All this talk of favorite places to eat but most of them I have NO idea what park they are located in.

So what is your fav place for lunch and dinner and where are they located?

Ok here are my favorites, I included breakfast also
EPCOT- Lunch- Cantina at the Mexico pavilion
Dinner- Le Cellier (cheddar cheese soup, pretzel breadsticks and steak)

MK- Lunch- Plaza Restaurant
Dinner- only have eaten at Crystal Palace (3x) and it has been hit or miss as far as the food and characters go
Breakfast- Cinderella's Royal Table can't beat the castle

AK- don't have any

MGM- Lunch or Dinner- 50s Prime Time Cafe (fried chicken and S'mores)

Resorts- Dinner- Ohanas (Poly) and Cape May (Beach Club)
Breakfast- Kona Cafe (Poly) and Cape May

We also have a tradition of eating dinner at Chef Mickeys our first night. The food is pretty good and they have a really good dessert bar. Then there are the characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale and sometimes Donald) and the napkin waving. It puts us in that Disney frame of mind.

The last time we were at Disney was 9 yrs. ago on our honeymoon.

Here's some places we really enjoyed.

Narcoossee's at GF resort
1900 Park Fare at GF resort
Liberty Tree Tavern at MK

Okay, get ready for a crash course in dining.

Check out www.allearsnet.com and click on dining for a complete list of menus and to learn what is where. THEN check these boards every day and learn from the masters of dining! ;)

Enjoy!

I just wanted to drop in and say I'm so glad you found DIS before your first trip. We went last Sept and had no idea about any of the things you find on the boards. So this will be our 2nd trip but I feel like a seasoned vet. :rotfl:

What types of food does your family like? Are you fancy eaters, burgers & fries people, vegetarian, do you like worldly items from other nations? Maybe that can help us steer you in the right direction. Here are some of our favs:

MK- Cinderella's & Main Street Bakery
Epcot- Le Cellier
AK- Rainforest Cafe (the only one we tried so far)
MGM- Sci-Fi
For breakfast we actually loved the Pop Century food court!

we are pretty much Burgers and Fries....trying to keep the bill down...we hopefully will do 3 character lunches/dinners

Us too :) So I know I can help. Here are some counter service places that we liked that had decent burgers and fries types of food.

Epcot-
*Electric Umbrella- you can get a double burger and ask for an extra bun and split it into 2 burgers. They have a HUGE toppings bar and there are enough fries to share for 2 people
*American Pavilion (Liberty Inn)- has decent burgers, and their apple cobbler dessert is REALLY good

MGM-
*Tough to find a good counter service here, but we liked the ABC Commissary where we had the fish and chips and the chocolate mousse.

DTD-
*Earl of Sandwich for dinner and then Ghirardelli for dessert

Beach Club-
*You definitely have to try Beaches & Cream

A great way to save some money and get to try lots of new things is to split meals. We went to some expensive places with our meal vouchers and shared meals. Disney is VERY used to people asking to split things :) I'll keep thinking for ya!

Magic Kingdom...Peco Bill's and Cosmic Ray's are great counter serve. We loved the burgers at Peco Bills.
DTD.....McDonalds (you always know what you're getting there)
MGM....Sci Fi has great burgers but they are more expensive (you're paying for the atmosphere)
