I guess i'm not looking at the right sites or something.

I need a good hotel, comfort inn level, but not as expensive. It's two seniors with AARP. Looking for 40$ a night max. East side of Disney entrance, along 192, palm pkwy, international dr (south end).

No where can I seem to find a site that allows me to put in discount options like that, or seems to pull up any deals like stay 2 nights, get 1 free. Or any hotels that have weekly special rates.

Instead of trying to use those kind of deals, I would suggest using hotwire.com or priceline.com to get your room. You will get far more for your money. If you have never used a service like that, check out betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com for lots of help.

I would also suggest looking at travelzoo.com for specials that come up there.

Excellent advice - we got the Days Inn near Universal last August for $25 per night by using Hotwire.com - they don't tell you the name of the hotel until you book but they do give you the area - if it has a pool, shuttle, breakfast, etc.

For this trip (we leave in 13 days), I wanted a hotel near the airport for our last night - we are doing a timeshare for the first 7 nights and we got the Sheraton Suites at Orlando Airport for $46 per night - I wanted a hotel with a free shuttle to airport so that I could return my car one night sooner and save a days car rental and I wanted a pool - I was able to put my request in and it popped up with this hotel but I didn't know the name until after I booked.

Good luck - there are lots of great choices out there. I also book my car rental through Hotwire.com - they don't give you the agency until you book but the prices are awesome. I got an economy car for $8.95 per day on our last trip. This trip I booked a mid-size car for $12.95 per day.:wizard:

The time of year you're going will also make a big difference.

AARP discounts are not too good. I dropped our membership after a couple of years because we never used any of the benefits.

well it's not for me, my aunt has the AARP, and i don't know what kind of benefits she uses. I just know she has it and it's there for the discount if one is available.

The hotwire prices are lookin good. I just hope a 3* is going to be good enough for her since the price is good. I wish she wasn't so darn picky and whiney.

Travelocity will show you all the hotel results for the area you search. Once on the results page you can narrow the price range with a sliding ruler to your specifications.

My concern for you is this, you want Comfort Inn quality at non-Comfort Inn prices. Although this may be possible in other cities, I do not think it will come easily in the Orlando area. This town's hotels are over-used and abused and rarely take time to renovate when really needed (and why should they if they're booked solid anyway). Advice I give to others all the time is that Orlando area hotels are (in general) a step below what you would expect. So, that Comfort Inn wouldn't even meet the standards of other Comfort Inn's you've come to know and love. You really want to aim higher than you normally would (and hopefully find a great deal). Just be sure you really read those guest feedbacks before you book.

Have a great trip.

I would agree that some hotels are in need of renovating, but there are so many hotels in the area that the deals you can get on hotels is impossible anywhere else.Hotels like the Rosen Creek Shingle creek,a hotel that in other cities might go for $300-$500 a night I've gotten for $55,just recently I got the brand spankin new Hilton Orlando next to the convention center for $63.I've probably stayed in 1/4 of the hotels in the Orlando tourist areas and in the International Drive area possibly close to half the hotels. Most of those hotels are in good condition and in other cities might go for $120-$150 a night,I get them for $30-$60,so they are obviously not booked solid year round or the prices would be a lot higher.

Well I booked Hotwire. Got a holiday inn & suites out by universal. It's easy access to where we need to be, and there's a Cracker Barrel a few minutes away so that'll make her happy... She's not flying here for the theme parks, even though it's prime location, it's just nice and close to 528 and central fl pkwy.

Got it for 39$ a night (spent that much on taxes and fees), and when I went to their website I could book that room for nearly 80$ a night. My aunt called and asked for a non smoking room, double beds, and the possibility of an early check in (she leaves her house at 5am, so she'll be ready for a nap when she gets here), and lady said everything would be ok.

Glad you found a good deal in the price range you wanted. I have always had good luck with Hotwire - I check several sites but always end up booking on Hotwire.

I hope you have a great vacation and I love Cracker Barrel!:woohoo:

This room is awesome. 6th floor, so no one above to stomp around. It's a whole suite with a full working kitchen, nice little sitting area, 2 queen beds in the bedroom, and double vanity. Checked in around 11am, so four hours early, with no problems at all. And since it's on universal blvd, it's much quieter than being on I-Drive.

My aunt is definantly impressed with this place. Although the 5th floor seems to be the smoking floor, so the elevators start to smell if the doors open on that level. So i can hear her complaining already.... Other than that, great hotel.
