1900 Park Fare moved to cafe?

I just made all of my ADRs for our upcoming trip in Sept (shh it's a surprise DW has no idea ) and was told that the park fare restaruant will be closed during our visit. They will still be doing the character meal but it will take place in the Grand Floridian Cafe. Does anyone have any info on how this might be? We really enjoyed this meal the last time and DD had a blast. I would like to keep the ADR but I am a little nervous about it. We are only going for a short trip and I would hate to waste the evening. Thanks in advance.

I'm fairly confident it's a plated meal and not a buffet. I'm not sure what's being served though.

I have been told by 4 CM's that it will be the same buffet, just different venue since they are rehabbing 1900 PF.

It is preplated. If you call disney dining the CM should be able to tell you some of the things they are serving. I know one was prime rib.

I am going in September and made a point to call back and ask. I was told that it was a buffet. Guess we won't know until we get there!!

I was going to make ADR's for my August trip and two different CM's told me it was going to be preplated.

UGH! I, too, was told it was buffet. Maybe I'll call a few different CM's today and see what they have to say. Or call after renovations are under way and we'll probably have a more accurate answer.

A CM told me pre-plated and some of it will be served family style (definitely the desserts). There was a chicken, prime rib, pasta, and fish option I think. I can't see how a restaurant that is not set up for a buffet can quickly turn into one so I do believe it will be preplated.
