I asked my brother-in-law to drive us to Manchester Airport this Saturday. He was to drive my 7 seater and then have the use of it while we were away for 2 weeks. Everything was sorted more than a year ago. Or so I thought.

I phoned him today and asked him what time he would prefer to set off on Saturday. He said he didn't mind and as we chatted, he casually dropped into the conversation that he had no insurance! To add him to my policy will cost £75 :'(

Oh dear extra expense. At least he will be fully comp on your policy. Personally I'd have been worried if he was just driving with third party cover from his own vehicle policy (in case he wrecked your car)

Is it cheaper to get a cab?
I'm not sure I'd want someone driving my car for several weeks whilst I was away, regardless of whose insurance they were on!
