Wednesday 27th October 2010
We arrived at Hollywood Studios just after opening and raced straight to Toy Story Mid-way Mania and obtained fast passes. The stand-by line was already 50 minutes. In fact, it didnt go below this all day and at one point was 90 minutes.
We decided to split up at this point as me, Tony, Andrew and Peter all wanted to do Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller coaster (5-10 minutes wait each), while Mandy and Kieran wanted to get some character photos.
We gathered together again for Toy Story Mania.
Then split up again to see our favourite shows; Peter and the boys to Indiana Jones Stunt Show and me, Mandy and Tony to Beauty and the Beast.
Beauty and the Beast was excellent as usual, although Mandy and I both preferred the Beast to the not-handsome-enough Prince. He just looks too girly. Maybe it's the pony tail.
For lunch, we thought we would ask if there was availability at 50s Prime Time Cafe and there was. Tony and I both chose the pot roast which was delicious but very small. Mandy had chicken pot pie, Peter and the boys all had different sandwiches. We had sundaes for dessert. The bill was $151. It was all nice enough, but to be honest wed had similar and equally good meals elsewhere for half the price. Tony and I had eaten here before, but the others hadnt. We were hoping our server would be fun, but although she was friendly, she didnt really get into her mom role like the servers we had in the past.
We did The Backlot Tour where Peter volunteered and was given the role of Captain of the ship. We took plenty of photos of his star turn.
We were just in time to catch the parade and Mandy did a great job following it down the street until she got some photos.
We watched Muppetvision 3D and did The Great Movie Ride, then got some character photos with Mickey and Lotso.
Mandy, Peter and the boys stayed to get more photos, while Tony and I headed across to the Tune-in Lounge where we had arranged to meet Mandy (Mandymouse) and her hubby Paul for a drink or two. We had never been to the Lounge before and were amazed on opening the door to find we were in the same place we had been to for lunch! I guess the clue is in the name really!
It was lovely to see them both and we had a nice couple of hours chatting and drinking.
After leaving the park, Tony and I met up with my sister and family at Friendlys for dinner. I cant remember what we all had, (though Im pretty sure it involved chocolate cake for Kieran) but I know we all enjoyed it, despite a couple of the orders being wrong and the server being particularly un-smiling.
We popped into Target and bought a big bag of peanut butter M&Ms and few other necessary items, before returning to the villa. After a glass or two of wine and a bit of TV, it was time for bed.
Tomorrow: Blizzard Beach and Downtown Disney.
