I am debating between staying at the deluxe oceanview inn room versus the 1BR.

Pros of Deluxe Inn Oceanview Room:
> $43 cheaper per night
> View of Ocean
> Closer to pool and shopping etc.

Pros of the 1 Bedroom:
> Own kitchen
> Washer & dryer
> Separate living area that kids can sleep in
> Sounds like a better bath with a whirlpool tub?
> Sounds like a better balcony.

What would you do? We have a 9 month old and a 27 month old.

Also, would you recommend the first floor, or a higher floor?

Thanks in advance! You all are so helpful!!

Bridget

Leave them home.

Oh,you meant which room. We stayed in the Inn & loved it. Of course,we had no kids and we don't cook or wash cloths on vacation.

Kids? You would probably find the inn room a bit, uh, confined. With a 9 month old and a 27 month old, this is a no-brainer: GET THE ONE BEDROOM (what were you thinking!) You'd need to bring a truck with you to VB just for the kids clothes if you stayed in an inn room! You need that washer and dryer!

While it's true that an inn room has wonderful views--I've got one this summer:p --you need space with your little ones! Have you ever stayed in a one bedroom before? This is luxury like you have not had before, and it's wonderful! Bridget, after two babies in less than two years, that man of your's should be reserving for you at least a grand villa;) Trust me, it's so worth it for $43 extra dollars. In a one bedroom you have a washer-dryer, a KING bed, A ROOM OF YOUR OWN, a huge bathroom WITH A WHIRLPOOL TUB AND A SHOWER, and a full-sized kitchen--well, in spite of the kitchen, it's so worth the money. I don't know what these rooms go for in actual money, but a $43 difference is a steal for the one bedroom. Please, please, please, take the one bedroom!:bounce:

With your situation (2 kids) it is an easy "choice", definately a 1BR!:D

> Closer to pool and shopping etc.
You can get a 1 bedroom that is just a close to the pool. Each Villa complex has an elevator that is not busy, so the floor you choose doesn't matter. Go for the one bedroom, you can put the kids to bed for naps and in the evenings, and still have a nice room to yourself. The washre and dryer is definitely worth it. You'll love it.

We stayed in an INN Ocean room with 5, myself and hubby, daughter who was 7, 16 year old cousin and almost 1 year old son(he was in a porta crib) It really wasn't that bad, we survived, we were down for 5 nights, but then last summer we had a studio, really no difference, its was just awful because of all the rain they had last summer so we spend more time in the room than normal!! then in November we stayed in a one bedroom at OKW, hubby says never again will we stay in anything smaller, even if it just the two of us!!!!!! Talk about spoiled, this November we have a 2 bedroom at VWL, at least our only next choice will be the GV or Beach Cottage!!!

We stayed in an Inn Room and had a great time (we were there 2 nights). There is a washer and dryer on one of the floors (like with the studios at the other DVC resorts) in the Inn that I used one night.

..and you might be able to "have it all". We were at VB 2 years ago and had a one bedroom on the top floor , I believe Bldg 13. Anyway, we had an awesome ocean view! I could have spent the whole vacation just sitting on the balcony watching the waves!

Request a top floor, ocean view. As with all requests, it's not guaranteed, but you might get lucky!

I would highly recommend the one bedroom also for your family. You will be able to watch tv, talk, relax etc, while the children go to sleep in a separate room. I remember the days of trying to be quiet while my little ones fell asleep in a standard size hotel room, and that is partially what led me to the DVC purchase!!

If finances would be so constricting, then by all means go for the Inn room as opposed to not going at all. But if you can swing it, the one bedroom will be far more comfortable for you! :)

I had a one bed ocean view near the pool. It was a great location, but the 1 bed was a bit tired and needed some work. The location was great and anyway everything is so close that you don't walk that far.
