Since I gained so much knowledge from these myself, I feel its only fair to do a high and lows myself:
we traveled by Eurostar on the 13th and other than a few weather delays it went smoothly, horrible old train and an experience I don't want to do again, simply because of the sensation you feel travelling at such high speed.
we arrived at Disney with just 1 hr delay and gladly decided to go right to the hotel (Santa Fe) and get settled in.
we used the shuttle bus and after reading about how busy they are, got myself ready for a squeeze, it was busy however we didnt have a problem getting on and getting a seat, they are big buses and was pleased to discover you have a bus per hotel, I thought it was just one that went to all the hotels on the same route.
so onto the highs and lows:
Highs: Santa Fe offered just what you need, a place that's warm and is ideal to rest once your body is screaming for a rest. our room although not a cars one, we got a lovely clean and warm room.
Cast Members: from the Disney express right through to the cleaners, I am pleased to say these members of staff were amazing, they truly made our experience, and i found especially on the tower of terror they remained in character throughout and had me at times in fits of laughter.
Rides: Wow just brilliant, the amount of people that are going on these rides hour by hour, they are as clean as they can be, we experienced a few rides that had broken down, but the staff were excellent at explaining the problem and tried hard to get them running again quickly. every ride was fab, Space Mountain knocked me for six but even that had lots of Disney Magic!
Food: portions were again brilliant, when you think about everything you get we all agreed it was value for money we ate at the following - King ludwigs, Annettes Diner, Rainforest Cafe, Planet Hollywood and Chuck Wagon.
Dreams: WOW not a lot to say...amazing don't miss it!
Studios: the shows are just full of Disney Magic and well worth doing. we all left with all smiles!
Lows:
Queues - or should I say the push....not a pleasant experience, I felt at times completely invisible, no one was aware of personal space, and at times I wanted to slap someone!!
I did feel like they packed you into rides, Armageddon for example wasn't very busy however they seemed to wait until you breath before they started it. another one is the stunt show, people pushing and shoving until you really couldn't move, and once inside they is just loads of seats and the need to panic isn't necessary, I dread to think what would happen is something happened and you needed to get out!
Snacks: Not a lot of places just to get a snack, everything was meals and at times we were hungry
Characters: I didn't like the fact they just pick anyone who is waiting regardless of how long they were there, at times we again felt invisible and others were chosen who had just arrived before those children who had clearly waited much longer.
that's it really, i dread to think how busy it must get during peak periods it was packed while we were there, some queues for rides were over 120 minutes at the weekend. breakfast took forever, BUT regardless of the amount of people everyone was treated the same, the staff looked in control and rarely stressed even when some people complained.
It was cold, wet and at times my feet hurt so much I wanted to cry BUT I loved every minute of it, if you are prepared to queue and wait, be pushed and pulled about and have kids sitting on your feet when watching shows then you will also love it!
oh and a tip - if you want a warm breakfast, use the microwaves, we had cheese filled hot croissants every morning....yummy!
