1st time staying at FW! ? about faxing loop request reminder...

I am soooo excited! Staying in a cabin for the first time ever! You can see by my signature I have stayed at almost every resort on WDW property (just need AS, CBR, Poly and GF to complete it!) and I am thrilled to add FW to my list. I am no stranger to the FW grounds, we go there often for the campfire/movie, HDDR, to see the horses, visit friends staying there, etc. I am so happy that I finally get to truly enjoy the resort.

We are going with friends that have a huge RV. We requested loop 2100, they requested loop 1100. Apparently on these loops, we can back up to each other? We had our reservations "linked" and were given a link number tied to our reservation number.

Should I also fax a reminder?

A fax couldn't hurt, about 5 days before arrival.

LOL, you may be right! Although I absolutely LOVE most of the WDW resorts! I am also AK-BC-BW-Swalphinlover, too.

Ok, I meant to ask...do I just write on a piece of paper my my name, res # and date of arrival and a sentence asking nicely, "Hello! Just reminding you to put us in the 2100 loop, as our friends, the B______family will be staying on the 1100 loop and we would like our cabin to adjoin their RV site. Thank you!"

Also, is there a time of day that it would be better received?

The best way to request a loop is to fax a request about 5 days before your scheduled arrival. Here is a form most people use:

The fax# for the Fort is:407-824-3508

Date:

TO: Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground Site Assigner

FROM: Name
Address

SUBJECT: Site Request for Month xx - xx

RE: Reservation # xxxxxxxx

I am really looking forward to my stay at the Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground and am writing about campsite requests. I do understand that these are only requests and cannot be guaranteed.

If possible, I would like a site in Loop xxxx with a site that will accommodate the following: (list your "stuff" here) and near (whatever you want to be near).


Thanks so much for your help, and once again I’m really looking forward to my visit to Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground.

IMO what you've done now should work but if you want to fax in a reminder you can.

Sounds like you and the other party have properly linked your ressies. I tend to just put the note on my ressie now. It was worked every time there was space. The one time recently when it didn't work I drove through my requested loop and sure enough it was full. So my request hadn't failed or been forgotten but it simply could not be filled. Because it is just that - a request.
