19 Fun-Filled Days in May (pre to trippie) Creations & Pics!!!

Update for today...

I've bought my Universal and Sea World tickets. Found a combo ticket which included Sea World, Aquatica, Busch Gardens, Universal & IOA for £153, 14 day unlimited. That's better than the £189ish for the Orlando flexiticket so I'm thrilled. Just gotta wait anxiously for them to arrive now.

Not got the Disney ones yet because I need to work out what we actually need first.

You are very creative! :thumbsup2 Sounds like you are having a lot of fun planning your trip.

Mind if I ask what program you are using for your creations?

Thank you. I have so much fun creating stuff for the trip. We're all big kids and these are all surprises :) Some of the things are designed by other DISers too and I don't know what they use but if I'm adapting or creating myself I use Paintshop Pro 7. Hope that helps.

Wow, love your autograph book ideas.....do you stick the pages in a book you have already?

Hi and thank you.

What I did last year was print them all out on card, cut them out with a slightly larger border on the binding side and then laminated a front and back cover (gotta do those yet). I then cut that laminated section with about half an inch space around three sides. That way when it was bound the wider covers protected the pages inside. And then I had them spiral bound at Staples.

Sorry if that sounds confusing, it's really very simple. Here are some pics of last years book in the hope that explains it better.

Realised I'd missed a couple of characters so I've made two more pages (well, a few pages but two more characters). So here ya go...

Ok, I got a little carried away over the last few days.... *blush* and decided to make invitations for...well, everything I could! So that's all meals, the tour and some activities LOL.

Most I adapted from the designs of those talented DISers I found on the forums here (all found on the Meet the DISigner sticky forum thread under Creative DISigns), but I did make a few myself...mostly when I couldn't find what I was looking for.

So, here they are :) You can click for the larger versions

One of my father's friends is taking their grandchildren to WDW for the first time this March. I've been their travel guide as none of them have ever been. I managed to book them Chef Mickey's the other day for the little girl's birthday :) . The granddaughter will be 7 while she is there and the grandson is 4 and a half.

I've made them some welcome letters which I posted today.

Mickey Welcome (From a DISigner)

Princess Welcome (My design)

While I was on the theme of Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I figured I'd have a play with creating some silly extras.

First of all I came across a design (while looking for invites) that I liked the idea of. So I pinched the idea and adapted the basic design to create Hogwarts Express Train Ticket.

I also thought it would be funny to make our own wanted posters. I adapted a picture of Sirius Black and came up with the following (I've edited the number and added a full name on the final ones) ...

Ok, now the holiday season has passed by I have time to concentrate on my holiday *happy dance*. Btw, Happy New Year everyone!!

It is now less than 4 months til the trip *whooohoooo* so I'm starting all the creative bits.

The first I'm uploading properly are the licenses and certificates. I should stress that while I have done work on them, these are ALL adapted from the creative work of other designers *bows done to the disney creative bods out there on the forums*. A lot are from here: http://www.4shared.com/dir/18428241/4b39460d/sharing.html

Anyway, first up is a Jedi Knight Official Card - I'll double it over and then laminate it into a card - I'll take photos when they're done.

Then an Expedition Everest certificate. I've done this ride once but Karen has never done it and (currently) says she wants too this trip.

Karen and I are doing the Pirates League Adventure :-) So I figured I'd do certificates, etc for that too.

And the ID card (again to be folded over)

So glad that you liked my certificates and were able to use them!!! I rarely ever see my things as people tend to post their t-shirts and not the other items they make. Thanks for posting!!! It made my day. I like that you added a backside to the ID's.

OOOhhhh I LOVE you're work. Your site is in my top 5 'disney holiday' favourites folder and I'm always giving out links to you and DoNatalie. Thank you for all your hard work and for sharing them...I'd never have come up with anything half as good :worship:

Someone asked me for a Bay Lake Tower invite so I had a quick go. Here's the result...

Just had to share the email I got last night. I'd sent the welcome letters in the post to dad's friend's grandkids and their mum emailed me the following message....

"Thank you sooo much for the letters you send for Lucy and Thomas! I wish you could have seen their faces!!! Thomas said "Dad, come QUICK, Mickey Mouse has really written to me"!! oh how magic was that for them?! I can't wait to take them now and see their little faces, it's going to magical for them!!"

As someone who doesn't have kids herself...that just made my day!!! It took me about 30 mins to do and that little message was worth so much more. Hope those of you who have kids get the same magic

Just wanted to say, AWESOME trip report and SUPER AWESOME autograph pages!! I have always used autograph pages from here on disboards and totally rethinking not doing one this year because I love your pages! Thanks for ahring!!

Aww thank you :-) Apologies for the delay in response and updates, I've been in bed with flu for 3 weeks. I have printed the autograph book out now and will do some updates in the next couple of days :-)

*slowly crawls out of the obscurity that 3 weeks of flu has caused. Dusts self off and apologies for the absence*

Things I've forgotten about

Have to say I'm kinda happy that the balance has shifted from sorted to unsorted *yay* and things are moving along nicely. Could have done without the unexpected £450 dental bill today that hit my spending money (:sad2:) but oh well.

I've been gathering a few supplies ready for the trip too. Just basic things like tinted moisturiser, moleskin (LIFE SAVER if you've not used it), batteries for the camera, etc. So I'm beginning to feel better.

I've bought a new video camera this year - my old one was big and heavy and we needed some more for the business so I used the excuse :-) I bought this one Panasonic SD60 and I've gotta say so far it seems good. Need to play more to get used to it though.

Of course just after I'd bought that one and a professional video camera (don't ask how much :rolleyes1) I dropped my still camera and the battery cover broke, as did the zoom button *sigh*. So I had to buy a new camera too. I went with a Nikon L22 cause it had good reviews and so far really liking it. Again, I need to play more.

So basically...now I'm broke

The Universal tickets and Sea World tickets have arrived *happy dance*. We talked about the Universal Express and although we think it's kinda steep in price...when fastpass is free...we only have one day planned at US and it's a Saturday, so we took a chance and paid the extra $50 each to book the express. We'd got such a good deal on the original tickets I didn't mind too much. So, theoretically, that's all sorted.

Disney ticket wise - I've bought one cause it went on offer in the store for £225 and I got the ticket in my hand there and then. I'm holding off on ordering the others cause my colleagues are trying to sort it for me. So fingers crossed.

Haven't even looked at insurance yet. I can't remember who I was with last year but they were good about the whole volcano thing. If anyone has recommendations please let me know. I always have to phone them cause I have to declare my high bp...even though it's treated on the smallest dose possible and I've had a completely clear MOT besides that *sigh*. So any suggestions welcome

Ok...the more fun stuff...

Not sure I ever posted these but here are the finished pics of the things I've been making.

I also finished the Passports. I printed them out and used sticky back plastic covering to cover the outside and help protect it.

Although my eldest cat is not so sure about them and what they could indicate...
