I have only used the ECV in one park, but our trip next month I will need one everywhere (even outside of the parks),so I know some people have posted helpful things to bring that's helpful when using a ECV. Please help me and let me know what to bring? I saw someone posted a towel for the seats because of them getting very hot, someone else posted a clip on fan. I will bring something to put on my ECV so we can find it. Anything else would be great. Thanks

nothing to bring but take some time when you first get your ECV to practice to see how the ECV you have start stops turns for a bit before going into the park

Some little battery lights for the basket at night. Dollar stores or Walgreens are a good source. They help others see you in the dark.

Small back pack for rear of seat to carry food or rain coats. Don't leave anything valuable on scooter if you leave it. I carry a small bungee cord to help secure the pack.

Maybe a cane. Pulling/Pushing myself up from a boat ride has gotten harder over the years. Folding cane works good since you most likely won't need it all the time. Leave it in backpack or under jacket in basket on easier unloading rides.

Plastic bag to cover tiller if it rains. I bring a big plastic bag for seat as I hate a wet rear end.

AK is the roughest park to ride due to its imitation natural paths. Slow down on those and don't let crowds push you too far to the sides. The flower beds have sharp edges.

I think you will feel much better scootering the parks. I know I do. Have a great time.

if you use a poncho in rain make sure back of poncho covers you and over the back of seat so rain does not puddle on seat. during day when leaving ECV if seat back folds down do it helps with keeping seat cooler. if possible take ECV in line with you so you have a place to sit if lines moves slowly. always ask CM at beginning of line if there is anything you need to know about that rides line. there are a couple of lines that you can not take ECV Pirates comes to mind but they have wheelchairs that you use at that ride. I second bringing a cane, folding if possible, to help with getting out of boat/step down rides. have a great trip

You really don't need anything thnkfully, as I learned when my first ECV usuage was unplanned. However, you might want to bring a bell or horn (like from a bike) As DH noticed, so many people would walk into me without noticing, he often said "You should have a bell or something". The ECVs at the parks have a beeper on them, but in AK, the CM told me that the beepers were delibrately disabled because they disturbed some animals. And, like the poster above, I always have a folding cane with me.

You can lower your seat back which will take the heat off the seat.

If you are using a scooter everywhere all the time be careful about your battery usage. Watch your gauge and make sure you are in the "green". You may want to consider a stronger scooter which will have more battery power. Some scooters come with two batteries and will last much longer.

I would still wear a sun hat and sunglasses.

I bring a plastic shower cap (the disposable type - I bought some off amazon.com) to cover the handle/tiller area in case it rains. That helps with operating it in the rain. I have some disposable plastic rain coats I bring along to cover the scooter if it rains. If I was caught in a monsoon I parked it under cover (keep an eye on a weather app so you can plan to be parked before it hits) and I'd often be able to get out and walk to nearby attractions or stores. If you are not able to leave the scooter, I guess a rain plan is something to keep in mind. I've been in the parks on days it just monsooned for hours and I'm not sure if or how a scooter would make it through that.

I definitely second wearing a hat that blocks the sun because it will help you see where you're going and if its raining - it keeps the rain off your face as well. I bring a baseball cap style hat but anything with a brim that sticks far enough out over your face will work. That's really a good tip for anyone - lol!

For one trip I couldn't get out of the scooter much and for any shopping I wanted to do, I tried to go in the stores earlier in the day - they are WAY less crowded than if you wait until close to closing time. I was able to get through the stores in the ECV but some are easier than others.
