Hey all.....

I am staying at a DELUXE resort for the first time (wah hoo) - the Poly - and was wondering from those who have stayed there if they have any must do's or must don'ts. It will be myself (one 30 year old), my best friend (she's next to be 30!!) and her two kiddies - almost 4 and 1.

Advice? Thoughts? We will only be there for three nights - so keep that in mind! THANKS!

You gotta ride the monorail; walk to the beach and watch the Electric Water Pagent, eat at the Kona Cafe, and just relax and enjoy the laid back feel of the place. I don't know any don'ts: it is a great resort. have a blast!!

Also, DO see the nightly torch lighting ceremony held outside of the GCH Lobby . . .check with the CM's upon check-in to see what time it is . . .

Have a GREAT time!!

If you have a LV room, after the kidlets are asleep , just sit on the balcony with a nice drink and watch the colors change on Cindy's castle. With the cool breeze and the warm air... it is sooooooooo relaxing after a long day in the parks.
Also there is entertainers in the lobby that interact with the children and crafts in the lobby for them.
Breakfast at Ohana's is great too. Great character interaction with the kids.
Hope you have a wonder time...
Aloha

Thanks all - talk about instant gratification!!!! There are some GREAT tips there. I am specially thinking about the balcony, and the breezes and the drink!!! It will be fun, but it's hot to have little ones!

God, I love these boards!!!!!!!!!

We just returned from our 1st stay at the Poly and we loved it. We also have 4 & 1 year olds and they loved the simple things...playing outside the patio in the grass, trying to play with the ducks, playing in the sand, the nightly EWP and fireworks. You will have a great time. We didn't get a balcony because of the kids and my fear of heights. The garden view patio in Tokelau was perfect for us.

Rent the water mice for a spin around the seven seas lagoon, eat desert at the Kona Cafa it is GREAT !!!! See the fireworks over the MK from the beach. Buy the refillable mugs, they are worth it. At a certain time of the day (in the main lobby next to the TV) the kids can make leis and get cookies. The same woman that shows them how to make leis also teaches them how to use these ( I don't know what they are called but they are two soft balls joined by a thin rope and you swing them) My kids had fun. She also sings and plays an instrument.

Just an FYI...The torch lighting ceremony takes place Tues-Sat at 6:00pm at the GCH. Its pretty cool! :)

DON'T feel like you have to do the Luau. I'd suggest not with little ones.
DO go visit the Grand Floridian if you have time.
DO walk to the TTC to take the monorail to Epcot; it's very close.
When getting on a monorail, DO ask the CM if you can sit in the front!
(I'm pretty sure you can take strollers on the monorail, but you probably can't take them up front. Ask anyway!)

We love the Kona Wraps for lunch at you guessed it the Kona Cafe. The coffee is wonderful which you can also get at the morning breakfast bar. Have a great trip!

Do try the Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe for breakfast. It's like getting dessert for breakfast. Kona Cafe is one of Disney's greatest secrets for a fantastic meal with minimal stimulation. Although if you're only going to be there 3 days, you probably won't get over stimulated, but they're still fantastic with the little ones.
