180 days - 6 a.m. and still could not get more than 4 of our ADR's

Cheerleaders and I believe Soccer players I believe? I read in another post that there were 400 Cheerleader groups and 40 or so Soccer Teams there

There will be cheer groups and soccer groups that week for competitions I believe. I read in another thread that there are 400 cheer groups and 60+ soccer groups traveling to Disney the first full week in December. But this is nothing new, so not sure why this year is different from previous years for the same time.

Oh, when I was there last year 11/25/16-12/05/16 I didn't notice anything until maybe the last 2 or 3 days. (now that I think about it) This year we are leaving to WDW 12/06/17, hopefully it isn't too bad.

Championships are usually in early December, after Thanksgiving. Last year they were 12/3-12/9. This year, 12/2-12/9.

I went in November last year and had trouble at my 180+10. I ouldn't get BOG and Cali Grill. I kept checking prior to my trip and got both so keep trying. Things are always changing

Is it the party size at all? We are a family of 3 and I've just checked for 12/3 and can get Narcoosee's at 6.45/8pm, Biergarten at 7.50, California Grill at 9pm, Yak and Yeti is also coming up at a decent time.

I'm in the same boat. I have NEVER had problems getting my ADR 180s out. 6am and I didn't get any of my requests.

Logged in this morning to do mine, didn't get any!!! If they had availability, it was for a 10pm dinner or 10:30am breakfast. With a toddler in tow, that doesn't exactly work for us. I even had backups planned but those were booked too. What gives? Either this first week of December is going to be the busiest week of the year or something has changed.

I have learned just keep checking. This year we got ours that we wanted at first but last year we didnt get Chef Mickeys but I kept checking nearly everyday and finally was able to get it. What Restuarant are you trying to get?

I was also surprised by the difficulty getting some reservations for our trip the first week of December. From a crowd calendar standpoint makes no sense, but as others have mentioned likely a combination of free dining, xmas parties at MK, and tables held back at Epcot for CP.

OK - After reading all the comments, is there any top secret plan or magic on getting a reservation at BOG for dinner? My dates 12/13 to 12/17 and although my window is not open yet until next week and with two MK Christmas Party nights, I am super anxious. We haven't done BOG on the last two trips, but certainly want one for this trip. It's my 50th and my daughter's 16th birthday and that's all we want. Any other suggestions to snag one......?????

I think the best you can do is get online at 6am, check that first and if you can't get it, just keep checking back hoping someone else cancelled theirs. I didn't get anything we had originally planned so I am going to be checking frequently over the next few months. I have been trying to snag an Ohana ADR our past 3 trips and no luck! It's one of my favorite restaurants on Disney property and I haven't been able to enjoy it for years because of no ADR availability.

I suspect Ohana and BOG dinner are the restaurants most affected by free dining.

Log on right at 6am and go to the end of your trip and look for BOG first. We were amble to secure it Tuesday for the last night of our trip. Actually got everything we wanted right away including Le Cellier.

Our 180 window opened up yesterday, Disney's site and app were down from midnight to about 8:30a.m., so I ended up calling right at 7a.m. Estearn(6 for me). Wait time was 45mins, but ended up being 1.5hrs and still managed to get everything we wanted, including BOG and CRT for a party of 4. Don't forget to always start booking your ressies with the last day of your trip and work your way backwards

I think this is what is hurting us. We have a split stay with 2 nights followed by 3 nights so we don't really get the +10 advantage.

To answer the original question I DID add a day (11/25 - which I'm keeping) to our original plans because it was the first day of free dining for that window and I could make ADRs a day before everyone checking in the following day because I read dining reservations are difficult to get when the meals are free. I've not been to Disney in 20 years so this system is new to me, but in a flurry between 6-6:30 AM on Memorial Day using multiple tabs in three browsers I booked a dozen reservations at least two hours apart at reasonable times when I only needed seven. I had planned to thin them out once I was able to call and make Bibbidi Boppodi Boutique and Lilo's Kid's Club reservations at 7 AM. However, I was unable to book Askershus and when I called was told to try again after dates where confirmed for Candlelight Processional. I did cancel an extra Cinderella's Royal Table once I had my 'Princess Day' trifecta of Bibbido Boppidi Boutique, BOG, & Cinderella's Royal Table, but won't cancel one of my other two BOG (we're going twice because it costs a counter service credit) or my extra 'Ohana until I know what day we'll be going to Epcot which won't happen until they get Candlelight Processional dates set. There are probably a lot of people waiting to fill in the missing pieces in their plans before they know which reservations they will keep and also a reasonable number who hopefully put $200 down on during the free dining promotion, made dining reservations, but will not be able to go.

My window opened this morning. Definitely go to the end of the trip and work backwards. The only one I wanted and didn't get was Akershus; but I definitely didn't get any on the days/times I had 'planned'. So, we have new plans.

Yes. We will be there for 8 nights and didn't really have any issues booking Ohana, CRT and BOG on the last 3 days of our trip...no availability at all for the first few days

This makes me so nervous. We're going 12/6-12/12 because it's supposed to be a low crowds week. All these ADR's not being available makes me feel like it's going to busier than they say it will be. I start trying for ADR's on Friday. I'm keeping my expectations low

We arrive on Dec 8. I know things change all the time but the crowds don't look near as low as I was hoping.
