We arrived on Aug. 9 for 3nts club level and then I wanted to go back to HRH for our last nts. stay... BIG mistake! (more later) The place is JUST AWESOME!! Beautiful bamboo footbridge overlooking streams and waterfalls,( this leads you to the resort and lobby), lucious exotic flowering foliage throughout the resort, arched palm trees and bamboo trees EVERYWHERE !!! The open aired Orchid Courtyard has fountains, hundreds of different varietys of orchids,as well as stone lanterns, hand carved stone elephants, ... it is just breathtaking! Throughout the resort you will find wood carvings and canvas murals depicting the South Pacific.. just unbelievable! Anyway,we arrive at fronts desk and Bob Quinn, (WONDERFUL guy by the way), checked us in, but even though I checked on ressies a couple times before we arrived, my room was a KING room, NOT my 2 queens. Now, I came in with my brother and this wasn't an option, but he gave us a sofabed room for our 1st nts stay and then could move us next day for the last 2 days... didn't get it until 5pm the next day, but at least they let us keep the old room until then. To compensate for our "discomfort" , he sent up some YUCKY chinese candy basket.... man, was it gross!! Nice gesture, and beautifully presented,... but YUCK! Anyway, yes we did get our loews upgrade we requested, something HRH NEVER seems to do... you have to call down MANY times to get ANTYHING! ( I know,... as I've stayed there about 4 times now) To continue, we just so happened to check in for the hordeurve/happy hour(5 to7pm) at Royal Club, so that was a wonderful welcome... had some wine, a couple coronas and some yummy cheese/crackers, salsa/chips, fresh fruit and a chinese chicken salad thing,... it was pretty tasty!!
Our first day was starting off pretty darn good!!
