I am having such a hard time choosing a resort. Money is a bit of a factor here so I can't do high end deluxes for the 7 day trip.

I am considering 2 options to do either POP all week or a moderate resort all week.:cheer2:

Or should I split the week up 3 & 3 and do maybe POP with either a moderate or even maybe a std. deluxe room?

I am looking into doing Sept 3 to 9th.

Any ideas will help me! :confused3

You could do POP for 3 nights and WL for 3 nights. WL usually has some pretty good rates for standard rooms. I would post something in the Codes & Rates board regarding the WL rates. :)

Otherwise, without special codes, etc., the WL's standard rooms are about $215 per night. :)

I had a wonderful solo trip at Port Orleans Riverside. It was my first trip as an adult (I was only once before when I was 5). It was so quiet and relaxing. I probably spent as much time enjoying that resort as I did enjoying the parks.

I think both POR and POFQ look very nice for a stay. They both look appealing for adults and seem to have alot of ammenities onsite. You could easily spend time at your resort without going to a park. The Pop and AS resorts just seem very kid oriented. If I were going on a solo trip, I wouldn't want to be around that much noise and commotion, IMO. There was a recent post by someone that had just returned from POFQ and she had amazing photos of the resort. Made me want to stay there on my next WDW trip.:thumbsup2

I did a solo trip in May and stayed 1st at Pop Century and went commando style. I made all the rope drops and stayed late at parks so issue of kids around was not a problem. The last couple of days I moved over to BC and did the "resort" thing by having leisure time at the pool and a great character breakfast at Cape May Cafe. I felt that by sleeping at Pop I wasn't spending too much money and the money to relax at BC was worth it. This worked for me.
Have a great vacation !!!!!

Port Orleans Riverside. I have been solo many times to Riverside. Beautiful grounds, boat to DD nice food court. Until I joined DVC POR was my favorite resort.:goodvibes

About 3 years ago, I took a solo trip for a long weekend. Stayed at PC..did the commando touring as KSBelle described..up early -out late. I didn't spend any time in the room except to sleep. I gotta tell ya, after sharing a room at PC with DH, DS9, and DS7, having it all to myself was like being in a palace! But I can understand switching to a nicer resort if you want to hang around and relax, I don't consider PC to be all that relaxing.

Have a great solo trip!

If you want a lively value resort, Pop Century would be a great choice. If you want "laid-back" and quiet, POR would be my preference. I hope you have a great experience going solo.

I gone solo to Disney many times, and I find the values are a better choice than the moderates. I find the moderates really don't offer enough better things to justify the cost over a value. As a solo, a value room is plenty big enough; plus I actually tend to get better located rooms at a value than a moderate since the resort is more compact. At moderates, I always get the farthest building with a parking lot view (like Parterre Place at POR; Trinidad South at CBR, Ranchos at CSR). At moderates in these far-placed rooms, I actually have felt lonely and isolated! :( But at values, I feel more connected to Disney, and usually am closer to the food court and buses. And I like the more lively atmospehere at values. :)

My vote would be for POP! Nowadays, I only do values or deluxes - moderates have zero appeal to me as a solo.

If you are uncomfortable being the only single person around, I vote for CSR. CSR is a convention resort and you may very well not be the only person sitting alone at a table in the food court.

Otherwise, it doesn't make a difference. Pick a theme you like and run with it. :)

Of the two cheaper Deluxe resorts, I prefer AKL, but that's just a personal preference.

I stayed at POFQ on my solo trip a few years ago. It was just perfect! It is compact enough that I always felt safe coming in late at night. Anyway, that's my opinion!

If I was going solo I would choose a value resort, probably my favorite one- AS Sports. The room is plenty big enough for 1 person and if you stay in a preferred room you are actually feet away from all of the conveniences.

I personally think that Since one person does not have "tons" of stuff that it would be fun to stay at a couple different places:goodvibes

I am sure you will have fun anywhere though:)
