Hello Everyone~

We are going to DL for the first time this June. Can anybody give us advice of where to go and what to do. What is the weather like then. Any good places to eat nearby. We are staying off property for 6 days. Also are there any special park events at that time? Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Welcome to disboards :)
I am going in june too, we are staying at the Ramada Main Gate across the street.

Are you looking to do actvities outside of disneyland? Because they have great packages for Universal, Sea World, Sandiego Zoo where a bus picks you up from the hotel, brings you to those places and drops you back off at your hotel. Great deal.

Medieval time Dinner and Tournament is amazing place. Its about a 20 minute drive from Disneyland and is wonderful entertainment and the food is really good.

If you go to Down Town Disney one of my absoloute favorite places to eat is at the Rainforest Cafe and you can make resies for that or just walk in and put your name down. But inside disneyland I love eating at the Blue Bayou. Its a bit pricier as its a nice restaraunt but its delicious. Mimi's I belive its called by the Howard Johnson on the Harbour blvd is a really great place to eat too if you want to eat outside the park. Were you looking for fast food places in the park too cause Red Rockets is fantastic. Character meals I would recommend Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland hotel in Down Town disney or Storytellers. Just go under disneydining and see their detail for all menus etc.

The weather is going to be nice and warm, so definately bring your swimsuit, but bring a jacket for the evenings cause it will get colder.

Some tips I would recommend is park hopping because both parks are fairly large. Disney's Cali Adventure not so but there are still lots to see. Its a park you can see in an afternoon and is a place best to hit in peak times during the regular park times and on weekends as its not as busy as the main park, but some must sees in DCA are the disney's animation theature, tower of terror, Aladdins Musical, Muppets 3D, Soarin over California, Grizzley River Run.

In the main park, I would take advantage of Early Entry if you have it and hit fantasyland to get on peter pan and dumbo as the lines for those are crazy. But Tomorrowland should be open too during Early Entry and hit rides like Space Mountain. Besides EE good rides in the park are Splash Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Dont miss the fireworks if you can, they are fab and the best place to view them is infront of the Hub in mainstreet. The parades are amazing and a not miss as well. For the Early parade sit by its a small world, and the evening parade sit by the main gates on Mainstreet.

Oh also if you like 3d shows cause I LOVE THEM... definately catch Honey I Shrunk The Audience, Muppets 3D and a bugs life.

When are you going in June we might be able to help you with more events we know of going on if we know when you are going.

Hello Everyone~

If you want info, we've got info. ::yes::

On June 11 DL is planning to re-open a classic ride after eight years and a major refurb. That would be the Submarine ride. DL will be extra busy the following week. Other than that, everything should be up and running. Find out when the grad nights are, as the parks will close a little early on those nights.

My #1 tip, use Ridemax!!! We went mid June and never waited more than 10 minutes, and that was for POTC!

WOW! Thank you all so much for the warm welcome, and great tips.
I’ve never heard of ridemax, Ill have to check it out.

We have been to Disney World like 10 times, so I’m not new in that aspect. I just figured its time to experience where it all started.

We are staying at the Sheraton across the street. The one that looks like a castle. (We are using our starwood reward points so it had to be a starwood hotel) We will be renting a car so any other ideas of place to good would be great. We are two adults with no kids, and love nice restaurants, and sightseeing. Im pretty sure we will be going to LA. Anybody have any must do-s there?

What is the temp like during the day, and night in June?

I know DW has parties like the Prince and Princess, or things like the Flower and Garden Festival. I was wondering if there were any special events like that going on for June, or if there have been in the past. We can go pretty much any week in June so that may impact our decision.
