$199/week rentals from National @ Disney care car center for 2011

maybe im using an 'old' continental code??? anybody care to post the one that's producing please!

perhaps @ capacity/blacked out for my dates:confused3just checked again, the $199+ crossover rate is now 'gone' for my dates @ MCO too, glad i booked it yesterday

im using continental code

7 nights

arriving 9 am 7/24/11

departing 8 am 7/30/11

@ MCO

economy & compact = $282, midsize = $306

@ Care Care Center

midsize & standard SUVs & crossovers = $289.99

You're probably getting a higher rate because your pick up and drop off are at different locations. I think from what i'm reading on this and other boards that you have to use the same location.

That's only 6 nights. I just tried it for 7/24-7/31 (7 nights) and the crossover pops up at $199.

Mary

duh, okay the times i used were fudged as i need to actually pick it up around noon on 7/24 & return it as late as possible on 7/30 (which if after pickup time of more than 2 hours will be a full week kwim?)

i don't think i'd want to chance booking it thru 7/31 to get the rate, then actually return it early on afternoon of 7/30 in order to catch ME back to MCO

i priced again for my "real" dates of:

7/24 @ 11:00 am, returning on 7/30 @ 7:00 pm (afterhours) it's still considered a weekly rental & got quote of $318.86:confused3

regardless, unless im using an old continental code, im done with it.:upsidedow

can somebody post or PM the current code that's producing all the luv?popcorn::

Exactly what are you trying to do? I get the $199 rate for 7/24 - 7/30 (late) for MCO-MCO or Dolphin-Dolphin. If you pick up one place and drop off another (MCO - Dolphin) that's when you get hit with a higher rate. Personally, I don't think that ME is all that and I would prefer to drive and not spent 2+ hours kicking around the airport.

A) Trying to verify current continental code;)

B) Would like to book a SUV or minivan as others have stated they were able to find...vs the crossover i currently have booked MCO-MCO @ $199+ rate

A) According to Mary it's 5007160.
B) It appears that the SUVs and Minivans are only available at the Dolphin and CCC. Maybe you can take ME both ways?

thank you for confirming the code:thumbsup2 for less hassle i'll stick w/MCO i guess, will keep trying though.

I was able to get a standard car for 12 days during Memorial week for $224 ($300 with fees). Since we have to rent from MCO, I was happy. I used the 25% off Entertainment code plus the double upgrade coupon. Thanks for the tip, folks! I was scared about renting a car over Memorial and I now feel much better now that I've secured a reasonable rate.

I just found this on mouses*****. We got a crossover $209 MCO March 19 to March 26. It was the only offer for cars for that price. Used 5007160 and I have no coupon so I went to rentalcar.*** and used the HHilton Honors for $ coupon off. I signed up for HHonors and printed the card. The best I had so far was alamo $259.

Maybe I am doing something wrong.Has anybody got this to work over the 4th of July time period.I was looking at June 29th to July 6th.

I got it to work. Did you remember to set your drop off time to be at least 1 hour earlier than your pick up time?

Maybe I wasnt because I tried again and it worked. Thanks so much!!! Once less thing to worry about for next year.

You're like me and always end up with a great rate .

:laughing:it's the one thing i seem to be obsessed re controlling vacation costs

Thanks for the info! I would never think that I could get a good deal on a rental car this far out. We are going to WDW in June of 2011. We are going for a week, but will take the last flight out of the day so will need an 8 day rental. Using the codes provided I got a the cross-over Journey for a total of $235. I saved over $60 with coupons/codes more than enough to make the extra day free. We had this same in car in Phoenix this past July and it is bigger than I thought. We had 8 suitcases and 4 carryons, one of which was a duffel and our two kids (ages 13 and 16) and it was a tight squeeze, but it all fit fine. Getting a good rental deal always takes some of the stress of out the trip. ;)

I guess this deal is gone now? I played with so many car rental last week but in trying to firm up my dates today can't pull up the rate! Grr!! I have one booked for 15 days at a super rate but I only need 14 days of that. Has anyone had any luck calling them to modify a reservation? To modify online and drop one day, my rate more than doubles because of the new prices. Just curious if I call if I'd get a different answer? I guess I'll just have to call and find out!

Yep, I just tried some test bookings and it seems to be completely gone.

Is the extra day on the end of your rental? If so, I think if I were you, I would just leave the booking alone and return the car early. I would not advise this if your rental would end up being less than a full week, because that frequently causes a penalty, but for such a long rental I doubt it will affect anything. You must have two weekly rates plus a daily fee on a 15-day rental, right? So keeping the car for only 14 days should simply knock off the extra day when you return it.

If the first day of the rental is the one you want to "lose," you'll have to call them and see what happens, I guess.
