After reading mixied reviews, I am wondering about my ADR's at Park Fare...I have one for Christmas Eve Didnner, and one for Christmas morning breakfast!!
Now I know you can please SOME of the people SOME of the time, and not ALL the people ALL of the time, but is this restaurant that bad???:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 I have read more bad reviews that good ones...I need help! :scared1:

It is just me and my DH, and this will be the first time we have eaten at Park Fair and since I got to pick the restaurants, I sure dont want him unhappy! (he is a picky eater)

opinions anyone???

More people will post the negative than will post the positive. That's just a fact.

This has always been one of our favorite restaurants, and we will try it again in January on our next trip.

From the reviews I've read, the character interaction is fantastic.

It did have TONS of great character interaction...each cycled around many times and spent a lot of time with us.

I just had weird issues...

No butter anywhere at the buffet, but there's a toaster with bread. You have to ask your server for butter to go on your cold toast (cold butter doesn't spread on cold toast).

In the cereal area for kids, there was no handy bowls. The bowls you had to hunt for.

Didn't get drink refills unless you ask, but our server was never around :confused3 So I'd get up with my empty glass and go over near the back refill-y area and ask someone nicely.

The food is the same at all breakfast buffets and the atmosphere is victorian. I liked the Mary Poppins feel to the room.

Our favorite is Chef Mickeys (Breakfast lasagna). Second Donald's Breakfastasarous.

We had dinner there in 2005 and 2006. We liked it a lot both times. I think if you wanted to eat there then you should go ahead and do it. Unfortunately most restaurants ( in the world and elsewhere) have bad days from time to time. Plus everyone has different tastes so you don't know until you try.

On a side note I always laugh when people complain about how loud a restaurant at WDW is. What do you expect it is a place full of families and kids and its going to be loud. Take a tylenol and enjoy. ;)

Eaten at 1900 a number of times and totally loved it. There are Blitzes(sp?) on the buffet! They are very yummy. Never had an issue with the wait staff, and had a blast with the Mad Hatter and Alice.

Occationally the big Music Machine on the wall starts playing tunes.

I can't tell you anything about the 1900 Park Fare dinner, but my wife & I did have breakfast there in October 2007. The food was fairly good, but the character interaction was great! For us, one of the very best was The Mad Hatter, who was VERY spot-on and actually did an amazing job of reminding me of Ed Wynn. The rest of the characters (Mary Poppins, Winnie The Pooh, Tigger, and Alice) were all very good too, though I'd probably tip the scales more toward seeing Pooh and Tigger at Crystal Palace than at 1900 Park Fare. Still, would we do 1900 Park Fare breakfast again? I'd give it about a 85-90% yes, depending on where we were staying (some places its tougher to get there from than others).

Enjoy the Magic, whatever you decide!

The Mad Hatter is one of the best face characters of all time. He is absolutely hilarious every time I see him.

Likewise, the Stepsisters are a hoot.

I'm not sure I'd eat back-to-back meals there, but both are slightly out-of-the-ordinary character meals, so I'd certainly keep one of them.

I have only been for breakfast and it is my favorite character breakfast buffet. The breakfast characters are funny, and the Mad Hatter is quite the character. I am going to try the dinner buffet in January even though I have probably read some of the same reviews as you have. The character interaction for the dinner sounded wonderful. I know the food reviews have been mixed, but since it is a buffet there is bound to be something someone will like. I say try it still, some people really like the new food selection.

WE just got back and we thought that our dinner at Park fare was the worst meal that we had over the 14 days we were there. The character interaction was very good, but we were totally rushed throught the meal and left feeling very stressed. I'm not a picky eater and ususally find something that I like to eat. However the only thing that I had to eat here was a little piece of chicken and some mashed potato. I would have had more chicken, but the next piece that I had was undercooked! :scared1: I also had some desserts. This is the only meal that we said that would never return to.

We had a ADR for breakfast several days later and were not looking forward to going. However we had a great time. The food was good, the character interaction was brilliant and it was a totally relaxed meal. In fact it was completelly opposite to the dinner! :thumbsup2

I have never had dinner there; only breakfast. The breakfast is great and the character interaction is wonderful. As far as we are concerned it is the best character breakfast on the property and miles better than Crystal Palace or Chef Mickeys. My kids are teenagers and they love the Mad Hatter, Alice and Mary Poppins. I cant ever miss out on 1900 for breakfast!

Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare was wonderful (Oct. 07)! The food selection was very good and the bread pudding with vanilla sauce was to die for. Omelette station was great and all the food stations were kept filled. The characters were awesome! Ask to sit in the back room and the calliope will not be so loud in there.

If I canceled when I saw bad reviews, I would be sitting on my luggage at the airport eating a bag of chips. There is such a mixed bag a reviews on this site alone, you have to extract certain things and take what may apply to you and your family. Obviously, the food reviews are either one way or the another. You will always hear more negative than positive unfortunatley!

I would hate for you to miss a great experience on such a roller coaster of reviews.

My plan was, do what we "want" regardless of mixed reviews. Now we are going back to Disney next year and we each, DD, DH and I, each got to pick our 2 favs (ADR) and the the other 2 we are trying something new!

We have had both breakfast and dinner there in the past.... both are fine... I did like the breakfast a little better but they were both nice. I would say that the restaurant is a little on the loud side. For me I travel with teenagers and my DH so we didn't mind but not sure about just 2 adults. But the food was nice, the characters were great and never really had to wait long - something I really do appreciate. I would keep your reservation. Be sure to try the Strawberry soup.... it is yummy!!!

And we enjoyed the food! We were not rushed at all (but then again on Christmas Eve they will probably rush everyone everywhere to get people through), and found the food to be fresh. The chefs were very friendly, standing behind the buffet line to refresh the food and inform you what was in what. Don't forget to try the cold strawberry soup, and if you like it your server will give you a copy of the recipe. Have fun!

We are on the exact same page! Thank You!! I thought maybe I was either crazy or too picky. (I don't consider myself either.) When my friends asked if there was anything I'd do different regarding our trip... the only thing I could think of was I'd wished I cancelled our dinner at 1900 Park Fare! (The blood running all over my plate from the way undercooked Prime Rib still makes me sick.) *shudder*

I tried the chips at the airport--they were awful. The girl at the counter was slow, and the place was too noisy. Next time, I'm going for the bagels and eat them in a restroom stall.

Is it still Cinderella at dinner?

I've had some bad chips at the noisy airport, too... but I didn't pay $200.00 for them.
