This is our first time visit to WDW (besides when I was four). I made reservations for Crystal Palace for Pooh and Tiger (my DS loves them). Then I found out that 1900 Park Fare has Pooh and Tiger AND Alice, Mad hatter, and Mary Poppins (Subject to change of course...). I am just curious which one you prefer and why? I am thinking of changing our ADR to 1900 Park Fare if it is open for that day. Is it worth it?

My family has had both breakfasts and we prefer 1900 PF.

The characters are a lot of fun. The Mad Hatter can scare some very small children but DH and I thought he was hilarious. DS really likes Mary Poppins while DD loves Tigger. We also prefer the choice of food better.

The breakfast at CP is good, but lunch there is so much better! When we eat there that is what we prefer.

Both are good though. Have a great trip!

I can only imagine how scary the Mad Hatter can be to little ones. My DS watched a video of him talking to a baby boy and he kept telling me 'he scary mommy'. So I'm sure my DS will be one of the ones that would be scared. But I think the older kids would get a kick out of seeing the Mad Hatter, Alice and Mary Poppins.

we have enjoyed the food better at CP. don't really know why cause it's probably the same. and we usually get the absolute earliest ADR for CP so that we can take pics on an empty Main Street and we are already in the park at rope drop. We have consistently missed the opening show, but when the kiddos wanted to ride Dumbo, it was a plus.

Yeah that is one of the reasons I wanted to go to CP. But our ADR is 8:25 so I'm sure we will not be done with breakfast before rope drop. So it probably doesn't matter to much. It is really the pictures of an empty park that would be nice... the choices are so hard to make. :rotfl:

Just another reason to plan another trip.

Most of the character meals seem to be breakfast. So, why not do 1900 Park Fare for breakfast..... and Crystal Palace for lunch on another day? CP's lunch is pretty good - variety of interesting cold salads, salmon, carved meats, etc..... and I really loved 1900 PF Supercalifragilistic breakfast... great food, nice character interaction, and the Grand Floridian lobby is nice too.

That might be an option. I'll be running it by DH when I see him tomorrow. But then he might just say 'You seem to have a great handle on things, lets do what ever you want.' Which is what he has told me a couple times when I bring up different things about the trip. :rotfl: But that will leave it up to me. We are going to spend so much money doing what ever I want to do. :rolleyes1

Do you know what the latest time there is for lunch at CP? I'm never sure when dinner starts and lunch ends.

We just got back and did 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. It was wonderful! We had Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh and Tigger. The Mad Hatter was a scream. Definitely the family favorite (although I don't have little ones).

CP has better food. 1900 the Mad Hatter was Funny. I'd do CP over 1900 in a sec.

Lunch goes til 3pm.

Do you want to be in the park early? Than I'd go with Crystal Palace. But I have to say, we LOVED 1900 Park Fare. I've eaten at both for all meal times anf just love the interaction at 1900 Park Fare. However, you will enjoy whichever one you choose! Have fun!!!:goodvibes

Being in MK before the park opened was awesome. We had an 815am ADR but were seated right when they opened. Just check in as soon as you get there, but get there when they start letting you in the park (745am), walk to CP and check in. Chances are you could get in early. A lot of people show up later than their ADR's (we did several times on our last trip) so they seat who is there.

Even though we didn't get out until after rope drop, and we stopped for a few photopass locations on the way to Dumbo, there was only a 10 minute wait for Dumbo at that point (about 930am). Ariel's Grotto had opened early that morning also (less than a 5 minute wait), so we did that before we got on Dumbo as well.

(Just a helpful tip -if you plan to go to pixie hollow - get to Toon Town around9:45am - prior to it's 10am rope drop - get in line right after rope drop and you will have a minimal wait. We were about the 6th or 7th family in line and by the time we were done around 1030am - the fairies spend a lot of time with each family - the wait line was already 60 minutes)

Enjoy your trip!

We did both on our last trip. My daughter is an Alice in Wonderland addict and we ate breakfast on our departure day at 1900 Park Fare and had a great time.

My wife is a pre-opening park picture taker and we always do the Crystal Palace before park opening. We get the earliest time we can, eat and interact with the characters, then my wife and daughter hustle to the rope drop while I stay and take care of the bill.

We have done both and enjoyed both very much. I think 1900 is a little less chaotic, but both had very good food.

I prefer 1900. My DD was scared of the Mad Hatter, but it was funny (at least I thought so LOL). We went while DS was on the pirate cruise. It was very nice! Here is a pic of her face when she saw him coming haha

We liked Crystal Palace better. Both were good, but Crystal Palace was excellent! DD3 didn't like the Mad Hatter and her favorite character was the Beast so that's saying something! We got an early ADR at Crystal Palace and it was great!
