1st Disney Cruise 7/22/04 How are the cabins?

My husband, myself, and our 3 children 6, 8, 12 plus my parents are going on our first Disney cruise. We have only cruised with RCCL in the past. We are very excited about this cruise. My main concern is cabin size. We chose the Cat. 9 to save money. Disney seems to have a bit higher prices. Our cabin is connecting with one of our children staying in my parent's cabin. I would love to here from anyone who has stayed in this type of cabin. If anyone is also cruising with their children at the same time it would be nice to know that too. Thank you for your time.

I have not stayed in a cat 9 cabin but I will tell you that a DCL cabin is generally 25% bigger than a comparable cabin on RCCL. You should have no problems especially with connecting rooms. Have a great cruise!!

Catagory 9 cabins are just fine. We have always stayed in Cat. 9, and love it.

The only difference between Cats 9 - 4 is a verandah, and how high up on the ship you are. The room size and layout are identical. So, the only things you gain by purchasing a Cat. 8-4 is a verandah, and a higher level on the ship. There is really no more actual "living" area.

We stayed in connecting Category 9s in November with DH, DD and myself in one room and DS and my mother in connecting room.

It was great. There was a ton of room (compared to cabin we had on the Norway 13 years ago). A lot of times when we were getting ready, kids would head over to grandma's cabin to watch TV in peace (lol).

We never lacked for space.

The split bathrooms were great also. It made for 4 bathrooms for 5 people!
