Hi all and thanks in advance for any info. I am a diehard Poly concierge fan and have just made ressies for GF Lodge concierge. My heart says stay with the Poly, but my DH wants to try the GF. Any comments or recent reviews? Thanks, Tracey

We have been staying in the GF since they opened. The past few trips we have stayed in the Concierge Level of the Main Building. We have stayed in a Deluxe Concierge room the past couple times and we absolutely love it!!!! We could not even think of staying anywhere else! The food is great, the atmosphere is fabulous and it is just all around fantastic. I don't think you will be dissapointed!

I have a question about the deluxe concierge rooms at GF.

I have read that some have "deep soaking tubs" Is it only a few or what?

What kind of views do the deluxe rooms have?

Does anyone know of a place online for floor plans and/or a map with rooms numbers perhaps showing the differant types of rooms. The links on the GF FAQ don't work.

Thanks BeccaBoo for your response. Although we won't be staying in the main bldg, I'm hoping our stay will be as good as yours. Thanks again, Tracey

Hoosier, I haven't stayed in Sugar Loaf yet but I have visited it while I was a Royal Palm Club guest, most recently during my last GF stay. Have no fear, the food items are identical to what is offered in the Royal Palm Club (this was true a few years ago and was true two months ago). According to the official WDW website, the difference between the two concierge lounges is stated below:

Access to the exclusive Royal Palm Club or Sugar Loaf Concierge Lounge (depending on room location) featuring Continental breakfast, snacks and evening wine and cheese reception (wine not offered at Sugar Loaf location)

As to your access to the Concierge Cast Members, those fine folks have desks in both the Sugar Loaf building and the main building. It was a pleasure working with them.

If you want to read about my main building stay, please click here to read my trip report. My family really had a wonderful stay at the GF.

This is all my humble opinion and others’ opinions may vary, as it should be.

CoolDisneyCat, I have a couple of answers to your questions. I'm not really sure about the deep soaking tubs, I think when you request a room with one of them, you give up the balcony. That is what I have gathered through reading a lot of info about the GF. As for the deep soaking tub in the deluxe concierge rooms, I don't think that is available but don't quote me. We have in the past, had a huge balcony around our room, therefore we did not have a deep soaking tub. The views from the deluxe concierge rooms are very nice. There are only 6 deluxe concierge rooms available and none of them have MK view rooms, although they do have great views of the pools and gardens and lagoon and polynesian. The floor plans with room numbers I don't believe are available on any web-site although I could be wrong, but I have never seen that on any web-site. In fact, when I called for reservations for our trip in a week, they would not even tell me what room # we were in on our previous trip. I did eventually find it in my stuff that I brought home from our last trip. Hopefully I have provided you with a little information!!!

I haven't stayed in the main building but my family enjoyed two wonderful vacations in Sugar Loaf. The rooms are beautiful and we enjoyed our stays very much.

Breakfast is very similar to that at the Polynesian concierge although the setting is more elegant. I think there are fewer tables. Some very nice little turnovers, etc as well as cereal, fruit, etc.. There are various syrups to add to your coffee or tea.

Tea service is very nice with scones, cookies, brownies that my daughter swears by, etc..

The 5-7 service offers small, elegant appetizers...roasted veggies, cheeses and crackers, some nights goat cheese on little toasted rounds, etc.. Unlike the Polynesian, I can't imagine anyone thinking they could make dinner out of these. We don't at the Polynesian either but there the offerings are ...heartier I guess..on some nights.

Besides offering no wine or cordials, there are no desserts served in the evening unlike the main building or the Polynesian. THere might still be cookies out from 5-7 sometimes?? Everything is cleared away at 7 except for the coffee, tea, etc..

Have a great time. After trying it once, you can always go back to the Polynesian next trip! We really love both.

Thanks to everyone for the reassurance. It sounds like we'll have a great time! We'll just have to bring our own bottle of wine:teeth:

bat4less..hello to a fellow Hoosier even though you may not admit it LOL! Funny, I only live thirty miles south of Terre Haute (eewww that smell)! Anyway thanks for the info, BTW, I don't think the General and Alford like to be mentioned together in same sentence. Tracey
