$199/week rentals from National @ Disney care car center for 2011

Thank you for the heads up. I would have never even looked this far in advance for our trip in May but $199. was such a great deal I went ahead and booked it. I used the Airtran reward contract ID and got $12.00 off for a total cost of $255.00.
We are arriving in WDW on 5/21 before heading out on a Disney Cruise on 5/22, then we come back to WDW until 5/28. The cost of the rental car plus parking at the terminal is cheaper than paying for Disney transportation for the 5 of us to the port.

oh, I just went back and used the Continental frequent flyer number and it gave me an even better rate than the Airtran one. $232 compared to $255 (this is with taxes and fees included) I'm going with the Continental code and book and then I'l go to Continental's website to sign up for the FF program.
Thanks again
The only car that comes up with the $199 is a Dodge Journey or similar which will suit us just fine

I think I have this figured out! When I checked rates using just the Continental Airlines code for the CCC, I got a base rate of $378 for economy or compact. However, if I FIRST log in as an Emerald Club member and THEN use the Continental code, I get the $221.87 total price! The American Airlines code takes $20 off the $199.99 weekly rate, whereas Continental's code takes off $30.

Thank you so much for this information. we are going may27- June 4th next year and splitting the rental car with another couple going with us. Ive made multiple reservations right now to due to the fact that I don't know what type of vehicle they will want. Car and drivers corporate id helped out a ton in our situation because although it didn't give us an additional discount, it did allow us to have a second driver for free, which will help out in certain situations. now we just need to decide between the crossover, luxury, or convertible reservation. I like having that problem lol

Booked May 28-June 4 for pick up and drop off at the CCC for $189 total for an SUV. Used the Continental code (15% off) and my Entertainment coupon for $30 off.

If you adjust your dates to be more than a week you can get a Compact for only $141 per week + $20 per day :thumbsup2.

Unfortunately, I have NO CLUE what our August 2011 dates will be or even if we are going in August.

I cannot get the $199.00 for my dates. I am trying for July 30, 2011 to August 6, 2011 picking up at MCO and dropping off at CCC. The best I could get was $333.00 for a Standard car. :confused3

I think the rate is only good for pick up/drop off at the same location.

OP u made me look:laughing:

for end of July, 2011; didn't see the deal @ MCO, but they did have crossovers available for $199 a week plus, so i grabbed one jik

couldn't get the ExA or EmA discount to work with it:confused3, nor do i have a coupon (yet);), currently $232xx not a bad starting point.

Thanks guys!!

I just rebooked my car from National for our January trip, using the Continental code and the free day entertainment coupon, I saved $30 on my rental. I reserved a fullsize crossover for $199 and with the continental discount of $30 and the entertainment coupon for a free day (24.28) my total came out to $204.

I do have a question, do I have to show proof that I'm flying on Continental in order to use the Continental code? We're flying on Southwest.

Where and how are people finding the $199 rate? I'm looking for October, is this too early or is there a code? I'm just not finding it! :confused3

This is the information from Mousesavers.com
You must belong to this airline's frequent flyer program to qualify for discounts with National, but it's free to join.
I am reading that to mean you only have to have a frequent flyer card to qualify. I went on Continental's website and signed up for it right after I booked my car.

Yes, and in all honesty it's extremely unlikely you'll be asked to prove you are a member of the frequent flyer program. However, since officially you should be a member to use the discount, and there is a tiny chance you could be asked about it, I recommend joining. It's free and only takes 5 minutes.

You guys are great, thanks I'll go to Continental's website and sign up. I believe this is one airline my DH never signed up for, he's a member of just about all the other big airlines.

This offer ONLY works in 2011.

so i gathered-still hope springs eternal;)

it's not working end of July '11 for me:confused3, only a 'special' rate of $199 week for crossover which im happy to see @ this point, i checked all the Orlando pickup locations last night

Nope. Technically you are supposed to be a member of their FF club.... I join online and carry the printout with me just in case... that said, I have never been asked for stuff like that.

It works then. I just tried it. Almost every car type, including minivans, convertibles and premium cars, picked up from a WDW location (Car Care Center, Dolphin, Buena Vista Palace), is $199.99.

Be sure you're following all of the specific steps discussed in this thread - rental must end at least 1 hour earlier than it begins, etc.

As previously discussed in the thread, this deal is much more limited at MCO - only economy, compact and fullsize crossover at $199.
