I have a business trip coming up at the end of July that will be a solo trip. I have tried to talk dh into coming along multiple times, but he is not hearing it. So what suggestions do you have for a first time solo traveler? Will any other solos be there July 25-30?

Have fun and do whatever YOU want. I'm currently on a solo trip and as I write this I'm lounging by the pool and headed to AK in a bit. You can stay up late, sleep in, take naps, go wherever you want. I went to jellyrolls last night that was a fun time. 7am run around boardwalk? Check. It's pretty easy to meet people on here for dinner, park hangouts, whatever. I had dinner Sunday with a DISer and hopefully meeting up with others this weekend. Only slightly uncomfortable part is dining. Last night was Les Chefs and the CM's put me in the window so I could people watch. Tonight is the poly dinner show and I'm a little nervous about that one haha. Hope that helps if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

I'll be on my first ever solo trip later this year and am sooooo looking forward to it! :cool1: Doing whatever I want, when I want, on my own schedule in one of my favourite places. I can't wait! :thumbsup2 Do whatever you feel to do and you'll be fine!

I agree w/PPs to just go w/the flow & do whatever you want whenever you want to. That's one of the main joys to travel solo to WDW IMO.

I also recommend having a loose itinerary at least. Be willing & ready to change at the last minute if something comes up but try to have a general plan for the day, like which park you want to go to & if you will hop to another park for a night time show, etc. When you link your tickets to MDE, make your FP+s if you will be using them for the attractions you want.

Here's an example of what I mean by loose itinerary: I scheduled my three attractions for FP+s in Epcot for an evening. I know Soarin is a priority for me so I arrange that one for a time I know I will be able to make for sure. The other two I choose are for attractions I like but do not necessarily need a FP for so if I am not in the area or I happen upon a street show in WS & want to stop to see it, I don't worry about rushing to make it; I just stop & relax for a while to enjoy the show. After that, I may decide to head to the attraction for SB or not.

There have been many times I had planned to hop from Epcot to HS to see Fantasmic but either made it to HS & did attractions there instead or just wasn't feeling it & stayed at Epcot or hopped to MK. Once I was determined to follow through w/the plan so I went to see it & ended up getting antsy half way through & left. This past trip, I set more time than usual aside to stay in HS. I saw it from start to finish & had such a great time! :yay:

I also found it easier for me to look into the options for food in each park by asking questions or reading threads on here or looking up the menus & reading reviews. That way at least I am aware of what's available wherever I happen to get hungry & it becomes less overwhelming than pulling out a map or stopping at each restaurant to look at the menu before deciding where to eat.

Some people prefer having no plan at all & just hopping on whatever 1st bus shows up & heading to that park for the day, which is great if that works for them. But planning out the day somewhat for me seems to work best, especially for my solo trips. :goodvibes
