I made reservations here since my daughter is so into Cinderella and stepsisters.. but how is the food and what are the options? Do they have prime rib? Also we are staying at Port Orleans and I am thinking of what the best way to get there would be. The bus to MK and then the monorail to Grand Floridian?? What do you think? I don't want to spend all night traveling places.. I want to have time in the parks. Any advice?

I don't know about the transportation but my girls, 5 and 8 when we went, absolutely loved 1900 Park Fare for dinner. The stepsisters were very funny and we enjoyed the food. I don't know exactly what is on the buffet but there was enough to choose from to satisfy my family of eclectic eaters! We're going back in April :cool1:

Not sure if you've seen this yet, but here's the menu:

1900 Park Fare Menu

We're going for the first time this year. I have heard mixed reviews, but then I hear that about most of the places we like. Have a fun trip!

I can't comment specifically on the restaurant/food as we are going to try this for the first time in April, but your transportation plans sound good. Depending on your timing of dinner you would be able to get to the MK or to Epcot via monorail afterwards which would help you to get back to the parks. There really isn't a direct way to go from resort to resort (unless you're at a monorail resort going to another monorail resort) using Disney transportation -- but if time is a concern you could always have your resort front desk call a taxi! We did this to go from POP to Boma at AKL in September for breakfast and it was great!
Hope you have a great trip!

Will you be somewhere else that day? We went there for dinner after spending the day at MK. We took the boat to GF. That can be faster than the monorail, depending on crowds, because the GF is the last stop on the monorail from MK. The resort monorail goes MK - CR - TTC - Poly - GF.

The food was pretty good...typical Disney Buffet stuff. We went for the characters, and the step sisters, Prince Charming, Cinderella, and the Fairy Godmother were absolutely wonderful. Lots of dancing and interaction. Absolutely hilarious!!!! Take a bus to MK, or better yet plan to spend that day at MK, and hop on the monorail.

1900 PF is a must for us every trip. The food is good and the Step-Sisters are always a riot! This meal is definately a blast for us!

We were just there last week and it was by far our favorite character meal. The buffet we think is the best one for dinner. Options of different countries meals and we thouroughly enjoyed it!

My 2 boys LOVED dinner @ 1800 Park faire! The characters are, by far, the best at any character meal that we've had and that's saying a lot. I personally don't like buffets for dinner (breakfast is always better), this one was a bit better than most, but as other have said, standard Disney fare. With the ONE EXCEPTION we all LOVE-the Strawberry Soup..DIVINE!!

We ate at 1900 Park Fare in September. We took a taxi to the GF and used the monorail to MK and bus back to POR that evening. The trip back that evening took awhile. The monorail was a breeze. It was the wait for a bus at MK that took awhile. DH was wanting to get back to watch a football game. It would have been easier to take a taxi back.

I did not try the prime rib. DH remembered it being on the buffet that evening. I really enjoyed the cream of asparagus soup. I probably would not have tried it except that another diner at the buffet was raving about how good it was. It was really good that evening.

Enjoy your trip!

We're going in January. Everything I have heard about it is excellent and that the characters more than make up for the 'average buffet food'. We're excited.

We'll be at MK that day but not sure if we'll be going there from our afternoon break or from the park if we don't take a break at the hotel. If we're at MK we'll hop the boat over.

If we're at our resort (BWI) then we'll take a bus to MK and then take the boat or monorail there.

We have done the 1900 Park Fare dinner on our trips the last two years and absolutely loved it both times, not only for the wonderful food but also for the hilarious, enjoyable entertainment :yay: You will find the stepfamily stays in perfect character :rotfl: I did have the roast beef and it was great both times. I like my roast beef medium rare and the last time it looked more well done. I mentioned it to the CM and he went out back and cut into two new pieces of beef before he found one that was cooked just right :goodvibes He definitely went above and beyond and also did it very pleasantly :woohoo: We also stayed at the French Quarter and did the same method of getting there for our reservations. I hope you and your daughter have a marvelous, magical time

We were just there this Thursday. Prince Charming was great and my little one was awed by him. He was really good. Cinderella was okay. We had a late reservation at 825 and the characters came around, theydanced a bit but they left 1/2 way between the meal. It was a memorable experience but we wont be going back. There was a large selection of food, nothing more than average. The prime rib was decent, the strawberry soup was really good and so the cream of asparagus soup was ok too. If I was paying OOP I would not have been too thrilled but being on the DP it was fine. Its kind of like when you are eating it, it is okay but after you leave the restaurant, youre thinking that really was not too good. But it was a lot better than chef mickeys buffet.

We enjoyed our dinner there a few weeks ago very much. The night we were there, they had a roast beef they were carving (not prime rib). They had a very tasty creamy horseradish for it. It was very good. They had mashed potatoes with a nice rich brown gravy, and I was happy!! I did try the Italian pasta which wasn't too good, but the salads were very nice as well. I didn't try the Asian stuff.

We stayed at POFQ and took a bus to the MK. Our dinner was at 4:45pm, and I was dismayed that we didn't get to the POFQ bus stop till 4:10pm (DD couldn't find her bday button and no way we were going without THAT!). We even waited for the bus for 10 minutes or so, then got on the monorail at the MK and made it to the GF by 4:40pm! (I would recommend allowing more time ).

After dinner, we had tickets to MVMCP, so we opted to take the boat back to the MK, even though the monorail would've been faster. What a beautiful ride on the boat we had that evening. It was a great time all the way around.

Hope you have as much fun with this experience as we did! ;)

i haven't read all the replies but i thought i'd let you know that i ate here last year and thought the food was really good and i'm not a big buffet fan. the salads were excellent and so was the prime rib. they had a great selection of lots of different kinds of food. the characters were also just awesome! probably the best character interaction we've ever had....the stepsister are HILARIOUS! the only complaint we had was that it took awhile for all the characters to get to our table.

i think getting a bus to MK and then taking the monorail to the GF is probably the best plan. but if you have time and it's a nice night out, i would take the boat from MK to the GF. it's a nice ride across the water and the views are really pretty. the boat goes directly from MK to the GF, then to the poly and back to MK, just FYI.

HI

You will be very happy with this ADR

This is the way we go, and this is our forth time for 1900, alway very happy,:cheer2: The bus to MK and then the monorail or the boat to Grand Floridian

take care
and a have a great trip :goodvibes

my girlie was 5 when i took her for the first time in october and into everything princess so we did all 3; 1900 PF, CRT, and Akershus and I have to say that 1900 Park Fare was the favorite! CRT was great just because she loved the fact that she was IN cinderella's castle and she was sure her bedroom was just behind every door we passed, but as for food quality and character interaction 1900 was hands down the best. We also liked that one because she was able to get all dolled up and wear her big Cinderella gown and 'glass slippers' to dinner and everyone (especially Prince Charming) made SUCH a fuss over her.. "oooooh you look JUST like my Cinderella, except I see you have a strap on your shoe, thats so smart, my Cindy is ALWAYS loosing her shoes!" ;0)

They had such a wide variety of food, and everything we got there was great, and all the characters took their time talking with us... and I will forever cherish the picture of Prince Charming kissing her hand and the video of him dancing with her.. PRICELESS!!! I would definitely recommend it!
