19 Fun-Filled Days in May (pre to trippie) Creations & Pics!!!

I came across this design which I LOVED, so I figured I'd have a play with making something for Graham.

totgoingdown.jpg

I'd done the pirate's league ID for Karen, so it was Graham's turn. Karen will never do TOT and I won't anymore but I have done it.

Using the test track design, I came up with this to go on the other side of the picture above...

I just stuck a Check-in and Check-out date with Guest's name underneath the wording. And obviously a photo on the right.

I then figured I'd better finally finish the autograph books.

I needed a front and back cover and an inside front and back cover. I raided all the designers online and used/adapted their stuff for the following...

and the back cover

Much as I loved all the covers out there, I kinda wanted to make my own. This is what I came up with, I hope you like it.

I did realise one small problem...if I laminated the covers I couldn't write in the room numbers etc LOL. So I printed the back covers (both sides) and laminated those, then I just printed the front side of the front cover and laminated that one. I then cut around the cover leaving just a bit of plastic to protect the edges of the pages inside.

I took them down to Staples to be bound today. They did an 'ok' job but despite me explaining, she lined the covers up with the bottom of the book so I had a section of plastic and cover stuck above the pages and nothing below :nonono: When I got them home I took them apart and cut the holes bigger in the covers and in the few pages that weren't lined up and then put them back together again. It's not perfect but at least I can make them line up now.

Whilest there I bought some double sided sticky tape and stuck the inside front cover in place.

This is the end result...

My cat, Klio, is not so impressed.

She is 11 so she knows what things like this mean. Her answer? If I lie down on them...

LOL could she look any smugger? She's on my book too. And she's such a cuddly cat normally. :rotfl:

Ok, I got all excited again about this after bumping in to a friend of mine:

But I've been busy typing up the last bit of last year's trip rep. Never taken so long to do one LOL But I have finally finished it, so it's back to this one! YAY.

Just gonna do a recap so I know where I was and then I'll post my latest updates.

Ok, so my 'to do' list was as follows...

Tickets for WDW
Remainder of Accomodation Payments
Remainder of Car Payment
Insurance
Holiday Supplies (some sorted)
Things I've forgotten about

I need to add to this list slightly because I need to add the fact I have to change my hotel booking at POR. I had made the booking for all 9 nights but then I upgraded to the BCV for the last three and haven't yet changed the original. Might do that later.

I also have to add mousekeeping envelopes. I'm not entirely sure how many I need because I'm not sure how it works in the villas but I've gotta sort them. I'm gonna do some new ones for this year (even if they are adapted) but here are some of my own designs from back in 2006ish - http://s55.photobucket.com/albums/g156/seobaina/mousekeeping/.

I can tick a few more of these off the list now though too *yay*

I sorted out my insurance *touch wood*. It was by no means an easy process. I saw a code on the forums for discount at Columbus Direct so I phoned them up and booked. However, despite my repeated requests to be covered for volcanos they didn't put it through and tried to charge me more later, so I cancelled with them. Long story short they have since apologised and offered me discount with them on any future bookings I wish to make.

In the meantime I went searching for another company. AA who I was with last year were great but they were asking for a minimum of £110 (without volcano cover). I tried a few more and they were all similar costs *shakes head*. I finally found Insure and Go who offered me a year policy with my bp and with extra legal cover for £64. I checked several times about volcanos and they assured me I was covered. The lady actually laughed cause I was so paranoid. I even wrote down who I'd spoken too and when just in case. Anyway, they seemed great and a good price so I've booked with them. So insurance....tick!

Last week the final payments for the car hire and villa also went out. I've had confirmation from both with the car voucher and villa details all arriving in my inbox. So tick, tick for those two things as well.

WDW ticket wise, I've been a very lucky lady. I bought one 14day ultimate ticket at the £225. That left two of us needing two adults for 9 days worth of main parks and two adults for Blizzard Beach and Disney Quest. Each year we, as cms, get a couple of one day hopper tickets that can be used in DL, WDW, DLP or DHK. They do expire but we normally get about 18months on them. Well, I had a few left and a number of my colleagues had some due to expire at the end of May this year. They gave me theirs so I was able to get 18 days worth of one day hopper tickets for free *HUGS my kind fellow cms*. We're pretty sure the tickets didn't work for Disney Quest or BB so I've got to buy those but they shouldn't cost more than about £60 per adult. So split between the three of us it shouldn't cost more that £118 each (with the one 14 day ticket that is). So we've saved lots. I'm very grateful. Here's a pick of some of them in case anyone is interested in the designs (we have some TS3 ones too).

These also arrived safe and sound...I feels more real now:

So my new 'things to do' list is...

Remainder of Hotel Payment (and alteration)
Mousekeeping Envelopes
Holiday Supplies (some sorted)
Things I've forgotten about

I'm getting there.

As those of you who know me (or read this thread) might have twigged...I like creating things  so I decided to make something else for the trip...or rather the flight.

I gathered pages from around the net & forums as well as doing some of my own, in order to create an activity book. It's full of crosswords, dot-to-dots, word searches, mazes, colouring pages, etc. There's a lot actually LOL. It's about A5 in size though. Here's a pic of the front covers (design not by me).

Dscn0182.jpg

And a sample inside:

Dscn0183.jpg

Ok, in case anyone wants them, here are the other activity book pages...laid out ready to print on A4 size (apart from the cover).

As I say, not all the pages are my designs.

Sounds like a great deal on tickets for all of you! You know how to charm your fellow CM's! :goodvibes
I love the activity books!

LOL yeah, I have a good team, we do try to help each other out.

Thanks, glad you like them....I got a bit carried away :-)

P.S. Can't believe you only have 11 days to go!!

Ok, I started playing with mousekeeping envelopes. Pretty basic designs but I'm quite pleased with them.

It's getting close...but everything has changed. My DH can longer come along now so my mom is going to fill in for him. My dad is going to come down too now and visit with his sister while we go on the cruise, then he will join us for the rest of the trip.

Aww bad luck about DH but the new version sounds great too. I'm gonna go check out your pre trippie later, not had a chance yet!

Update time.

My to do' list was...

Remainder of Hotel Payment (and alteration)

And how am I doing? Well...

So, I have a dilema that I'm hoping you guys will help me make a decision on. Do I fill up my bag with Pluto or have space and take eeyore?

First I should explain about Pluto. Many years ago I bought a Pluto plush and he came with a smaller one about beanie size. He's not the same as the one you can buy as a beanie but similar.

The original idea was that he would go on holiday with cast members from the store and he did for a while but the cast have changed and it kinda died down. He does still often go on holiday with me and sometimes my friends....not always but sometimes.

So you get a real feel for him (or are interested) here are some photos of Pluto's great adventures:
