1st time waitlister question

I have a resv at OKW in Dec wed-sun studio 46 total pts of which 29 are the last of my aug 13 uy and 17 are borrowed from aug 14.
I have waitlisted BLT for wed and thur lake view which I believe is 34 pts total. If, by checking constantly, I see these 2 days open up I should grab them immediately correct ? So when I go to reduce my OKW stay to just fri-sat (26 pts total) what will happen to those 17 pts I originally borrowed ? Since I am grabbing the open days will that cause the original borrowed pts to remain in 2013 uy ? If so that would certainly deter me from checking since my plans for 2014 are uncertain. Hope I explained well enough.

Yes, borrowing is a final transaction but MS would keep those borrowed points on your OKW reservation (or should - you need to remind and double check). Then it would free up current 2013 points which could be banked.

But do you have more current points to book the BLT part? If not and you didn't want to borrow more you would probably need to call MS if you see the days available and have them do the cancel and rebook so you didn't have to borrow more points.

"Cancel and rebook" can be risky.... some CM are inexperienced and may mess up your reservation. There is no guarantee that someone else won't take it while you are on the phone. It's a choice you have to make I guess.
