I have my shopping carts saved for a 6 night, 7 day trip from Chicago to WDW November 14th through 20th.

The total for Pop Century, airfare, WDW tickets (6 days) and 2 tickets to VMCP came out to $1,800 (with all taxes and fees) for two people. Flying Southwest so my luggage is included. (No dining plan is included.)

Do you think this this is a good deal? Should I BUY it?!!!

Trip is for me and my 10 year old daughter, first time going with just the girls.

I paid $1,520 for 6 nights at Pop (standard) next month with 6 day park Hoppers for 2 of us (free dining). I paid another $600 for the airfare (for 2) from Milwaukee...

My calculations:

Room for 6 nights: approx $600
7-day tickets for 2: approx $600
Party tickets: don't know this cost, maybe $100?

All of which means your plane tickets are about $500 ($250 each). This is the price that can wildly fluctuate, and $250 would be good for Wichita/Orlando. I would think maybe Chicago/Orlando could do better.

So I voted: not great, not terrible. But I'm not sure you could do any better on plane tickets by waiting, so I'd probably go for it if I were you.

I think it sounds good! With 6 day tickets for two are probably about 640 for myw or about 760 for ph, and about 100 at least for 2 party ticket, probably closer to 120. With airfare at least 400 for two rt tickets, that's averaging approx. 1200 right there, with 600 for your room. And, if airfare when you are going is actually higher than 400 which is very likely, the deal is even better! All you have left then is food, which is not too hard to eat inexpensively. So, JMO, but, yeah, I'd say buy and have a super fabulous time! :thumbsup2 :cool1: :cheer2:

I would say that is a very reasonable rate. I am not sure what Pop is per night nowadays. I would think about $120 or so a night.

Have you considered trying to price everything out separately before you make a decision and buy. You can price the exact trip through Disney and then price your tickets through SWA.

Nope.

I just checked your dates on the Disney site and it's showing availability for FD for your dates at POP and a couple of other values.

$1413 for POP Standard room - includes free QS dining.

I would book the airfare separately and book the FD pkg with Disney.

Edited to say I guess only Canadians can book the FD still. :( Sorry to get you excited! I guess I automatically get sent to the Canadian site. Didn't realize US couldn't still book it.

Yeah, I'm super bummed we couldn't get free dining :(
  • Pop Century 6 nights & MYW base tickets for 6 days - $1297
  • 2 VMCP tickets - $124
  • Southwest Airfare for 2 - $432
  • Total - $1853

I couldn't get the early arrival flight I wanted, so we don't get into Orlando until 4:30pm. So, even though the 7 day ticket was only $20 more, I decided to skip a park ticket for the first day and opt for the VMCP hard tickets instead. It's more $$, but we've never been to any of the hard ticket events. Since we can use the hard tickets to enter the park any time after 4pm the VMCP would be a great kick off to our mother-daughter extravaganza!

I would say it's pretty good. We spent $2883.38 (exactly) for our trip from 8 Nov. thru 14 Nov. That's for resort (POFQ), DxDP, tickets with park hopper and water parks and more option, and airfare out of Indianapolis. We are also going to the MVMCP. We booked through the Run Disney website since we'll be running the Wine & Dine half marathon that weekend.

Our normal trips run about $3700 without the MVMCP tickets so the $2883.38 was a nice surprise for us. Leaves us more money to try some of the kiosks at the Food & Wine Festival. :)

I'm heading to Pop on 11/12, from Chicago as well! We can't really compare packages, as I am getting the AP discount at Pop as well as flying AA (my flights were $350, but they have baggage both ways and are have no rebooking fees in case my trip is cancelled!). $250 would be really great from Midway; I haven't paid that cheap from Midway in about two years. I'm also going to MVMCP, on 11/14!

You may just want to check, since you can't get FD, if you can get the fall discounted rates. You could do a room only and buy tickets from UT, which would be some additional savings.

So:
airfare SW 11/14 - 11.20: 297.80x2 = $595.60 (as of this morning)
Pop on a fall discount: (603.20 at ASSp => Pop kept timing out on me, so let's add $7 a night [typical], making it) $643.20
Two tickets to MVMCP = $136.06
UT tickets for 2 adults (6 day MYW tickets) = $615.90

This comes out to $1990.76 - so it looks like you're getting a good deal through that Southwest package and I'd say go for it! Make sure to check out easywdw for crowd calendars!

Booked it! Moving over to the Happy Dance thread! Thanks everyone :)

Since this isn't a theme parks attractions and strategies subject, I've moved this thread to the Budget Board. :)

I think it's fare on pricing...go for it.
