1st time going to SSR and would love information!

We have booked a 2 BR villa for the first week of June and we are very excited. Anyway, I am one of these people who needs to find out all the information I can about a resort so I have a few questions.

Is SSR going to have two theme pools and if so when is the second one opening and what is the theme? I love the slides at the resorts!!

We are thinking about staying in the Springs section, but now I'm unsure. Is the Springs a smoke free section? Cigarette smoke/smell makes me sick to the stomach. I have nothing against smokers. I just don't want to share your cigarette or the smell.

I think that is all the questions I have for now.

You will love SSR!!! We were in the springs section last October. We had a 2 bedroom villa and also a grand villa for 4 nights each. The rooms are absolutely beautiful!!! You will be right next to the main check in building as well as the main pool, arcade, and spa. You can walk to DDD in about 10-15 minutes tops. There is also a boat shuttle just beyond the main building. You can get to it in about 5 minutes. It takes you over to downtown disney in about 10 minutes. You also will be right next to a bus stop. It's right outside the springs building. Busses run about every 15 minutes. There are a couple of restaurants in the main check in building. There is also parking in front of the springs building, in case you have a car. The noise level is very quiet!!! The beds are FANTASTIC!!!!! We had 7 people with us, and no one wanted to get out of bed HAVE A FANTASTIC TRIP!!! You will love SSR

Forgot to mention about the smoking.... To my knowledge, the rooms are either smoke free or smoking . One or the other. We had smoke free rooms. We never smelled anyone smoking the entire time we were there. The hallways outside your room are all open type ventilated areas, so you don't have smoke that stays in any one spot very long. I think the new pool will not be that big or have a slide but it will have a water play area I think.

The pool will be in the yet unfinished area called "The Grandstand." It is supposed to have a racetrack theme. We tried to request to stay there for our upcoming June trip but were told, "No, not until it opens." (supposedly this spring).

We requested Congress Park for its proximity to DTD and view of it as well.

We have stayed in the Springs section 4101-4436 and Paddock section 6501-6836, both were very nice and right next to a bus stop. We just made our reservations for January and they let us request the Grandstand. The pool looks like it is going to be pretty cool. I think that you will like staying in the Springs section. You will be close to the Carriage House and the High Rock pool. We always request non-smoking rooms and never have had a problem at any of the resorts. Hope you enjoy your trip.

I'm really excited about SSR. I always get excited about the resorts. I love to sit back and watch people and I love the pools.

Is there any inside scoop I should know or want to know about the resort? People always have wonderful things to tell about a resort that you can't find in a book.
