDs loved both Chef Mickey's for dinner and Crystal Palace for lunch. Even with not a great deal of exposure to Winnie the Pooh and friends, they went pretty crazy for those characters at CP.

Enjoy!

-Supercalifragilistic breakfast @ 1900 Park Fare I vote YES!
-Dinner at Cinderella's Round Table I vote YES!
-Breakfast at Playhouse Disney, Hollywood and Vine <- Getting ready to cancel this one for our upcoming trip. JoJo and Goliath are still there, at least until October 2010 (so it appears) and Handy Manny will be taking over.
-Breakfast Chef Mickey's I vote YES!
-Dinner at Whispering Canyon I vote YES!

What about the Winnie-the-Pooh characters at Crystal Palace?
Princess Storybook dining at Akershus (for breakfast) at the Norway pavillion at EP???

-Supercalifragilistic breakfast @ 1900 Park Fare - never done
-Dinner at Cinderella's Round Table - never done, 2 credits!!!
-Breakfast at Playhouse Disney, Hollywood and Vine done a few times, food is very average, interaction is pretty good.-Breakfast Chef Mickey's- about the same as Hollywood and Vine..
-Dinner at Whispering Canyon - Done, a very good place to eat.. interaction is good, food is good, theme is very entertaining.

I would suggest you look into:
1. Crystal Palace for breakfast- great character interaction, good food.
2. Breakfast at Ohana's- Same as Crystal Palace
3. Sci Fi Diner- GREAT THEMING.. the kids will love the "drive in"
4. Ohana's for dinner- simply some of the best food in Disney IMHO.
5. Mama Melrose- Great italian food.
6. Earl of Sandwich- Great Sandwiches...
7. T-rex - Great theming.. good food.

We are going in August, if that makes a difference.

Thanks so much for any advice!

Good luck with it!

We loved Chef Mickey's Breakfast, did it both times we went last summer.

We also did both breakfast and dinner at the castle and they were BOTH great. Some people don't enjoy the dinner as much, but honestly the little show they put on was almost more fun then just having the princesses come around to the tables like they did for breakfast. My 1 year old couldn't get enough of the mice, and they loved him too because he was so excited by them.

Whispering Canyon was an absolute blast. Our 4 year old(at the time) loved it too, so I think that's a great choice.

Just a suggestion. I might switch out your breakfast at Hollywood and Vine or 1900 Park Fare unless you got a time really early before the park opens.
I think the one mistake we made was doing too many breakfasts, which wasted a lot of time in getting going. In the summer, the early morning is the least busy in the park and not as hot as later in the day. That's the time you want to get in those parks and get on those rides.

I'd maybe do a lunch or Dinner at Crystal Palace or Hollywood and Vine(do they do character lunches?) so you can have a break from the heat and some down time.

Have fun, you'll have a blast no matter what you choose to do.

I would skip Hollywood & Vine, unless your kids are big Little Einsteins fans. Of all the character meals we did last trip, (4) that was the one we could have done without.

We loved,as someone else said, Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House, and Crystal Palace (though we have always done lunch & dinner there, never breakfast. But excellent food, and great character interaction.)

I personally didnt think CRT was worth 2 credits, but I know many have dreams of eating in the castle! Askershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot also has Princess Breakfast, lunch & dinner and is only 1 credit.

We love Whispering Canyon Cafe! Have been there 3 times for dinner and it is a blast for kids and adults!

We loved dinner at Chef Mickeys and loved it, never done breakfast.

We've never done 1900 Park Fare.

Other choices that appeal to young kids: Ohana(breakfast or dinner), Coral Reef, Sci-Fi (getting to eat in a car!).

Whichever you choose, I'm sure the kids will have a blast!!! I made my ADRs 180 days out but have changed a few of them since because I can never make up my mind!

Thank you so much for all of the feedback!

1900 Park Fare - definitely want to keep that since I think the kids will get a kick out of Mary Poppins. Plus I heard that it's a good buffet.

Cinderella's RT - I can't pass up having dd eat in a castle.

Playhouse Disney @ H&V - Does anyone know when Handy Manny is being added? Ds LOVES him, but doesn't know who JoJo or Little Einsteins are. I might switch this.

Chef Mickey's - glad to have all the good feedback! Ds loves Mickey!

I was debating WCC, but I'm glad to have all the great feedback.

I also thought of Crystal Palace, but neither child is a Pooh fan.

If I do switch H&V, I'm thinking either the sci-fi one or the Prime Time (just to stay at Hollywood Studios), but I'd prefer dinner.

The reason for the late breakfasts are 2-fold: 1. None of us are morning people and I'm worried about being late and missing the res.
2. I'm hoping that the food will act as a "brunch", having us spend less money.

I so appreciate everyone's thoughts!

We love SciFi -- it's so cool in there -- well themed, fun decor, and funny (really not scary) movies on the big screen. IMO it's also the quietest theme park restaurant at WDW since the kids are all listening to the drive in movie clips.

They have great shakes there, plus great burgers and fries. The burgers are only on the lunch menu, but many people here have reported that they were able to order them for dinner anyway.

Playhouse Disney @ H&V - Does anyone know when Handy Manny is being added? Ds LOVES him, but doesn't know who JoJo or Little Einsteins are. I might switch this.

I've read conflicting reports on the arrival of Manny. Some are saying next week and then today, I heard not until October. I think I would hold on the ADR until next week and see what happens.
