1st time California Grill- View request?

I was able to snag a rez for Xmas dinner, hopefully they dont take it away after the weird glitch today!!! We have never been there and I am wondering do all tables have a view? If not, are you able to request a table with a view? Also- how strict is the dress code? We will be at the park all day so I am wondering if we will be ok going in "park attire"? Thank you!

No ripped jeans or offensive t-shirts.

You can usually request a view, but it can add up to an hour to your wait for a table. In my opinion, there's not much benefit to a view these days.

With no fireworks, I would wait extra for a view.

We usually had a MK view, but last year for our anniversay, we got seated in a back area which had an excellent view of Bay Lake and the Contemporary Resort. We really enjoyed it. A lot more quiet.

you can always step outside to the viewing platform. With zero fireworks and all parks closing early, not a lot to see.
it is a beautiful restaurant (I actually like the back wine room (?) myself

We always ask for seating at the windows and do enjoy the view. We wait if necessary. We were seated once in the back. We had the worst and only bad service we ever had at CG. That tainted our perception of the back room and Bay Lake view. We prefer front dining area and waiter Walter from Cincinnati.

We‘ve requested a window seat as I’m sure most people do and we’ve been denied.

Now my favourite spot is right in front of the kitchen in the main dining area.

Keep in mind that most window seats don't really face out the windows well.

Also if you are going there right around sunset the glare into the restaurant can be problematic.

We were there many years ago (about 20 years ago) for our 5th anniversary and got seats by the window facing MK and made the reservation so we could see the fireworks and it was one of the best times we had. The view was awesome, they turned down the lights and played the music from the show. Even after 20 years I still remember it fondly. Or course things are different now.

If you aren't going for the menu right now, but only the view, you might want to skip it this time.
