Day 17
Saturday, 8/10
Our Last Official Day!

Today we awoke to another sunny beautiful day at Disney. While the others slept in, Kayla and Mommy got ready for their special morning together. This has to be Mommy’s favorite age…..Kayla is still young enough to cuddle, and hold hands with Mommy yet she is big enough to pal around with, carry on a conversation with and ride some of the bigger rides with…Kayla looks beautiful in her sleeping beauty dress (the pink one). She is excited about going to the new Princess Story Book Breakfast. We are ready to start our day!

Kayla pushes Stitch in the umbrella stroller with Mommy by her side as we walk over to Epcot. We are greeted by the friendly cast members at the international gateway entrance who even say good morning wish a magical day to Stitch. Kayla pushes Stitch the majority of the way and decides that it is time for Stich to give up his seat. We arrive in Norway, park the stroller and the “3” of us are escorted to a lovely window table in a little room that we had all to ourselves. Breakfast was delicious, muffins, fruit, sausage, french toast sticks, eggs and juice. The princesses visited Kayla and spent time talking with her and looking at her autograph book with pictures of them together from previous trips. Princess Arora and Kayla compared dresses and posed for pictures.

After breakfast Kayla and Mommy stopped to pick up fast passes for Test Track on our way to Mouse Gears. We looked around the store for a little while and picked up a frame, shirt and Mickey back scrubber for Daddy (he is always with us so it is hard to get anything to surprise him). Next we went to see Universe of Energy to see the Dinosaurs since Kayla did not see this last November. She enjoyed it, even all the Ellen movie stuff. Our fast Passes were ready after this and we headed over to Test Track. Kayla rode in the middle of Mommy and Stitch and we had a fast and fun ride together. If her and stitch were just a little taller we would have bought the picture. Kayla settled for a pressed penny and a picture by the car wash for her Test Track souvenir.

Daddy called and was having lunch with the rest of our crew at Rose and Crown on the patio so we walked over to meet them. Everyone enjoyed his or her shepherds pie and fish and chips for lunch. Daddy liked his surprises and the kids enjoyed giving them to him.

Carol, Mommy, Daddy and the kids decided to spend a couple hours at MGM and explored Walt’s one Man’s Dream. It was neat to see all the memorabilia in there. We also enjoyed more Mickey ice cream.

Before we new it our day was coming to an end and it would soon be time for dinner. Kayla and Michael and Mommy wanted to take one last slide on the Kester Coaster so we spent some time at the pool and the kids had hot dogs and chips before changing for dinner. Grandpa and Lita had the same idea and had enjoyed a nice afternoon at the pool as well.

Our 7:40 priority seating time at Narcoosee’s was approaching. After getting ready for the evening we drove to the Grand Floridian. We spent a little time at the bar and were then seated at a window table with a great view of the lake and the Magic Kingdom. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, coriander tuna seared rare, shrimp pasta, butternut squash & blue crab soup, mussels and fried oysters. The kids enjoyed their make your one smores (the marshmallows were even roasted and served on a stick). The atmosphere was wonderful at this restaurant, It was hard to stop gazing out the window at the lights from the magic kingdom and the sparkle of the water. The food was good but all agreed that the California Grill was better. The service here though was not, however, we were enjoying the atmosphere and each other’s company so much that we didn’t let our waitress bother us. During dinner we were treated to a great view of the Electrical Water Padgent AND the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. Some of us stepped out on the deck to view and the music was piped in to make it even better. Watching this with the family and remembering all the special times we have shared in Disney World together made a magical ending to our last evening together here….for this vacation!

Tomorrow: home again, home again…..or not!???!

What a special way to spend time with your dd. I'm sure she will always remember mommy taking her to the Princess breakfast. :)

Can't wait to take our DD to both princess breakfasts!

I Have really enjoyed your reports, thanks!!!
