First time solo the entire week - thinking of planning more than usual.
On your first solo trip do you find yourself planning more? or winging it more?

I actually plan less and "wing it" more. When going with others, everyone seems to sit around, looking at me when they say "So what are we going to do tomorrow?" And heaven forbid if you try to change plans, "Well I don't feel up to---after all." One thing I love to do solo is go out to the bus stop and just get on the first bus that comes along. Then, once I get on the bus and thus know where I'm going, I figure out what to do when I get there. If I ever tried to do that with my family, they'd freak! "What do you mean, you don't know where we're gonna go?"

I wing it more, but that's because it's a little luxury for me to wander where I want, when I want, and just sit and people-watch if I want. :) How you plan or don't plan your solo trip should be determined ONLY by what will make you happy. More relaxed with a plan because you have a list of things you want to do, or just because you enjoy having a plan? Then make one. Do you find it more relaxing to wander around, snacking when you want? No plan. Do make any ADRs you really want, though. :)

have a good time!

I don't do plans very well..... used too.

but now I am like Simba's Mom - let the buses decide.

of course I still try to do EMH - but once those early morning hours are passed I generally go back to the resort - swim and nap - so I can do the late night EMH....

so I guess sometimes I do plan around EMH

The only thing I plan is if I want to do a tour. I'll book them way before I leave. Other then that, wing it. I always play, "what ever the next bus is" game. I also tend to park hop more on solo trips. Last trip I started at the Studios and did TT and RnRC, hopped on the boat to Boardwalk to hit the Bakery and then to EPCOT. I could never do this with my family.

Yea, I love solo trips :thumbsup2

I'll be at WDW solo from 8/8-8/15, and I'm trying to plan as little as possible. I know I'm hitting PI on Thursday night and seeing La Nouba the night after that, and I just decided to do the Segway tour at Epcot based on another message thread, but other than that, I'm leaving everything open.

I really like the idea of taking the first bus that arrives and then winging it from there. My first and only other time at WDW was last summer with my extended family, and I really felt like I was being herded lovingly from one attraction to the next. I never had a chance to explore and wander around.

I just mostly wing it ! I still look at the tourning plans to see what the crowd levels are predicted to be at which parks and decided to do say the MK on Monday but unless there is a place I want to eat or a tour I want to do I just meander around the world at my leisure!! It's soo NICE to just sit in Epcot enjoy the sunshine in the world showcase with no one egging you to get moving or go on this ride or that ride.. ENJOY

I definitely wing it more when I travel to solo. The only things I pre-plan are tours or hard-ticket events. I've never had any problems with last minute ADRs but then I normally go during the slow seasons.

When I travel with my DH then I make at least one ADR for every day and always have a park touring plan. I always have to have an answer for that constant question "so, what do we do now?"
